So, so helpful dude. I know about ceasar ciphers and substitution ciphers but I really, really couldn't work out how to break them. I'd sit there clueless and frustrated. I can see how simple it is now! Thank you again
so with the Cesar Cypher, maybe I missed it but I'm just curious, when the alphabet pretty much steps three letters back, at least from my understanding, don't you technically lose three letters?
when doing caesar cipher you use modulus 26 to help keep it circular. so for example Z = 25. (25+3) mod 26 = 28 mod 26 = 2 which 2 is C. Hope this helps!
No, here's a good way to visualize a Caesar ciphertext- this is the case where the letter is only moved 3 spaces. ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ DEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZABC The letters simply get remapped.
You might be getting distracted by some of the words he is using because they aren't found in normal everyday language. A good first step would be to get a basic book that explains the difference between ciphers and codes, and that explains what words like 'plaintext' mean. Having that basic understanding will allow you to follow what he is saying. Good luck.
@@antediluvianspy5371 if I'm understanding you correctly, you dont understand what he doesn't understand making us all question what it is you both dont understand. Are we understood?
Who would send this message without using a Key or any tips seriously almost impossible to figure out. I'm surprised it's insecure maybe there's a word generator to make it easier to crack

Great series.. thank you. Never stop making these videos, pls
He did. 11 years ago. 4 years before your comment
Such a good thing for jotting down hilarious notes in front of and full view of anyone watching you
Thanks for making these videos, they are really interesting!

@@dominicalessandro186 nah man sorry idk of one, sorry to answer you 8 months later. I hope you found one.
ThankYou for this. Great teaching.
great video with simple explanation, thanks

It would be cool to throw some decoy letters in there too.
Create a substitution cipher with entirely fake made up letters is de way
Nice work!
Am I just to dumb or is his language too sophisticated for me to understand?
Banuji Fernando ur dumb
aryan shah then please do me a favour and explain it in a way a dumb person such as me could understand.

I can't find the answer on the website. someone help please
great video
It's terrible that there is no space in the ciphertext of my assignment.
Can I send a cipher we are having a real trouble over it.
i dont understand anything
Sir how we know about its letter
Wow those 11:11 went by faster than a cats video. Thanks.
This is awesome. I'm smart now lmao
