i appreciate the honking of the canada geese it is pleasing to hear and it is a million times nicer than the honking of cars in the traffic...nature wins always!!
@@malevoresSame here in Northern Virginia, they’re actually pretty friendly towards me, even the dominant geese that like to pick on the more passive ones.
Holy cow, I just played this outside of my work because I'm worried about my favorite janky-winged goose in this record-breaking weather... HE CALLED BACK! I haven't seen him in over a week! This grown woman is about to cry. I was sure the foxes or coyotes got him, since the "lake" is frozen solid and he can't fly. THANK YOU!!!
I hear and see geese as they fly over my home from time to time.. Used to only see them passing by. .Now, they find small ponds and are raising their babies in our area.. More and more each year.. Full View Like 63
Me too, they are so underrated and get too much hate mostly because of their droppings and aggressive behavior during nesting season. I grew up around them and none of them have ever attacked me, they have such a bad rep and are misunderstood by many.
Ok, good. Well done. Appreciate the variety of calls here. I know what Canada Geese sound like by moving to a remote farm in Powder River County, Montana that happens to be in the migratory corridor for Whooping Cranes and, of course, lots of Geese that don't have narrow corridors! Not here in winter, however, I swear it was a singular CG honking in the late dusk. Didn't hear the exact one but the group near the end was close enough for testifying. And was bracing for a ton of videos to weed through. Again, well done. Landlord was just here on a routine 6-month visit and we were just discussing the total quiet out here, flanking Custer National Park with a single cattle ranch miles down as only other humans. It did NOT distract from the birds' clear audio but hearing the traffic in the background was almost a shock. Was in background of my life for most of it and a bit of an impact realizing that again. This is a bird paradise, BTW. Sudden huge flocks of Sharp-Tail Grouse flying in, roosting around like some horror movie (still on learning curve). 14 huge Wild Turkeys show up (ironically the last 2 weeks of Thanksgiving/open hunting season), roost in trees and wander about yards, mostly ignoring me until moving on ONE DAY after hunting season (this is an 1883 homestead and do not allow hunting). An 18-count Red-Neck Pheasant rooster group claiming area ... the one in charge vanished after months but would see me in window, crow and run over for bread). I counted over 20 hens at the gate. Northern Harriers give me low inspection passes ... until displaced by two huge Red-Winged Hawks. One NH was found killed (back of neck raptor attack) then next day as both RWs in tree outside window I watch a big NH give close challenge passes (I guess). Rough-Leggeds in winter down from Arctic; routinely see large Bald Eagles in the Boast Tree. Goldens and turkey vultures, too. One of many startling dash cam captures was a large Golden Eagle launching up from roadkill as I approached. Sure it was in control but it got in the air then directly at car as if in a divebomb before soaring up and past. In slow motion it reminded me of freak'n Jeeper's Creepers ... and if had not happened too fast to react, I likely would have put it in the ditch (which I DID do with a distracted driver once). Still on learning curve. Documenting via iNaturalist and encouraged as this is a bit of a blank reporting spot on the map. Manifesto ends. Intended just a note on the many birds but had more than I thought and as birders may appreicate if able to wade through. Cheers.

Canadian gooses
Also better than listening to your neighbor's untrained and unhappy dog bark all night.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander
@@dinosar9230Also better than your neighbors flock of roosters that start crowing before sunrise and don't stop until almost dark. 😠🤬😠🤬
@@neoladams8519 If they stop at all
I love to look at geese, they might be mean poo machines but when they aren't they're very majestic.
They're not mean. They're actually pretty docile in new york.
"Mean Poo Machines." LMAO 🤣
@@hiwelcometochilis4178 I mean, they are though
