I appreciate your various videos on the Holocrons. They are something I've enjoyed since discovering them. Being able to realign the corners made me very happy. Thank you.
I had a bad corner on the "hard" side, it wasn't actually too hard and I didn't have to break anything. I removed the circuit board and disconnected the power cables. Lifting the board there was only one screw underneath and I was able to loosen that and realign the corner. Good tutorial though thanks for sharing!
Do you know how to get the sith and Jedi holocron merge together well because my Jedi one always have trouble reading the sith holocron like it will turn purple but go back to blue
you could try, but to be honest, holocrons corners are usually loose to begin with. if it will sit flat on all sides when it's off then the corners don't need to be fixed.
The battery in the holocron is rechargeable. There's a micro USB plug on the bottom. Plug that into a USB charger and it'll charge up the battery in the Holocron.
Found a possible easier way just now. Not sure if it will work in all cases. Turn the functional corners then gently turn the one that’s not twisting in the opposite direction. It clicked twice and aligned it.
I don't. It's not something you can buy on its own. Maybe keep an eye out for a broken holocron on eBay? Maybe you can make a simple replacement one out of some cardboard and tape. It seems like it'd be a simple enough shape to recreate with cardboard or posterboard. The important part is that it needs to be wide enough to just fit inside, so that it'll trigger the button in there to let the holocron know the tray has been closed. A more permanent fix might be to get a replacement tray 3D printed. I don't know aware of any 3D models that have been made of the holocron or the tray. Someone would need to design one or 3D scan one. I'm not familiar with 3D design software and I don't have a 3D scanner. Maybe someone in #makerspace on the discord server (swgediscord.com) might be able to help.
the sith holocron? the procedure roughly the same, except the screws for the sith holocron are hidden by plastic plugs. removing the plugs is a little tricky. the plugs are easy to find, but to remove them you need to dig into them a little with a hobby knife and pull them away from the holocron. i try to jam the blade into the plug from the seam between the plug and the rest of the holocron so that any marks i make by cutting into the plug are hidden. once the plugs are removed, the screws can be unscrewed and the holocron cover comes apart. then the gears can be manipulated to get the corners back into alignment.
@@Ruthsarian hard to say. She did it so fast. It was the Sith holochron. She opened and closed the corners a couple times and suddenly they lined up. I suspect she did just force it. BTW I added the extra led to the droid controller like you showed. So much nicer to see when it's on.
e-mail Disney's Merchandise Guest Services at merchandise.guest.services@disneyparks.com. They might be able to replace it for you. if you can't or don't want to go that route, it's hard to say. there are a few things to try. first, what makes you think it's not charging? it could be charging fine, but something else is broken, so some detail will help. plug the holocron into a USB charger or battery pack. what happens? it should glow red to indicate it is charging (or at least trying to). with the holocron plugged in and 'charging', can you turn it on? if not, then the problem may not be charging the battery, but with something else. holcrons have a lithium polymer (LiPo) battery inside. there is a circuit in the holocron designed to protect the battery from being over-charged and over-drained (either of which can damage the battery). it's possible the battery is currently over-drained. some charging circuits will try to charge a drained LiPo very very slowly until they reach some minimum voltage. that can take hours. try leaving the holocron connected to a charger over night. that may bring the battery back to life. there is a hidden switch that's part of each holocron which can be used to disconnect the battery. you can find it by locating a small slit on the bottom of the holocron near the USB connector (see th-cam.com/video/HdSXVeXQB48/w-d-xo.html). there may be some debris in that slit that's causing the battery to be disconnected from the circuit. Try blowing air into the slit to free up any debris. You could also try inserting a thin piece of stiff paper or plastic (I find cutting a sliver off a business card works well) into the slit a few times to free up a stuck switch. if your holocron, while being powered via USB, does not turn on, then it's possible the microcontroller that runs the holocron has crashed. you will need to reset the holocron. resetting the holocron can be done by disconnecting the battery from the holocron for a few minutes. you can disconnect the battery using the switch I mentioned in the previous paragraph. cut a sliver off a business card and stick it into the slit on the bottom of the holocron. leave it there for a few minutes. then remove it and try powering your holocron on.

Picked up used misaligned holocron today for cheap, less that 15 bucks l. Your vid made it super easy to fix. Now it’s like new thanks!

Excellent tutorial - my son accidentally misaligned a corner and was in tears, but I was able to easily fix it by following these instructions!
If the corner that’s misaligned is on the usb side how do you take out the internal assembly?
Thank you for this tip!!

Can I go through these steps and just tighten the screws if my Holocron's corners feel a little loose?

How do you change the battery when it dies?

Do you know of any way to get a new tray for the Holocron? Bought one secondhand and it didn't come with the tray?

Can you do the with holocron

"a bit of force"? I think you will find the holocrons are greatly endowed with the force actually..
Thank you for this video, too bad it’s not the same set up on the Sith Holocron. Mine is misaligned.
Had the same issue. Brought it with me to Dok Ondars. The girl took it, made some moves like she was solving a Rubiks cube and handed it back, fixed.
interesting! i wonder if she just forced the corner to turn or if they've got a technique to realign the gears at Dok's.

I didn't have to take out the wire. But this helped correct the misaligned corner
