Unless one like to reset their mirror's every time they get a different truck. Use the oportunity of taking a loan as soon as it's offered. Once you've got your own tractor set up the way ya want, it makes the accepting of any and all other jobs, a whole lot better. Never having to adjust you mirror's and such is a big BIG plus.

You absolutely can. I believe it was added many updates ago. You should see a key binding for it in controls.

Why can’t I start my career in Texas? It only gives me the option to start in California
Not sure. Never had any issue with setting a starting point. Might try a fresh install of the game.
