Who got sad with the "I'll never get tubby again" article? Gosh. That was sad. In some ways, not much has changed, we still do focus on looks and weight but something about that article, the title, the content that mentioned, just really made my heart sad. I love your videos, I don't want to sound like a downer. ha! I really enjoy seeing the differences and commonalities through the decades.

@@JeannieBASMR Well, I was 17 when I said I wouldn't become obese because I felt absolutely terrible in my own skin, I ate a lot just to make my mum, who's been deprived as a European WWII kid would be happy even when I wasn't hungry or felt like eating. I never did any sports because she felt it wasn't necessary and I was so clumsy and bad at it that I was teased by my schoolmates so I even stopped gym classes at school. But I was starting to get bad cholesterol and skeleton issues as a teenager. So as soon as I was 18, I started changing my diet, ate only what I needed, started doing some exercise and eventually found a weight that I was comfortable in. I'm now approaching 50 and proud to say I'm fitter than when I was a teenager. I agree more inclusiveness is good but I believe in being healthy not encouraging people to be lazy and just be fat because it's easier to stay in the couch or the car rather than walking or biking whenever you have the opportunity. At least in Europe we still can be mobile without a car, even if in some parts of the US, it's probably less common, but still... . Please don't get me wrong, some people do have some hormonal issues and can't do anything about it, but most of the time, it's a question of bad diet and lack of exercise. There's a balance between being naturally slim and healthy, a little chubby but healthy or overweight/obese and unhealthy or skinny and unhealthy.

You are a very special and sensitive woman. You are a beautiful soul. You have so much love in your heart that not even all the sadness in this life can reach you. You will raise your forehead and strengthen your heart always, even in the battle against melancholy and those pains you fight with. I see them, I see you, because I am also on that same path... I can recognize love and pain at the same time in your eyes... Your beautiful green eyes. Keep doing what makes you happy and gives you purpose. You help many! and you don't even know it at all. But by being yourself you are reaching the right hearts.

Thank you!! Jeannie I loved today’s message and walk down memory lane. Oh boy, do I remember being a little toddler in the mid 1960’s listening to Perry Como music one of my parents, favorite crooners wonderful vacations, that I watch on DVD now that I took off of the eight mm movies or just watching TV everything just seemed to always be A-OK….not care in the world. I was probably around four or five years old.in the late 60’s You’re right I lived in a little world never knowing what was going on around me other than when my Godfather my uncle was 15 years old when I was born….I think one of my mother’s younger brothers went to Vietnam and I remember I couldn’t even write and my mom helped me write letters to him on air mail paper I didn’t understand what was going on at the time I didn’t know but I know it wasn’t good though and luckily he did come home. But those were simpler times and I would love to go back to those days. The dreamer I am… I guess for the sweeter times…. I could never be a child today the stress alone would probably kill me and that’s why I have to listen to you so much and I’m very grateful I found you on here just so you know 😊 talk to me every night. Thank you so much. You look beautiful. Your hair looks great.

I remember going Horne’s when I was very little. It was still around, and still a department store known for quality shopping; my grandfather really liked them; there would always be a few Horne’s boxes laying around after Christmas. I just remember the train the store would set up for kids to ride on at Christmas. I loved that train! 😆
So funny, I always say the world should go back to the styles of the 1960s too. All the slim fitting, tailored clothing that was fashionable, and could easily go from day to night. I always tell my husband he should dress more like that because he looks so good in that style. That said, I think everyone does.

I don’t get this!!! Can someone explain this to me? Is it a relaxation thing? I had never heard of ASMR, so I did some research. It says ASMR only triggers a response in about 1% of folks. So, is this about the whispering and falling asleep to this? Seriously curious! Thanks!

    • @JeannieBASMR
      @JeannieBASMR  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

You are not the first one to stumble down a rabbit hole and find weird people like me, talking softly, and flipping through magazines, whispering, making crinkly sounds, and overall being very boring! Lol!
Yes, ASMR is about finding things that may, or may not give you tingles, but may relax you.
Have you ever had an experience, perhaps, as a child, when a teacher was reading a book and using her soft, quiet voice. Maybe it sent you into a nice little daze. Or maybe a boring professor with his blah blah blah voice in a monotone, making you almost unable to stay awake?
That is what we do here. We talk softly, make, gentle sounds, and just relax people from the craziness and noise of the world.
I hope that helps explain it a bit. 🤗 if you’re ever in need of being bored to sleep, my channel is the one for you! ❤️

I was born in May of 1960.
Very interesting read today! People actually got dressed and worn clothes! Not like today where everyone wears their pajamas out go out in.
I read seventeen magazine in the 70s in my teens.

amazing video as always! I don’t know you’re exact age but it’s similar to my mom and hearing yours and my mothers experience with different styles and decades is super interesting. I know that there more than one “70s style” that coexisted at once just like any other decade but I guess I never saw it like that because I wasn’t there. And probably the way Hollywood usually promotes a mainstream style.

I agree your hair does look stunning you look so much younger not you care about looking younger some people don’t care they like looking like a silver fox but I’m just calling it like I see it and I really enjoy this bag thing I was wrong born in 61 was a teenager in the 70s but I remember those styles and it’s fun to look back at it I agree diversity is important I think society right now is condoning being obese and that’s sad because diabetes is a direct result of being overweight dementia is goes hand-in-hand with carrying extra weight so heart attacks it’s a very unhealthy thing so while Kim Kardashian is pushing for that look and it’s run by the elites the Kardashians and all of the magazines not anymore but it was so I think we’re gonna see the pendulum swing back to a healthier look and weight and it is important some people are bigger boned but we’re just talking about body fat so but I like that you say you do you and I do think that’s important everybody gets to do art be their unique self what troubles me is when someone is a guru to everybody but inside there’s something unbalanced and off and that’s when you want to say you know so many people praise and never want to pull the covers off somebody that’s really sparkling bright and wonderful but if somethings off if you’re a true friend you say hey you got some toilet paper on your foot hey you got some spinach in your tea hey so anyway I wanted to share that with you love this video thank you big hugs 😊

Wonderful to see and hear this! I was a teenager in the 80´s which was a lovely time but the swinging 60´s is my favorite era fashion wise, everyone looked so chic!!

It would be interesting to make the confront with a contemporary teen magazine, or even more to see how they developed (if they did) during decades

I grew up in Santa Cruz. My great grandfather built the Santa Cruz Boardwalk Casino. My mother was born there in 1920.
My parents moved back in 1962. Surfer girl, volleyball etc. There is more. It sounds like we lived fairly. Lose to each other. Where did you live?

Ohhhhhhh, can’t wait to dip into this while I’m awake and alive! I tried last night but literally didn’t make it 3 minutes before it knocked me out for the night. Quick observation: I’m shocked that they printed the magazine name across the model’s face. How dumb! It looks so bad.
