Bought a Denon prime 4 last year, and I'm going to sell it again. Bought this beauty today. I'm a club dj for 10 years now, and I'm used to work with Pioneer. Thought that I could use to work with Denon too, but I can't. Yes the key shift function is great. Yes the 4 channel stand-alone is great. Yes streaming is great (but I simply don't use it). But still, if I have to perform live for a big amount of people, I'm just more comfortable with something like this tbh. In my opinion, the Denon prime 4 is magnificent if you only use the Denon prime 4. In my case, if you use Denon at home and Pioneer in the clubs, your reference will always go to pioneer. I just want to practice my skills and creativity at home on the same type of products as in the clubs. And for that, the RX3 is a brilliant unit
Some fair comments there. We think the Denon gear is especially suited to mobile and event DJs who don't care about club gear and appreciate the features it brings.
If you can DJ, you can work with both Pioneer or Denon without any issues. Denon reads Rekordbox USB sticks as well. The difference is so little these days. The new generation kids won’t have these problems at all, most of them are born in a digital world and are tech savvy nowadays. ‘who don’t care about club gear’. Mate, it’s 99% the same except for the menu’s which takes 15 minutes to master. We run on both Pioneer and Denon gear without any hassle at all.
@@monowaverecords Ok, let's give James Hype a Prime 4 on his next gig, or a full Denon 4 player setup and watch him happily play on that... because I consider him a bloody good DJ and he is pretty tech savvy too, so it shouldn't cause him any trouble at all. But you will have to tell him how to connect the sampler to sync up with the rest of the gear. BUT, as I disagree with everything you said, I do suspect James would laugh his ass off as if it was a joke, and then you tell him what you wrote here... I would've loved to see that happen. Just because every DJ isn't famous it doesn't mean that 1000's of hours on one system easily translates over to another similar system, and certainly not when there's key differences between the systems. Engine are supposed to read Rekordbox USB's, but I have tried several times on Denon gear and on my Numark Mixstream Pro, and I still have never seen it work. Once I could see the files, but no playlists and browsing a collection of 19 000 tracks is not really a solution. I've had my Numark at home for 18 months and however fun it is to play with, it's still not an option to bring to a gig. I still wait for a CDJ mode to appear as that is what I use since I first used the Denon dual player back in 1993 and has been a key part of everything I do on the decks ever since. Still on all Pioneer gear, gone on Denon/Numark with engine. Another problem is timing as you have to hit the buttons 3 times harder on Denon/Numark. That little push that's enough on Pioneer gear since 2001 is what I use to time the start and that is a miss on my Numark too often. I don't like hitting buttons with force as they tend to brake sooner rather than later when you do. This doesn't mean I couldn't play one Engine if I absolutely had to, but it certainly wouldn't be to play at the best of my ability. I would rather use a couple of my CDJ-1000's and a bunch of CD's as I really don't need to see what I play when I mix by ear. About your tech savvy next gen DJ's... I've had a couple of panic calls from them when they come to a club where there's still first gen CDJ-2000's they are expected to perform on, and the first question always is '' where are the moving wave forms?'' then comes ''How can I use the full screen to see the track names?'' and finally they can't see the minute marker or beat grids, or find the sync... And when they realize non of this is available, and that there are only 3 hot cues which you have to load before using, tech savvy is not the word I would use... But good for you that you can master several different DJ systems and perform at 99%, because I can't, and probably neither could James Hype, not even after 15 minutes to master the menus.
At this price range it should have come with 4 channels. Seems like lately Pioneer has been 2 steps behind Denon's innovative cobtrollers and features.
@@digitaldjtips Not sure that would add any value! Who uses 4 decks with just 2 channels - in all honesty? I'd say very few. Dual layer is perfect with 4 channels but not on this device.
I feel that if it going to be called as a standalone unit! Imo it should have options that help benefit the dj. This doesnt cut it at all. No wifi, the screen looks outdated already denons look like there in 4k. To some this may fill in a blank in alot of ways but alot of people are wanting connectivity options and that should be at the forefront of any new poineer dj gear by now. I feel like its just another let down. They took a leap from the rx2 yes but not a big enough leap to catch denons engine series imo.
I'm sure it's a solid bit of kit, I know my RX2 is. Worth the upgrade though? Probably not. Honestly this is as much as I'd expected, the CDJ 3000 wasn't exactly a revolutionary leap forward, and there's no way pioneer are going to outdo their flagship with entry level kit. Going by their track record we've probably got 3 years until the 3000 gets a nexus refresh, so what you see now is as good as you'll get from pioneer until then. The only thing that could change that is if denon suddenly gains a lot of traction in the pro industry, which would force pioneer to actually try to compete.
Looks well built but I still prefer my P4. I'm no Carl Cox (for sure!) but I often play 3 decks with the 4th being used to line up the next track. All I know is that I can never go back to 2 channels. Denon all the way. Much more features & streets ahead.
After watching this again 4 months later, I just realized that it's almost perfect, I think they need to add the ethernet port for Pro-DJ Link, the Key Sync feature and the frequency FXs buttons at least in the form of software buttons in the touchscreen, nonetheless I think it's perfect for anyone who's using Pioneer DJ gear :)
Everyone complaining about 4 channel or wifi streaming music. No one noticed that it can play Flac, WAV, AIFF in standalone. Thats the big upgrade from the rx2
I bought a used RX2 from Guitar Center in January of this year. It’s in excellent condition and I absolutely love it! I am glad to see that, all in all, I am in no immediate need to upgrade. I love that the RX3 has gated hot cues now, and the big screen is amazing. I think I will wait to see what the XZ line’s new system is like, whenever they drop it. I imagine the XZ will have Key Sync and such features that make it more similar to the CDJ-3000. I also like that the XZ gives you the option to have a 3rd and 4th deck, although I usually just use two decks, so I never feel limited on my current setup. Thanks for the thorough and honest review!
The main difference between RX2 and RX3 besides newer features, 1. RX3 and 3000 will be pushed back regarding deliveries to the semi conductor shortage, maybe if your lucky you get a set in februari / march, maybe later. 2. RX2 are built like a tank, RX3 not so much! Just watch *SUAT* if you do not believe me!
As a lifelong Pioneer DJ, this unit would of been great in the pre-streaming era, but times have moved on and Pioneer DJ’s standalone gear, whether that be there all in one systems or modular ones have fell behind by a considerable level, While I’m a big fan of there DJ controllers ,especially DDJ 400 which in my opinion is good enough to play on to get familiar with the pioneer nexus layout etc: Need better sound quality add a separate audio interface for balanced outputs or even move up to the DDJ 800. To me the XDJ-RX3 doesn’t tick all the boxes for djing in 2021 and beyond. The lack of wifi, ethernet and streaming capabilities really mark this unit down. If I were to rate it, I would give it a 5 out of 10.
lack of Wifi? Well if you want or need all that, buy 3000 and V10 then! Perfect for streaming. and if your up to it, buy FOUR! Most people are just lazy! Djn in 2021? Du there is still a pandemic going on. The only thing people do now is wanking in their man-caves, studios or streaming corners! That is not dj'n for sure!
@@bizzclub8622 literally. Who the FUCK streams music? From what I’ve heard it’s terrible because of latency and buffering. You need a constant amazing internet connection to stream. What festivals and clubs have in-house free, high-speed internet..?
@@iDrumGod beatport link etc doesn’t work like that. You don’t stream the music you select a track and it downloads the whole thing to the player. No buffering or latency.
@@iDrumGod Exactly, from what you've heard! Obviously you haven't tried it then! Denon will download and analyze a track in about 20 seconds as long as you have a decent internet connection. OYou don't need to use tidal or beatport, but it is handy for requests that you may not have. This is perfect for weddings etc (yes, believe it or not, there is more than one kind of DJ ;) ). If you're doing a set at a festival or a club, obviously you're going to have your music on a USB stick. This RX3 is pretty diabolical, and just proves that Pioneer has lost its way. Denon have smashed it and futureproofed themselves and even after 4 years, Pioneer have not come up with an answer to the Prime series. More and more people are jumping ship now, just look at the Denon pages on facebook and it's hilarious how many people are joining to say they have switched from Pioneer to Denon on a daily basis! And to be honest, i'm not surprised. I would never consider Pioneer in the current market, it's obsolete, including this effort of a controller!
Already have a DDJ-1000 and always wanted something standalone - not because it’s better but because standalone always has had a soft spot in my heart. I really want it, but it probably would be more fun to try DIY one.
I've had my Pioneer XDJ RX3 for a couple of weeks now it was a big step up from a DDJ SB3 but ive quickly learned my way around it and it works great with Serato Pro, i decided against using Rekordbox as i was used to Serato. Having a few problems creating playlists but i think thats Serato so i may give Rekordbox a try. As for the XDJ RX3 i couldn't be happier although i do think it was a bit overpriced.
@@simonshields2525 Can't even analyse tracks on the USB even either. Should really be releasing Gear at this price point where you can connect your Mobile device/or slot in a MicroSD to it and drag music right into it to be analysed, played and added to its internal storage or attached USB ect.
I switched to Denon after they released the sc5000 players, had the cdj 2000s before, like anyone i was a bit sceptical about jumping over as i had never liked the Denon gear previously but so glad i did. Iv been nothing but impressed with the huge leaps Denon have made. Iv had the sc5000s, sc5000ms, sc6000s and now have the sc6000ms and the Denon Go for gigging. Iv been streaming all my music from Beatport and Tidal for the last year or so and love it. Iv tried to push all my dj friends into the Denon eco system but still they stick with outdated hardware. With each ‘new’ release, Pioneer are surely losing sections of their fanbase? The cdj 3000 should have been a massive statement from them, it was far from it. It will be interesting to see how things go from here, it will be another few years before Pioneer release another flagship player and all in one unit, they are already way behind, Denon seem to listen to what people want and continue to improve their hardware…………………….its a good time for dj tech nerds like me 😬😬
Not one club in my capital city has house DJ gear anymore. This stopped in 2010 ish when controllers became mainstream. Instead, spin on what you like - Don't worry about what everyone else is doing.
The release fx on the pad modes are so convenient. No more switching the fx knob for each channel brilliant. imo it is a step up from my SRT. The mechanical jogs are not great for scratching esp if you are not heavy handed, secondly i never use more than 2 channels, third I’ve always wanted a 2 ch standalone for Serato and it’s finally here. The smaller jogs are what keeps this so compact and portable so this may take awhile to adjust from the reg sized jogs. Touch capacitive jogs are much better for scratching. I came from vinyl so I’m just naturally light handed. It is pricey but for a 2 ch standalone w/Serato it’s what I want.
*Too many things missing* 😓 - Dedicated Beatjump buttons (instead of track search) - A modern loop control section (its simply archaic) - Censor button with Reverse as shift - Pitch slider with zero LED instead of center click - Pitch slider with 0.01% resolution at +/-4% - Better looking waveforms and GUI - Proper touchscreen (its totally inconsistent) - Aux EQ (single knob would be sufficient) - Midi/Link/DMX/Ableton... all missing - Full track buffering - Key Shift / Sync - Analyzing tracks on the fly - Streaming / WIFI - An SD slot. Seriosuly, why only USB? - Price should be $1600 instead of $2000 Hard pass. I stick with my Prime 4.
Actually, I forgot to mention the lack of an SD card slot - not a biggie but personally, I missed it (actually had to go and buy a USB drive for the review as ours has, erm, disappeared...)
@@digitaldjtips yeah same, I am always nervous about those USB sticks being located at such an open-spaced 'vulnerable' position. Having a SD slot is soooo convenient :s
Really struggling to see why you'd buy this over a prime 4. In much the same price range but Prime 4 seems to give you so much more for your money. Having said that, never actually used any Denon DJ gear so don't know what it's like to live with.
Brand loyalty is a powerful thing, plus as much as people will deride the idea of a club standard for many DJs the idea that all the gear they use has the same ecosystem and very similar layout is appreciated
@@digitaldjtips brand loyalty only works as long as the brand continues to bring out new gear to get customers excited. No way of connecting this unit to anything else they make, no internet, not sure if it has on board track analysis? USB only, no lighting control, only 2 channel, terrible looking wave forms. It all feels very lazy and almost cash grabby, which if rumours are to be believed it probably is.
Pioneer has made an ecosystem that makes everything easy to play on if you are in it. My home/main setup is a ddj 1000. At bigger shows it's just easy to take a playlist from the software I've already been using put it on a USB and play on cdjs. When I used other software for my main setup when it was time to play on cdjs there was a whole extra step of having to re organize my files for rekordbox to play on cdjs which sometimes added a whole extra hour to my music prep. At this point in my career I don't see me using anything other than pioneer, because it just fits my work flow..
@@djstucgood for you if you juggle 3 software programs. For me it was a major time saver when I went to rekordbox in my home setup. Idk if I'd buy an rx3 since my ddj 1000 still works and fills my needs, but if I was looking for something else it would probably still be a rekordbox unit, because of my workflow.
Surprising. And interesting. Key sync is a thing around town you say? I kinda hadn't really though of that. Amazing. And triplets! And Fatboy button! Wooow. Great video as always! 👊
Glad you enjoyed the vid. As I said I think in the vid (I definitely did in thew written review), not everyone uses key shift. But for those who do, this is not a good choice.
So not groundbreaking... I'm thinking: In a world with current shortage of anything with microchips in it: Shouldn't Pioneer simply have released a new firmware update to the RX2 with most of the new stuff in it? Wouldn't that have been better for everyone? - except maybe the Pioneer shareholders
This would have been in the pipeline two or more yes s ago. They don't just think them up a week before release! After spending all that money on development, tooling, software etc, they aren't going to shelve it and release a firmware instead!
No one is holding a gun to your head telling you to buy gear. You just had Gear acquisition syndrome, and are mad because you know you don't need the gear, so you decide to hate on it anyway.

I own pioneer decks. I own demon prime gear. Yes, we all probably agree that the Prime 4 is better. However, what pioneer does well is sell comfort and quality. While they may not be absolutely groundbreaking in their tech, they sure know how to make good, quality, dependable gear for the professional market. The RX3 would feel at home for previous nxs3k and rx models.
I'm backed on djing it was longtime (after I started in 80's on turntables) in 2017 with RX2, and I've say (again) this is the best device to djing 'digital'.. RX3 is a (more) brilliant piece of kit, it has everything we need to start a party and have fun (us and people).. I've pair of CDJ2000NXS2, but I love this and I'd buy just to have best trade off quality/fun/portability.. appplause to Pioneer!
@@digitaldjtips yes.. RX2 was already fine, but more FXs, bigger screen and Cue LINK are very welcome addings.. I think it's the best device to 'bring&play', with Pioneer quality (no Denon hate, but I'm still convinced Pioneer is more reliable)..
Just a knock off of the Denon DJ series @Digital DJ Tips good point. I guess I feel that denon don't get as much exposure as Pioneer. All DJ Gear has a place in the eco system
In short: XZ has inferior speed and screen, but has "pro" features like DVS, Pro Link. It's still the "pro" choice but strictly as a standalone unit, this one is much more fun to use.

Question: How to use sync button on Pioneer DJ rx3 standalone controller when one track is 70 bpm and the other track is 140 bpm? It sounds weird when a 70 bpm track is synced to 140 bpm or the other way around. When I use Serato on a laptop, it will automatically sync them as 70 and 140 respectively, but I am not able to do the same using the sync button on the hardware.
Hey Phil, great vid as always. I wondered if you could confirm if the phono preamps are better quality than the usual "lower" quality Pioneer still in their controllers. Am still looking at moving into digital, is it worth switching this out with my DJM 750 to still spin vinyl at my gigs but have option for digital in the same set up? Thanks in advance bud. Peter
Was going to order one until I seen this review. I’ll wait for something else. I can use my iPad with my dj 1000 or my surface pro so it’s basically the same thing plus I can use djay pro and all the streaming services and still record my set using the howler audio device I purchased because of your videos. I hope pioneer comes out with something similar that’s not the opus quad which way too expensive and the Omni is trash to me. Again thank you for the review so I didn’t waste 2000 dollars since I already own the dj 1000 and the mixstream pro go
Do you own turntables and do multi deck mixes combining vinyl and digital? If not there's no sensible reason to spend more money on the XZ. I mean, there's the jogs, and that's it really. At least they added tension adjust finally, that's one thing I really dislike about my RX2 jogs.
I love the new kit, Been waiting for them to release an update to the RX2 since the RX2 has boring color effects and stuff, I typically just use the filter with my RX2. While I like shiny new stuff, not sure if I'm willing to fully upgrade to this, unless I can exchange my old one or something. I could sell it, but I can also just keep using it, because it can still blend two tracks together just like the best of them. The release FX are nice enough for me to really pull the trigger though.
At which pioneer will I feel a smaller difference when I come to a club where there are CDJ-3000 and DJM-900-NXS2? - RX3 Compact? Or XDJ-700 and DJM-450? What would you recommend? thanks 🔥

@@digitaldjtips I hope to see this at some point in the denons. It would be doable in theory in the prime4 as it has input entries. The SCs don't have inputs, unfortunately.
Dual deck would certainly have been welcomed
Yup, absolute deal breaker.
deal breaker for me two
yep
@@digitaldjtips Not sure that would add any value! Who uses 4 decks with just 2 channels - in all honesty? I'd say very few. Dual layer is perfect with 4 channels but not on this device.
I wish pioneerdj made a new xdj xz with the cdj 3000 jogwheels and fully 4 channel standalone
🤷♂️
(Love the review btw!)
May well happen!
To be fair, the way the library works has been vastly improved, it's very similar to the flagship CDJ-3000s. That's definitely a benefit to DJs...
If you want connectivity get yourself some 1210s
Looks well built but I still prefer my P4. I'm no Carl Cox (for sure!) but I often play 3 decks with the 4th being used to line up the next track. All I know is that I can never go back to 2 channels.
Denon all the way. Much more features & streets ahead.
Fair enough
After watching this again 4 months later, I just realized that it's almost perfect, I think they need to add the ethernet port for Pro-DJ Link, the Key Sync feature and the frequency FXs buttons at least in the form of software buttons in the touchscreen, nonetheless I think it's perfect for anyone who's using Pioneer DJ gear :)
Agreed, apart from (for us) key sync, it's got all you'd expect nowadays at this price point.
Everyone complaining about 4 channel or wifi streaming music. No one noticed that it can play Flac, WAV, AIFF in standalone. Thats the big upgrade from the rx2
Thanks for pointing that out Sean.
LMAO
I pre-ordered mine, upgrading from RX2. After this review, I'm happy I did. Thanks for the in depth review.
No problem
Thanks for weighing in on this one! Enjoy the RX2, still a great bit of kit
Just watch *SUAT* if you do not believe me!
any idea of a release date for xz series ?
@@foodstampz I have been wondering the same thing, this one is gonna be good!
As a lifelong Pioneer DJ, this unit would of been great in the pre-streaming era, but times have moved on and Pioneer DJ’s standalone gear, whether that be there all in one systems or modular ones have fell behind by a considerable level,
While I’m a big fan of there DJ controllers ,especially DDJ 400 which in my opinion is good enough to play on to get familiar with the pioneer nexus layout etc: Need better sound quality add a separate audio interface for balanced outputs or even move up to the DDJ 800.
To me the XDJ-RX3 doesn’t tick all the boxes for djing in 2021 and beyond.
The lack of wifi, ethernet and streaming capabilities really mark this unit down.
If I were to rate it, I would give it a 5 out of 10.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Allan
lack of Wifi?
When the time comes to upgrade it'll be worth a look
Remember its November, still waiting for NAMM 2022.
This will most likely be my next buy !
Thank you for the video
You're welcome Patrice.
Glad you're enjoying it
Denon DJ - it’s almost 2022, let’s get multi core processor
Pioneer DJ:- oh shit, thought we’re still in 2012
Still no music streaming from beatport etc……………wake up Pioneer
It will be interesting to see how things go from here, it will be another few years before Pioneer release another flagship player and all in one unit, they are already way behind, Denon seem to listen to what people want and continue to improve their hardware…………………….its a good time for dj tech nerds like me 😬😬
Yeah I'm sure that's what is holding u back.
@@indegruv what is holding who back?
Not one club in my capital city has house DJ gear anymore. This stopped in 2010 ish when controllers became mainstream. Instead, spin on what you like - Don't worry about what everyone else is doing.
good point! It seems to be the trend for many.
Amen 🙌🏾
Nice one, sounds like it'd work great for you!
*Too many things missing* 😓
- Dedicated Beatjump buttons (instead of track search)
- A modern loop control section (its simply archaic)
- Censor button with Reverse as shift
- Pitch slider with zero LED instead of center click
- Pitch slider with 0.01% resolution at +/-4%
- Better looking waveforms and GUI
- Proper touchscreen (its totally inconsistent)
- Aux EQ (single knob would be sufficient)
- Midi/Link/DMX/Ableton... all missing
- Full track buffering
- Key Shift / Sync
- Analyzing tracks on the fly
- Streaming / WIFI
- An SD slot. Seriosuly, why only USB?
- Price should be $1600 instead of $2000
Hard pass.

Blackhawk - I guess theoretically 2 layers of beatjump pads isn't the same as a 2 hard plastic buttons ;)
I just bought this board 2 days ago it was expensive but so far I like it.

Really struggling to see why you'd buy this over a prime 4. In much the same price range but Prime 4 seems to give you so much more for your money. Having said that, never actually used any Denon DJ gear so don't know what it's like to live with.
because pioneer Is "Club sTaNdARd" 🙄
Idk if I'd buy an rx3 since my ddj 1000 still works and fills

Needed an upgrade from the old XDJ-RX (1) so i'm ok with this one. Delivery times for the XZ are 6 months from now. So they had to do something.
Hope you enjoy it Christophe!
Thanks for watching :)
What Arthur said, plus the screen definitely needed an upgrade
@@djstuc I assume most only watch one video :)
The NXP/FreeScale iMX CPU (or actually its a MPU) in the RX2 is not powerfull enough to cope with these new requirements

Regarding the XDJ-XZ2, whenever it comes out, it really isn't a question of 'when', but a question of 'what' features they will choose to leave out.
honestly, knowing Pioneer, they’d probably only upgrade the screen and interface to CDJ-3000 level. perhaps also give the xz2 the 3000’s jogwheels
We will have to wait and see

In a year everyone will have and love RX3. The question is RX3 or XZ for a first gear? Mostly home usage and house parties. (and I'm not interested in Denon)
I don't think they will to be honest, but Pioneer will certainly shift quite a few to those who it is actually aimed at

I'd love to see an affordable MIDI Battle Mixer from Pioneer A DJM S5 if you will, 4 pads on each side instead of 8 etc, etc for beginner scratch DJs, the S3 is basically a DJM 250 with a serato unlock.

You've hit the nail on the head there XCAVATA, and it's something that feature comparisons don't show you.

While I like shiny new stuff, not sure if I'm willing to fully upgrade to this, unless I can exchange my old one or something. I could sell it, but I can also just keep using it, because it can still blend two tracks together just like the best of them.
The release FX are nice enough for me to really pull the trigger though.

Also almost years later the release of the denon sc6000 or the other denon stuff... pioneer is not able to put something similar on the market.
I prefer denon... everything is top notch with way less compromises... and I have to spend less money to get more.
Well thankfully you have the choice :)
Can you plug speakers into the back of this. ?
Yes of course 😀
He mentioned that it dis not supported DVS... is there any standalone system where you can plug turntables to and play the digital files a la DVS?
XDJ-XZ does it, but only with software, not in standalone mode.
@@digitaldjtips I hope to see this at some point in the denons.
It would be doable in theory in the prime4 as it has input entries.
The SCs don't have inputs, unfortunately.
But imagine that that complementary controller that they released to control the second layer of the SCs is a turntable instead of a jog wheel...
Can I plug my laptop into it and play rekordbox on performance mode?
Yes
do you Buy this or wait for the big boy XZ2 with that screen…..🤔 it can’t be far behind it, but i think i’ll get this and trade it in for it’s older brother when it comes out 👌🏻 let’s hope the waiting list isn’t ridiculous
We say always buy what you want when you want, never really worth waiting.
Is it battery like the prime go?
No.
So it doesn't have a key sync feature, but does it have bpm sync?
It has key sync but not key shift
I’d love to have gate mode in RX2 rather only hot cue.
Have pioneer added the option to use streaming with this for the odd strange request you get as a function DJ I like the idea of this with the Denon prime 4 I have a pioneer DDj 1000 at the moment
No, there are no streaming services built in.
@@digitaldjtips thanks for your reply have you any idea why pioneer haven't done.this the same as Denon
(Edit below)
Why do DJ gear journalists always say "competitors" or "other manufacturers"? It's obvious that they are talking about Denon DJ first and foremost, why not spell it out? It's not like DDJT had to sign a contract that allows them to express their own opinion in the review but *not* mention other brands... right?
Edit: Nevermind, he briefly mentioned Denon and Engine near the end of the video.
You're right, we have no affiliation with any of the DJ companies 😀
Bunch of baby brains who don't understand grown folks business
@@indegruv Excuse me?
Can you prelisten to tracks, without actually loading them on a deck?
Yes
Started djing in lockdown on a ddj400, now playing housies and local clubs almost weekly. Was just about to buy a DDJ-1000 as an upgrade, but now since this has released, really not sure if it is worth the extra money??
I'd go with the DDJ-1000 still tbh
If you already have a decent-ish Laptop the 1000 still the better option imho, even if you don't have Laptop you could buy the 1000+Laptop for price and have way more functionality.
@@bigdaz7272 my MacBook Pro is more than ample
@@louisllewellyn7948 If your sticking with Rekordbox then i would add a 1000 instead over this.
If you might be up for switching platform look at Denon Primes or Rane One.
Waiting is always an option if your the patience type, no doubt they release 1000 mk2 & XDJ-XZ mk2 next year, though the latter knowing Pioneer will be getting on for 3K LOL
The DDJ-1000 is an excellent choice
Is it me or Pioneer gear sound effects are much more professional than Denon? I mean, I’m a beginner but decided to purchase an advanced gear. My dealema is to choose between Prime4 and Ddj-rx3. I found some used devices for under 1500usd. I will practice at home and carry it with me at clubs too. Please tell me which one to buy. I am sitting and digging into these reviewes
Pioneer’s effects are certainly very good and very well regarded
what happened to the global dj network face book group? cant find it anymore.
Nothing, it's still there: djtips.co/family - I see we declined your membership request yesterday, please try again and ensure to answer all security questions
can you use stems on it?
Only if you attach a laptop to DJ from
Demon number 1
any option for verticaly waveworms?
Good question, but no.
@@digitaldjtips Yes if you connect a lap top.
Then you also can get key match and other stuff if you midi map it or use a DDJ-XP1 orXP2 as I do on my XZ and RX2
I have the zx... Will they update our screens !!! The functions are so much better ! I want to be able to use filter sounds separate on each chan do you know how ?
Maybe… we really don’t know though.
@@digitaldjtips I want to be able to have a filter on each Chanel as some times I want to use two types of filter layer ...?
HI Phil, any news from Pioneer for a new controller in 2022.
No we will let you know as and when we have such news!
@@digitaldjtips Thank you. For the moment I just receive yesterday my new XDJ XZ. The truth I would prefer it with a bigger screen. But it's a beauty.
Good evening. I have a doubt. I would like to know if you suggest pioneer xdi-xz or xdi-rx3. I use only two channels but sometimes I use a third channel to attach another source (for example a PC when someone ask me a special song). But I can do this also with only two channel... and for this reason, which console do you suggest? XZ or RX3?
There is an Aux on this unit so you could plug your third source in to that.
Yes, but Which console it is more convenient to buy?
@@dinopaggioff7438 RX3 is smaller, lighter, cheaper, and has a better screen and menu. Unless you're dead set on running a pair of turntables and don't like the idea of flicking an input switch, you'd be a fool to buy the XZ.
#ask - do you think pioneer in the future can send a software update to add key sync or key shift or is this not possible? Seems like an easy patch???
Don't think so, because I don't think the processor is powerful enough,.
2 channels ONLY? Denon Prime 4 is still ahead, with a capacitive touch screen, and much more features.
Yes, like the RX1 and RX2...
@@digitaldjtips ...but with the price of the prime 4
Any news on a XZ2 being released?
No, none so far...
Not for a long time!
