Hockey is such a gentleman’s sport. Putting someone’s helmet on them DURING the fight is the nicest fucking thing you could do for someone. Such gentlemen.

I know this is in jest, but in they changed the rules maybe 6-7 years back to make it an additional 2 minute penalty if you take your own helmet off before a fight. Players would take their own helmet off, as a gesture of sportsmanship, before a fight so the other guy wouldn't break his hand on it.

@julius o ACTUALLY, the statistics back up the validity of hockey fights in the nhl and reinforce the value of having enforcers on your team. Example the European hockey leauge does not allow fights or the position of enforcer. And the career ending injuries and illegal dirty cheap hits on defenseless players is extremely high compared to the nhl. Well you might be thinking, why is that?! Lemme tell you why. No enforcers to lay down a big hit on a player who is playing dirty then there’s nothing to fear, I can go cross check or slash the opposing teams Star player knowing there’s no one that’s gonna come lay me out, or beat the shit out of me for doing so. Sooo with that being said fighting in the NHL is literally saving players from cheap shots and dirty players 🤷🏻‍♂️

Reaves wins the fight and the other guy stays rattled because he didnt get his "closure" on the fight. It could still keep popping off, so he has to continue being on his toes. @@Dirtsteelforge Reaves does this after almost every fight and Gabriel wasn't doing anything unreasonable to justify the shit talking by Reaves so I disagree with your excuse. The real reason Reaves talks shit after almost every fight is because fighting is the only thing he can do at the NHL level so he makes a big show of it to try and prove his worth. He was getting handled quite easily in his early career when there were still bigger and meaner guys than him in the league. And wouldnt you want to point out "this is what im here for, and im fucking good at it." Showboating a bit after you did your job well is par for the course in pro sports. And we all know he does it well. Nobody in the league can top him in fights. Hes not doing anything inherently wrong. Its just not what is generally expected out of players.

I'm a simple man: I see a "Let's fucking go!" by Jomboy and I'm smacking a thumbs up on this baby.

Gabriel needs to let go of the jersey and swing that left hook when he does his "move". The overhand right is just going to hit the back of the helmet or you will just miss and throw yourself off balance.

I'm always yelling at the screen "SWITCH HANDS! SWITCH HANDS!" but nobody does. Just load up the right and go. If there was a single technical fighter in the league, they'd beat a guy like Reaves on skill alone. A fighter like Tim Hunter or Basil McRae could give away 40 pounds and would beat any one-handed fighter not named Twist.

@@mikekole I mostly agree with you, but I think people underestimate how much control you have over someone's movement when you're both on ice, but you're the only one holding on. Gabriel totally should switch hands to finish his special move there, but you're at a huge disadvantage when you let go in "normal" squared up hockey fights

I understand that Jomboy is a baseball man, but damn his hockey videos are by far and away his best.

I love when you do hockey, wish other sports would let players settle scores
