Coyotes vs. Moose in Rocky Mountain National Park

Although we have seen coyotes attack and successfully take down adult sheep and deer, a moose would seem impossible. Always the opportunists, coyotes will harass and test for weaknesses of any animal regardless of size. Calves are extremely vulnerable if not protected. This exchange of mutual harassment we witnessed is a preview of what to expect should wolves return to the area.

Thanks for sharing. Read about a study in Canada where packs of 2 coyotes up to packs of 5 coyotes hunted and killed 4-9 moose! They bite and tear the ankles so it falls down.
