Chester was an iconic, unforgettable voice! Emily is not Him, nor is she trying to be. She is the real deal though, and I think she did Chester proud in this song. I'm excited for the future of Linkin Park as they move forward.

well said. the lyrics have dual meaning. they work for the LoL worlds 24 but also if you really listen to them so many of them are telling people emily is here to stay, people say they dont want her but theyre still following and listening, emily screams 'this is what you asked for' and that rage is at those 'oh she cant scream like chester' people, who want a dead man to come back to life or mike to end Linkin Park.
the first debut concert she was suuuuper nervous and it showed in her voice, but if you watch the concert in Germany she sounds waaaaaaaay better and sounds more comfortable.
Oh for sure Emily sounds a lot better than she did during her first show. She still does get pretty emotional during Waiting For The End. actually out of all the concert videos I have seen that particular song always gets her
Anyone saying Emily can't sing live are just looking for a reason to hate. I've seen close to 10 vocal coaches react to her live performances and they all love her. It's time to let the haters hate and move past them and just enjoy this new version of LP with Emily. She's a great fit. They're making great music again, playing live again, and its just nice to have LP back. Highly recommend the 1hr interview with the band. It answers a lot of questions.

I kind of saw this song this way: "shes Not Chester she cant do what he does!"
And Mike basically said "alright, bet."
That long scream is proof she can at least do what he does. Not just that she held the scream for that long, but that she held it IN PITCH. There are plenty of people that can hold a scream that long, but most of them probably have it taper off at the end. Shes not trying to replace him, but emulate him and learn from him. After all, he was one of the best.
@@zackaryhaselius2226 yeah shes very talented and brings a new energy to the band for sure. And in time I guarantee people are going to fall in love with her and stop comparing her to Chester. We all loved Chester but that era of Linkin Park is over aside from the legacy he left behind. So I feel completely at peace with this new era and im excited to check out the new album.

Its also how mike shinoda went about the whole thing for me, I love LP but they went behind Chester's family's back as well and didn't tell chesters mom that they were moving forward, when they promised they would. Also chesters son came out and was like "I don't support what they're doing". That's my whole thing. I like Heavy is the Crown too. But between how they did things and all that, it adds another layer of "bad taste in my mouth". I will say though. I genuinely don't dislike the new music, and it almost annoys me that I don't because of all that I've learned about the situation XD.
I will say, though, I like this song, and the emptiness machine isn't terrible. Also, no, she is not TOO bad live, but she definitely has more room for growth. Which if she can pull off, that much I support.

Not a Linkin Park fan, but I have heard some or most of their songs. I like the new vocalist and I think she fits good with the band, but no one can ever replace Chester.
Between “Heavy is the Crown” and “The Emptiness Machine”, In my opinion, I like “The Emptiness Machine” more. Because it’s different and well written.

Some people will never be happy. Either she can’t do the long scream so she’s not as good as Chester, or she does the long scream so she’s trying to one-up Chester. I think she’s great! I am happy that LP is back to making music and playing their old songs live!

Those haters need to stop. I loved Chester but he was terrible with pitch live. He never did the full scream live either. Emily,'s live pitch is near perfect from what Ive heard so far. And a few of the cleaner LP songs Emily sings live are better than Chester.
Its pure hate in them...that is why ..and it sucks to hear them whyling..so desperate..they're closed minded.
