Welcome to The Fab Forums. My name is Kyle Voss and I am a maker that produces Custom Automotive Fabrication content of all forms for you. Carbon Fiber, TIG Welding, Metal Shaping, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Custom Choppers, and everything in between. I work hard to bring you new content on a weekly basis.
Here are some of the builds you can find on this channel.
I have built several Chevy trucks on this channel. The first was my 1964 C10 named Crown Spoyal and the most recent C10 truck project was the 1969 I currently have named the Black Pearl.
I am also finishing up a custom twin turbo Ford Mustang build I call the Gray Goose. It’s a 400 cubic inch Windsor style engine with twin 70mm turbos. I am hoping to make around the 1000 horse power mark to the tires on this particular build.
Last but not least is the one off custom hot rod build called the Bibbster. This is what I call a modern day hot rod. It’s made from an old Ford Mustang foxbody, but made to look like an old school open wheeled hot rod.
I also feature other fabricators and shops like Cutworm Specialties hand formed aluminum wide body kit for a BMW e46. Jeb Greenstone has also built a twin turbo, coyote powered model A style hot rod from scratch, and is currently building a Toyota TE72 wagon drift car powered by a 1UZ Lexus v8. Jeb’s custom fabrication skills are fun to watch and always make for good videos.
Check out my playlist to see some or all of these builds.

“Now who wants to Buck?” (Driving solid *hot* rivets)
Yes, and I *DO* want this tool!
I use that tool to set tubular rivets that are used on the mid year corvettes
Excellent tool. Every aircraft builder needs one period.
Dude you must have the "Ever Mans Dream Tool Box" you never cease to amaze with all the stuff you have....
lol...im sure. I do have a lot
Hey Kyle. Cool riveter.👌 Awesome to see another You Need This Tool video. I used to watch 'em every Friday after work and my daughters' ears would perk up during the intro.😁 Now, one is in college and the other is in the 10th grade. Listen to this ol' fool when he tells you, we appreciate what you do and don't blink because those younguns grow up too fast. Y'all have a great weekend!👊
Thanks man
I do leather work and I like to use solid copper rivets, but I don't like using a hammer to set them, (too noisy in an apartment). I saw this tool online, but there was no demo. Found you on TH-cam. Thanks for the demo. I'll probably buy the tool.
Thank you for giving us a shout out! We love your videos.
There are different versions of this tool. There are hand hydraulic versions, air powered versions and electric versions. Those can compress larger rivets, and aren’t tiring. Good for when you’ve got a lot of rivets to do, in a business with a lot of sheet metal work.
But if you think this manual version is expensive, think again. The others can cost over $2,000 depending on the capacity. But a tool is a tool. If you need it to make money with, and it lasts for many years, it’s still cheap.
Thanks I've been looking for a tool to do this nicely.
Love your videos, Man! Get to learn a lot about some really cool and very useful tools for metal work. Thank you!
Kyle, great to hear from you again ! Love the tool show's ! Keep them coming , thanks !
thanks
It IS Friday foooooool!! And glad to see another Friday fool err tool video!
Funny I was just looking around for a tool like that ! Thanks
welcome
Good Ol' C squeeze. Use these all the time on helicopters
nice
That's a rivet squeeze the jaws are called rivet sets.
Common sets are #3,#4,#5 and you can get flush sets and dimple dies for flush rivets.
Don't use air hammers to shoot rivets get a proper rivet gun 2x,3x a or 4x that's how they drive.
That’s a nice tool.
Cooolll Tool 4 This Friday Foool, God Bless All
Thanks
Ive built one that you put between the bench vise and clamps down for bombers seats and panels interiors
I would recommend a video on how to determine what length rivet you need. They have gauges but not for solids. The half hollow rivet is called a hollow tail rivet if people were wondering.
thanks
Good one dude you got me on that one
I want one of these I don't need it but it would just look cool hanging up.
What a wonderful Friday... I'm First and I want to wish all the viewers a fabulous & productive weekend!!
Welcome back !
Brass rivets look good against aluminum panels
CoolVideo i suffered a Traumatic BrainInjury that caused some Paralysis in one Leg and Arm. to Walk now i use a Cane and a Custom made Leg brace that is held on withVelcroStaps Riveted to a Fiberglass (basically ) shell that stiffens my leg and Foot but still allows me to bend my Knee to take normalGates in my Steps those Velcro straps are attached using Squeezw Rivets that are Flat and Flush on both sides they call themSpeedynRivets and i had one Pop on me on Vacations that i hand Bucked back together because i was 1000 miles away from the shop that builds my Braces without the Brace i need to ride ina Wheelchair so to avoid that i fixed it
I do need this tool. Thanks for sharing Kyle, I wondered how those type rivets were compressed.
I guess it's quite off topic but does anyone know a good site to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Elon Prince flixportal :P
@Briar Bodie thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I really appreciate it !
@Elon Prince Happy to help :)
What size semi tubular rivets were you using in the video? They were stainless correct? The reason I ask is the ATS website says it works on rivets up to 5/32” aluminum or 1/8” steel?
I have this tool!)))
Hello I was wondering if this will work for self piercing rivets for body sheet panels? I am doing the raptor bedside conversion on my 2020 f150 and want to use the same rivets that are in the stock bedside panels.
I was just looking at the aluminum ladders at work the other day & they have that style river in them. I was wondering what kind of rivets they were. Interesting. Ha.
Nice unit but not big enough for automotive. Need to squeeze 5mm solid steel rivets.
Do they make 1/8 banks rivets
Spray foam for days
After watching for years I still don't know what he does for a living
Make TH-cam videos
🤠
1:21, should be in every man's living room...
lol...would make cool wall art
@@Thefabforums 0:04 should be in every man's cave and the woman isn't too bad either.
Would this work on a window regulator roller rivet for a 1980 Vette?
Awesome tool. How's the bibster coming along. Love the shop updates man that's going to be awesome when you're finished
Bibbster has been making no progress....gonna try and get some work done this week though
Well man I can't wait keep up the great work
Do any of those tools do open rivets that are empty in the center like on belts or gun holsters??
Yeah the one I did was an open rivet
Jesus said Call no man fool
Hey Kyle I guess your not going to Pits this weekend.
Nah gonna skip this year
@@Thefabforums Well if you're going then I'm not going. I just wanted to see the grey goose in person. Maybe next year.
@@Thefabforums if you are not going. Lol
@@tstepp8557 will be back next year for sure
Is this a air capital squeezer? I'm teting to find a good one to do some 3/32 rivets
Oh I know Mrs. frankina your cousin she’s an assistant principal at my school
Lol...that's rad!
Anddd they couldn't ship to my country 😭😭
👍👍👍👍
Downfall of this tool? PRICE..!! Lol
yeah its not cheap
Unfortunately. I need one bad, but hate spending the money on it, when I have the $10 item that requires a hammer.. lol
A long gone past friend of mine invented that stainless steel riveter (Don Townend, Tatco Rivet Squeezer) what you have there is a chinese copy of his tool. . . .www.tatco.com/
Mine is made by ATS.....not sure in what country
What a wonderful Friday... I'm First and I want to wish all the viewers a fabulous & productive weekend!!
