She looked so good in both dresses, the bold colors suit her well.
The original with Angela Landsbery is one of my all time favorite films. If you can find it, I absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoyed this version. It's a classic.
I remember that one.. It was so sweet. A beautiful pink ball gown with poofy sleeves and a gawd awful bow in front. You make me want to watch it again.
Angela Lansbury made the television movie in 1992.
There was already a german television film in 1982. Ein Kleid von Dior" with Inge Meysel.
Both were based on the novel "Flowers for Mrs. Harris" by Paul Gallico in 1958.
I knew it! I keep thinking I’ve seen this movie before!
I recognized the plot right away. I watched the movie when I was a child and thought, "No way, it's the same one!"
You are absolutely right! It was a beautiful version of the original title …….Mrs. ‘arris goes to Paris”.
actually it's a great movie, at the end bring tears to my eyes
Awww this is such a sweet movie! Il loved it
I read the book when 11. It was wonderful. It made a huge impression - to have a woman from a ‘working’ background with a dream - and spunk. It’s lovely to know the book has been made into a film. Can’t wait to see it.
Yes! I read it as a child in a Reader's Digest Condensed book my mom had. Paul Gallico's characters and wonderful story stuck like glue in my mind. I'm almost afraid to see this movie in case it doesn't live up to my childhood memory. (I do have several of his cat books, collected over the years.)
This movie stole my heart. I love how it features an older, working class woman and her dreams and drive ❤
The green dress was wayyy much better than the temptation dress tbh
I disaggre with you the temptation dress is much more fitting because it has the air of maturity than the green dress tho thats my personal taste tho
@@MeLMeLMox I agree
@@MeLMeLMox yes, it suits her more, as a green one is for younger women I think
Women should be free to wear whichever color they like
I like the red dress better cause I adore red and sparkles.
I think I prefer the green dress to temptation, though temptation did look great on her
Being kind be it big or small act will get you far. No matter the circumstances.
Thank you for posting this recap!
Heartwarming movie
I loved this film, and loved the temptation dress xx
Awwwn. I enjoyed this recap would definitely see the movie.
I love fashion just like most women but I'm not sure I would go through this nonsense! Not even for Dior Couture. Well, maybe for a Kelly bag!!!😂
I’d prefer original dior couture to Kelly bag, tbh. And I love my Kelly
This was a good one! Loved it!
There is a version of this movie with Angela Lansbury as Ada Harris. I watched it so often as a kid.
Such a sweet story 💖
Best recap narrator voice so far! Doesn't sound like a non-English speaker computer voice with mispronounced words. Thank you! Subscribing.
This made me cry thank you
Such a sweet feel good movie about hopes and dreams. Lovely film!
melted my heart
Good uplifting movie with fine performances from the cast.
Wasn’t Angela Lansbury Mrs Harris
Thank you
Remember doing the book flowers for Mrs Harris in form 1 English literature. I was today old when I learnt they made a movie.
There were some lovely costumes in this movie, especially from Natasha :)
I have my notification and everything on and I still haven't got and no notification well actually I have but not on this one
Read the book many times and love the German movie (1982) with sweet Inge Meysel
The original was with Angela Lansbury.
That movie is from 1992. There was a German movie with Inge Meysel from 1982. The German title is: “ Ein klein von Dior”.
@@ronaldm7253 Thank you for the date. I had read the book before watching the movie.
Extra details that was not mention in this recap: The house of Dior sent her Temptation her original choice dress as a thank you for the publicity and taking care of them when she was in Paris, the house still had her measurements from the green dress and used that to work at haste to make the dress. The other lady aristrocate who took awake the temptation red dress from her at the start had became bankrupted because her husband the suposide trash king of paris was arrested or something. Meaning temptation was back etc. best movie, highly recommend it
absolutely beautiful movie
It made me believe and hold on to the good and positive side of life and people #faithinhumanityrestored
Saw it and loved it!
this was the plot of the book "Mrs. Harris goes to Paris"
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
beautiful
just in movies , good will ever happen to people doing good. .. in real its just bad for them
Yep
Good always wins out in the end though.
It's not soldier who visits its an airman that is the uniform of the RAF. Royal Air Force
I don't get these reviews at all. Have people missed the point of this movie???
This movie made the French people seem like nice people 😂😂😂😂😂
Andre is based on Yves Saint Laurent ❤️
title is terrible. it should be "House maid struggle to buy Couture dress because of her social status"
Awwwwwwwww
☺️
Of course, a black model for Dior in the 50's 🤦🏻♀️
Dorthea Church black model 1950 with Cristian Dior.
@@jamsaidemelo1367 Wow, thanks for the info! Amazing the double standard they had, these people were still being segregated back then.
It's possible as it's France - Europe not USA !
This really hurts you down to your soul don't it
@@plantday4680 What? The black model or the woke propaganda?
