This starts off as a lighthearted enemy-to-lovers story but turns into a power struggle for the throne story. It is very well constructed and the storyline keeps you interested all the way. I loved this strong and capable FL and this calm and collected ML. Well, I actually like all characters, except for the villains (as it should be). Acting wise this is great and the characters are full-bodied and interesting. So, if you are into a mostly lighthearted romantic comedy - with an interesting storyline - this is a “Must watch”. No worries . When first time watching douyin dramas I experienced the same problem like yours, it’s really annoying but sometimes it was so messed up. I remember I watched one of those douyin dramas , the male lead was actually saying something nice to his grandmother, the AI translation popped up with him swearing at his grandmother instead 😂But I finally understood the reason. Netflix sure has great subtitles as you pay for the channel.
This was a great watch. 10/10🖖🏾🖖🏾🖖🏾 Great actors, great acting, great storyline FL is clearly the alpha of the relationship while the ml...........which he really enjoys and owns😂😂😂😂 SPOILER Plot: FL is forced to marry 'weak' ml by her grandpa in exchange for a sword she badly wanted. After getting the sword, she tried every means to divorce the ml but he was resilient not to mention already head over heels for her(Love at first sight?fight?😂😂😂). She is also being chased by four other guys when she is already married, but they all have ulterior motives hidden behind their supposed love for her; maybe except the second prince. The ml is completely devoted to her and she soon starts opening up to him too and so begins the sweeter parts😏. She loses her first pregnancy due to unfortunate circumstances 😭(I really thought it was a fake pregnancy to ward off that king of the south but it was very very real). They have a small break up when the FL finds out what he his secret but GOOD COMMUNICATION solves alot of problems so it didn't even last 10 minutes 😮💨(I am so very grateful for that). They catch the bad guy at the end(sort off) and the traitor is exiled yay!. It ends very very well with a new life for them in every way. ❤

Idk, I just felt this was like an imitation of that but with less spice and chemistry... 😅 the acting was good, it just feels like I'm seeing the same thing redone but slightly worse 🙃 The cast in 'my lady general' is so much more emotive, especially for the betrayal and romance aspects, this seemed to be leaning more into comedy- but still, I'd argue 'my lady general' did better even in terms of comedy😭 If ya enjoyed this, but want more chemistry and drama with darker enemy to lover undertones, I recommend watching 'my lady general' 👀🥰 The ML in this drama is cute but the ML in 'my lady general' is 😘 *chef's kiss level* with seductive housewife/assassin vibes. Also the FL in 'my lady general' feels far more realistic as a general because she regularly trains and has a warrior-like persona as well as actually wearing her general attire for more than just a couple of scenes . I normally love role reversal dramas (fl as the masc general, ml as more calculating and seductive) but this one just didn't suit my taste (perhaps because the FL wasn't as warriorlike as one would expect from a general- like she hasn't even got any army subordinates around her? Anyhoo, lil rant over, if ya like general FL dramas I also recommend 'oh my general', the FL is so headstrong and battlefocused, meanwhile the ML is purrrfect. It has great action as well as romance if ya enjoy a good spinny big weapons fight scene. No wonder she loses faith. Her body, hormones, heart and soul is a mess. She let go of controlling and fighting for a while and everything she cared about is slipping through her fingers.
