- The search for more victims of the George building collapse continues today.
33 people have been confirmed dead so far, with the death toll expected to rise.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has visited the site and promised that the families of the victims would get the answers they seek.
For what's currently happening on the site of the recovery operation, let's cross to SABC News reporter Lerato Fekisi.

How can the rescue team stop searching for unaccounted bodies while sniffer dogs indicated that there are signs of bodies?
its likely they escaped the building
Victims be patient. Let the recovery be completed. Politicians interfering! Irritating.
It's so sad forbrhe people who died no one knows the pain of losing someone through death unless it happens 2them it doesn't matter who the workers was what matters is someone must take responsibility ❤
No recoveries in the laat 3 days? Have politicians being interfering?
They are expected to retrieve more bodies. On video they saw workers running away from the collapsing building. Most probably undocumented foreigners.
Please make sure DOL checks if the insistence of local labour by the mafia gangs was one of the reasons !
The site needs to be fenced in. There are too many questions to be answered.
Nobody seems to understand the impact unskilled people who insist on working on these sites
Cheap labour is common practice all over South Africa
It is not about cheap labour !!! It is about people who do not have the skills it takes , I am talking about people like the construction mafias who insist on employing people who haven’t layed a brick in their lives to do so !!
And just for the record they do not want to be supervised either !! They come with a know it all attitude !! It happened to my company and i know ! It is an absolute disaster

The term "Construction mafia"was coined by concerned businesses and the public of the Western Cape after Western Cape Government officials and DA politicians were caught red handed in cahoots with criminals.
Yes I don't think the building Mafia were involved but they are a problem let's see what the investigation comes up with I'm sure they will release all the facts about how this tragedy occurred I am only speculating but to me it looks like support pillars structural defect insufficient strenth.
CONTRACTOR BOOKS NOT UP TO DATE WITH STAFF
Thay should still make sure there are no more more bodies left unfound so sad to no inersant workers have lost there Life hopefully they find out soon what realy caused the building to collapse condolences to all those families out there who sadly lost a family member or loved one may there souls rest in peace very sad 😢

RAMAPOSA SHOULD BE IN PRISON
No court in the world sends people to jail if they're not found guilty of the charge brought against them.
That's why we need to vote the ANC out of power
