Stephen Dillane deserved an Oscar nomination for this, at least.

“It was done for you!” was said with so much hurt in Leonard’s voice it just breaks your heart. Great actors, both of them. ❤️

The amount of amazing acting in this movie is just astounding. Stephen Dillane is impeccable here. And so are Ed Harris, John C. Reilly, Jeff Daniels, Miranda Richardson, Toni Collette... Not to mention the three main stars.

I just narrated this part from the novel! The author really details her psychology and thought process neatly, from her fleeing Hogarth house to her wandering on the streets and buying a ticket to London, her only pass to consuming freedom, it's as though we're seeing Virginia in the flesh

Stephen Dillane's Leonard Woolf was the best. I can't imagine a better Leonard. The intensity and the control with the lines and the emotions is just brilliant. When throws that: "Oh Virginia!", it captured the exhaustion and the threat of being a husband to such a wife.

I experience mental illness daily with a close family member whom I love very much. The emotion and delivery of anxiety and fear Stephen has here is exactly what is felt. Your scared for them and at the same time your frustrated and exhausted and anxious. Careful not to say the wrong thing in case.
    Amazing this whole movie really.🎥

I used to merely consider Nicole Kidman as a popular actress with a couple of popular roles, her fame accentuated by her looks. But this movie really made me reconsider that: she’s too good to simply be glossed over.

Stephen Dillane is so underrated. I know he played the big bad Stannis Baratheon, but people seem to see the character more than the actor (which in a way is a good thing I guess). He's truly unrecognizable in every role.

This is a fien example of costume. I'm so glad the designer didn't design for modern eyes as so many do these days. Her plight is so relatable that her clothing doesn't need to be. The perfect use of accessories make this look stunning despite the fact its drab and thrumpy. Nicole wears it and moves so perfectly in it that you're instantly transported to the 1920s

Fits, moods, blackouts, well, well, these are my favourite things. Once I was so deeply traumatised I couldn't sleep for a week, it's been so hard to be a human being for 4 years. Virginia couldn't deal with what she had. Virgini was a genius. Who're they these modern singer and writers? They're nobody, they have no personalities, no force and she was a master of words.

Astonishing acting. ! Stunning movie ! Remarkable subject - Virginia Woolf and her Mrs Dalloway !
The screenwriter has written that scene so brilliantly, that any average actor would have looked and sounded amazingly in it. ( as opposed to the case of awfully written scripts that even the greatest actors would look silly in them ). I 'm not saying , by any means, that Dillane and Kidman are not amazing actors. Is just that the Hollywood machine rarely gives them a chance ( great movies ) to show their talents.
Is it accurate, though ? 1941 - middle or upper middle class British couple , raising their voices like that on a train station ? Highly unlikely. But as I said the scene is very well written, so it does not seem ' unauthentic '.
