one tip we had to learn the hard way after moving from Canada to the area is that the cholla cactus you have on your land are barbed, and they are notorious for getting into your dogs paws. Once they are in the paws, dogs will instinctively try and use their mouth to pull them out, causing many barbed thorns to be stuck in their mouth. Do a big sweep of any of these if possible!
A lot of Cholla are fine, but it is Cholla like Teddy Bear and Jumping Cholla you have to watch out for. I live in Sonora, Mexico with plenty of Cholla, and plenty of Feral Dogs. I have yet to come across an example of a dog, feral or otherwise, getting caught up with Cholla, but those women's dogs aren't from the desert, so don't know to avoid it. Cholla when planted in the right places, is a decent obstacle to provide a bit of security. So is Prickly Pear Cactus. Cabo San Lucas does have a lot of Cholla growing around it. Cabo is elitist, expensive, and loaded with tourists for a good portion of the year, but has awesome fishing. If you ladies read this, watch your dogs around the Sea Lions when around the water.
Congratulations on taking the leap into having a place to call home in Mexico! Because of the direction the politics were taking in the States we sold our business and home in the Napa Valley (California) and moved to Mexico in 2019. It was the best decision we ever made! The home we sold burned to the ground in a wildfire six months after we sold it and our tourism based business in the Wine Country would have been devastated by the pandemic so our timing was very fortunate. Although we spent time in Southern Baja every year and we searched for homes all over Baja we made the decision to purchase property in Bucerias Nayarit. The main reason we chose the mainland over Baja was the ability to explore mainland Mexico and we love the tropical climate here. We came from a place that suffered from drought conditions for years so finding an area that has ample rainfall was important to us. We have built an incredible life here with a multitude of both expat and Mexican friends that we would not trade for the world. Mexico is a better place for having you two in it and I look forward to watching you build your home. Also, kudos to your filmmaking abilities!
I genuinely can not think of two other people more capable of pulling off having an incredible cabin in Canada, and then building another home in Baja, MX! Talented, capable, workaholics(?) and beautiful, that's a win, win, win folks! 💛💪✌
RV suggestion: We were full time rv ers for 12 years and had land in Oregon, set up for our trailer. Emptying our black water was a real hassle at first. Our answer: we renter a portable out house that they pumped out once a week, but we seldom used it. Instead we purchased a macerater. We connected the macerater to the black water tank each week before they came to pump the outhouse and emptied our tank into theirs. This allowed us to use the RV toilet rather than the outhouse . The macerater uses a garden hose for the transfer. We used the gray water to water our plants. They can be purchased at RV stores and are ready to attach to your rig. Hope this helps. Ken (82)

12 days on the road epic trip in the RV And all that way with no hiccups and Jaz trips on a barbwire fence in the excitement of standing on your land. No cuts I hope. Can't wait to see what you two build.
Driving through America is awesome, so many state parks and things to see. In 2019 we did a 10,500 mile road trip through 17 states with 22 people in 4 vehicles. It was great.
I think one of the big reasons you two get along or not get along but get so many things done and done well and new adventures is because watching me for so long. You both help out at least that’s what I say and I think that’s fabulous. You’re doing what you wanna do😊
I take my hat off to you ❤💙 What a journey. Brings back memories watching this. 2006 me and my two children , 13 and 15, flew over from Sweden and drove 6000 km, Washington DC to San Francisco. I am 60 years old now and when I was an exchange student 1981-1982 I told myself, one day I will drive across USA to really understand how big the country is. Thank you for taking me along on your trip! 🥰
Dog seatbelts? We had our dog latched in thank goodness, hit a deer, totaled the car. Airbags out all safe, with minor injuries, dog totally ok! His Seatbelt clasp bent. I think it saved his life.
I agree, 30 kilo dog hitting your car while driving is bad for the dog and your car, 30 kilo dog flying through your car in an emergency break is really bad. We had our dog always in a harnes when she was in our car. She was only 10 kilo.
I agree. We had a woman crash through our fence at 70 MPH one week after we moved in. She lost her brakes coming down the steep, long hill that goes past the house. She was okay because she was wearing a seat belt but her dog had lots of internal injuries. He had to be put asleep the next day. It was sad.
I wish I had half the energy you two have. All the work you’ve put into your cabin home and now you leave it. Crazy girls!! but how exciting! You are amazing! 🤩
I'm so emotional over this and I can only imagine how much you both are. Im so very excited for your family!! This is one heck of an adventure. Thank You so much for bringing us all along. Good Luck Ladies xo
You girls never fail to amaze me, what an accomplishment to travel so far with trailer in tow. I'm so happy you made it there safe and sound. Can't wait to watch you build your new home there. ❤

I'm in Australia. We only have our own country and whilst it is a really BIG diverse country ... there's just something about saying you travelled through two countries from your home country that I will not be able to replicate in my own home country (Australia). Thank you for sharing this!!

I absolutely love watching you two ladies with your fur babies, Bella & Izzy! What a journey you have been on and are on! Do it while you're young and while you have the healthy bodies to do so! Can't wait to see what you build in Mexico! I have no doubt it will be amazing!! Much love to all four of you!!
I can appreciate the stress of being stuck in an area with a large vehicle. I helped my brother move once. We had the largest box truck you can rent (25' one) with a trailer towing a jeep. We stopped in St Louis for BBQ, turned on a street that was a dead end, and had to back the whole thing up and back out onto a 4 lane city street to get turned around. I can also relate to traveling by vehicle due to dogs. My parents live on the east coast, I live on the west coast, and we pretty much only ever drive so we can bring the dogs with. Though your dogs love the car, one of mine whines the whole time. 30-40 hours of non stop crying.
I LOVE both of you guys SO much! I LOVE that you care so much about your furbabys. You made the back seat so comfortable for their travel. You both show us how big your hearts are and how much you love your furbabys. I love your RV. When you get to Mexico you will have all the comforts of home with you. I'm excited to watch this adventure as you live and build your dream house! I wish you both all of the best that life can give you!
Ive been with you all since way before the cabin and am so proud and excited for you and your next chapter. As a stranger, i got teary-eyed as i see your journey and accomplishments. So well done 🇨🇦🏳️🌈
Jaz, we travel in a 28’ motorhome with our senior dogs. That is why we have it so they can come with us. They are part of the family. They LOVE traveling.
We bought a big truck and 5th wheel to travel as a therapist across the country moving every 3 months or so. We did that for our dogs could have a consistent home. We could oof hads the ccximpany safety us up with apartments but thought it would be better for the pups to be in a familiar setting and not have to go through so much adjustment. We loved having all of our stuff on one place a d not having to pack and unpack boxes and get use to different surrounds. As they say...home is where you park it. Our dogs loved it as well. They are family too and their comfort is very important too. I hate to run into weather while traveling and to hear a tornado warning at 1 am is scary for anyone. We were traveling with a new friend last summer and she heard the sirens going off on a Wed morning and started freaking out. FYI most places test their tornado sirens on Wedensday around 10 am, so don't freak. I would say I don't recommend filling up with water until you get closer to your overnight or final destination for the extra weight in the trailer and gas milage. I know it's way too late but there is suppose to be a GPS app for campers and trucks that routes you around the over passes so you don't have to worry about the low clearance height. Maybe next trip...lol. Congrats in your new home and location. Thanks for sharing the journey.
Yes, we drove a fifth wheel from South central Alaska to our second property In Oregon and on down to New Mexico with our three dogs (two Aussies)...and then back to Oregon, then flew with the three dogs back to Alaska. We have also bought land motivated by our dogs needs. So I hear you! Best of all things in Mexico!
I just bawled my eyes out. What a journey, what braveness. Ladies and pooches, through all the years of following your adventures I can honestly say: RESPECT. May you have the best of times in building your summer home. Congrats and much love. ❤👭🐕🐕❤

As someone who hopes to retire to Mexico one day, you girls are giving me the blueprint for what to expect with this new project. Love, love, love you guys!
Congrats on your new Baja venture!!! Headed down the Baja in time to look eye to eye with new and mother Grey Whales. Haven’t been down in 44 years. Bahia Concepcion was my home! Of all the places I’ve been it’s the ultimate BALM! Stoked!!
Those giant cactus have hundreds of years of age. Please don't destroy them. There are methods to build around them or to move them to a new área. They are precious and very valuable.

Sad 😭 I hope these lady's stay a good team ! I need them in my life .... Expecally to help build a new roof I know they are professionals lol 🤣
OMG. I had the same problem helping my daughter and now husband move from NC to Boston last year. The low bridges came out of no where but I was lucky enough to have been paying attention and got off right before hitting one. Took a bit to calm down and find a new route.
Yeah way exciting... I am also here in mexico... You should look into building your house with air entrained cement. ( air crete) This way the house will be super efficient. Ive built and designed a number of houses and when I do my future house again I am going to do a 4 inch layer of aircrete on the outside. (For comfort, efficiency and durability) then 6 to 8 inches concrete with rebar sandwitched in the middle.( For earthquake, bullet proof and sturdyness) then on the inside run 2x4 walls to hang sheet rock, divide rooms, run plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, molding and more papercellulose insultaion for sound deadening. Perfect house utilities to cool and heat 40 dls per month for 5000 sq feet.

You are so resourceful & creative, your content speaks for itself & makes it a pleasure to watch each week, thank you for sharing your lives with us ☺️ Merry Christmas ladies, you work so hard, I hope you have a little R&R before you start the build 🎄
Try a windshield coating like Rainx or glaco and the difference driving in the rain is HUGE. Can be a lifesaver. What a journey!
My hub & I have watched you from the beginning & you were sure excited when u first saw your cabin in the woods but seeing ur land for the first time after acquiring it has 10 times more excitement in your faces. We wish you the best of luck with your new build & we’ll be with you every step of the way! Love you girls ❤
You guys must be tired...."the sunsets never fail to disappoint"...you must mean not disappoint because those views are breathtaking!
haha I noticed the same, I mean is not the best sunset I've ever seen but I think they actually meant "the sunsets here never fail to amaze" or something like that.
Congratulations ladies that was one heck of an initiation into pulling an RV trailer. Drama free and well done. I waved at you from my winter ranch in southern NM. Now the engineer in me can't wait to watch your build progress.
Congratulations on the long, long, long drive. Happy to see you all safe and sound….the excitement continues. Looking forward to your new build. I’ve no doubt it will be amazing. Much love from Canada 🍁 🇨🇦💖
Happy to have you with us on our journey. 😊🐶

What a long drive for sure. We're settling in and can't wait to get started on the build! 💛🐶
Agree. A woman nearby flipped her car and her dog ran away scared and injured. Unfortunately, they never found her.
I agree. We had a woman crash through our fence at 70 MPH one week after we moved in. She lost her brakes coming down the steep, long hill that goes past the house. She was okay because she was wearing a seat belt but her dog had lots of internal injuries. He had to be put asleep the next day. It was sad.
No words needed... your smiles and tail wiggles say it all!!! CONGRATS!!!!!
Go back to us please from Mexico
We are not in good terms with USA from Mexico
I wish I had half the energy you two have. All the work you’ve put into your cabin home and now you leave it. Crazy girls!! but how exciting! You are amazing! 🤩
I'm so emotional over this and I can only imagine how much you both are. Im so very excited for your family!! This is one heck of an adventure. Thank You so much for bringing us all along. Good Luck Ladies xo
I normally never comment on videos but I was so shocked to see that when you were in NY you were in my town. So cool!
You girls never fail to amaze me, what an accomplishment to travel so far with trailer in tow. I'm so happy you made it there safe and sound. Can't wait to watch you build your new home there. ❤
Awe thank you so much for your kind words. Excited to start this next chapter 💛
That was a great fun video.. You girls are so much fun to watch , never disappoint....
Can't wait to watch your new journey and build.. Be safe, have fun ❤
Thanks for sharing and caring. 😊🐶
I'm in Australia. We only have our own country and whilst it is a really BIG diverse country ... there's just something about saying you travelled through two countries from your home country that I will not be able to replicate in my own home country (Australia). Thank you for sharing this!!
The RV life app is about $ 79 can for the full version and has Rv safe gps and trip planning built in , not sure if the free version has the gps , but you input the rig and it will guide you around low bridges safely
Wellcome to México girls!!!!
Sunny, Sunny days, and very friendly people.
Mexican food, so good 👍😊
So glad you are ok after those storms!!
Congrats for living the dream and joining the exclusive club of TH-camrs living in BCS!
I'm in Pennsylvania. I loved it when you showed the Welcome to Pennsylvania sign. "You've got a friend in Pennsylvania!" What an amazing trip!
Welcome to Mexico, it is always a wonderful place to rest and go for a walk. Baja is the best.
I didn't take any animals, but I drove from Northern Ohio, to Oaxaca Mexico in June. Took me 9 days, with a break down in Puebla.
STAy in US please from Mexico
We are in not good erms with USA from Mexico
@@familyandfriends3519 why would I leave my family in Mexico and suffer in the United States?
No words, I'm mesmerized.
Yay! So happy to have you with us in our pack! Stay tuned.😊🐶
So totllay stoked for you guys! This is going to be an incredible journey buidling your home is Mexico. Can't wait to be along for the ride :D

Thank you for being here and for watching each week. We see your support 💛 Hope you enjoy this new journey in Mexico
Jaz, we travel in a 28’ motorhome with our senior dogs. That is why we have it so they can come with us. They are part of the family. They LOVE traveling.
Exactly 💛 THEY are our family!!!! Love that!
Thanks to all of you for treating your seniors right!
Bienvenidas a la Baja! 👍
Truly a masterpiece, just wow.
I'm so happy for you ladies! Be safe and good luck!
Thank you Ryan! We can’t wait. Hope to have you with us for the new build in Mexico 💛
Oh, you beautiful girls. I am so excited for this new adventure and so grateful that I get to come along with you (nearly) every step of the way. So, so proud of you!
We would never ever. 3 protected species on our land. We are amazed by them. Will share this Sunday :)
No words needed, your smiles speak volumes! Anxious to follow you on this next adventure!
When my 8 year old grandson visits he always asks to watch the ladies who build things. 😊 Now he wants to be a carpenter!
“The sunsets here never fail to disappoint” - hahaha Crystal bless your sweet heart after that long drive! We totally get what you’re saying and so excited for y’all’s next chapter in Baja!! 🤗
I absolutely love that you guys have figured out this fantastic lifestyle so young!
Congratulations
Right I'm still trying to train my 40 year old ... Lol he ruined our RV this year he said he winterized it and he didn't .... Can't believe everything some one you love says 24/7 .... Sad 😭 I hope these lady's stay a good team ! I need them in my life .... Expecally to help build a new roof I know they are professionals lol 🤣

We are not friends with USA from Mexico sorry
New Mexico, my home state. You still feel like you're driving.
So cool! 😊🐶
You two are a inspiration for me. you make me want to experience all this world has to offer. Keep living your life. Love you both.
OMG. I had the same problem helping my daughter and now husband move from NC to Boston last year. The low bridges came out of no where but I was lucky enough to have been paying attention and got off right before hitting one. Took a bit to calm down and find a new route.
Bienvenidas a México 💚🤍♥️
muchas gracias 💛💛
Good luck. I moved to Mexico in 2004. Great choice.
Go back to us please from Mexico
I did 18hrs from Colorado to Texas and back, every six months, and it exhausted me!!! I honestly would love to know your tips for such energy!!!
Stay safe there have fun
Yay! Thank you for your support!😊🐶
Just drove with husband and 3 dogs from Texas to BC, Canada. Why yes, we are having a GREAT time! Soooo beautiful.
Welcome to B.C.
Roughly what area are you in?
@@scottstewart3884 we were in Vancouver last time but this trip we are in Hope (precious little town east of Vancouver). The Fraser Valley is INCREDIBLE!!! The beauty is breathtaking. We are going to leave early so that we can come back to stay in the summer to use up the rest of our 6 months. Considering applying for pr. Just love it here. Can't compliment this province enough.
@legalpuppy8602 You can Say I'm "beyond Hope" 😆 I live about 7 hour drive north of Hope. Enjoy your Stay.
@@scottstewart3884 thank you. So happy to be here.
The first thing you do is throw that POS GPS away and get a good Rand McNally road atlas never trust electronics when driving
Thank you for showing/sharing your tornado alley experiences - not enough people take it into consideration. Your message will help others!
Yayyyy I’m so ready for this new beginning I can already tell you guys are gonna make this place amazing
Congratulations, enjoy the new life in Mexico.
