So, you know how the stones at Spawn are called Sacrificial Stones? Maybe it all comes full circle and the final boss is gonna be at spawn once you hang up all the trophies.
@@GamingwithKristi How so? It's not possible to build on or even near the sacrificial stones, only about 50m away at closest, so even if people have stuff that close to them, I reckon it would still be far enough away for it to not get in the way. The only thing I have there is a lil portal hut to quickly switch the forsaken power and losing that would mean nothing. Some people may have their main base right next to the stones, but even so, it would not only be at that long minimum distance, but presumably also in just one direction, rather than surrounding the whole thing, (unless they got rEALLY into building,) so I would assume that most of the time, they could just kite the boss in the opposite direction, away from their base, and a couple metres of that would already be enough. Simply put, because of the limitations, I doubt many people would ever have to worry about a big bossfight there breaking their stuff.
Idk how many individual players have big builds at spawn. But I know that it's very common on community servers to build all around spawn. We always do this on the Happy Gamers servers so if the server has advanced to higher level mobs at night/raids and we have a new baby character come in, they won't get creamed in a death loop immediately. I don't know how plausible this is but I would love the final boss/biome is outside the edge of the world, like they give you a boat that can fly past the edge of the world
Let me preface my comment by sharing that I have 1,361.9 hours in Valheim currently, but I completely stopped playing after getting a taste of Ashlands. It goes a little something like this: Meadows = lovely biome that I loved building in and exploring, mellow and relaxing. Black Forest = lovely biome that I loved building in and exploring, the trees are so cool. Swamp = spooky and depressing, but it has a cool aesthetic. Mountains = lovely biome that I loved building in and exploring, amazing snow and caves (blizzards are pretty annoying though). Plains = cool enough biome that I loved exploring, Fuhling camps can be quite challenging. Mistlands = stunning biome that I loved building in and exploring, the verticality is a real pain in the ass and the enemies piss me off (not to mention the mist, even with a wisplight), but what a visual treat. Ashlands = I can't stand it. Me and a friend immediately jumped in as soon as Ashlands came out, and started finding the needed materials and getting ready to find the place. We made the huge boat, etc. and started sailing south and after what seemed like forever, we finally got there. The waves kept making the boat glitch through the water, and we were bombarded by flying fiends . Once we got on land we started exploring and discovered that there is no down time there. It's just constant attacks, smoke and lava. We played a little over an hour after that, dying repeatedly, and stopped. I haven't had the urge to play Valheim since, even for the cool biomes. Ashlands just seems to punish you for being there, and there isn't anything appealing about it to counteract the bad things. The enemies look cool, so there's that.
Yeah the lack of downtime is annoying. I like the mobs, music, horizontal nature of the map (huge relief after Mistlands having more mountains than the Mountains), and the new weapons. The way we acquire Flametal and upgrade paths like Iolite and Jade is also amazing. But for the love of Vidar, those mob spawns are oppressive even after the nerf. Still a lot of fun though.
Ashlands is a biome that relies way too heavily on combat, almost forfeiting a good aspect of exploration/building. The problem is: Valheim combat isn't good enough to make anyone want to repeat it ad nauseam. The desync is awful for multiplayer, making Ashlands even worse on servers. It's probably my least favorite biome, the fatigue is too real.
@@0801436The problem is, I don’t WANT to be there at all. The harsh nature of the place was why I stopped playing, but the ugliness and lack of wanting to be there at all is why I didn’t come back, even if there were nerfs. I can see I’m not the only one either, judging by some of the other comments. Unfortunately, ‘Git gud’ ain’t gonna cut it. I’ll be interested in Deep North and any new updates (please devs make magic users viable from level 1 instead of starting in Mistlands…mods have already done this), but at that point I’ll just cheat my way past Ashlands.
The ability to tame drakes and give them a saddle made from super rare materials for exploration (make them very squishy once tamed) and or the ability to tame 1 Gyall per person -per play through, also making the gyall saddle mats extremely difficult to get or super rare drops from gyalls (also make them super squishy after taming) for exploration would be so so so ooooohhhhh sooooooo awesome .

I really hope they do some kind of dlc content. It would be awesome to go back and fight the bosses by summoning them with endgame items so they spawn an elite version with unique drops that can be used to craft stronger endgame dlc weapons and gear
I trust the team so, as a fan, I'd only suggest that the main progress loot and difficulty level of the Deep North should be the same as in the Ashlands. Players in an open world game shouldn't be railroaded into going all the way south and then all the way north, either pick should be equally productive and only the regional loot should vary to make the long trips worthy. Either way should lead to the next biome (the giant branches on the sky, maybe?), if it's ever going to be one...
What really is lacking - quality of life changes. Modders are filling in, but you shouldn't be discouraged by those. In fact you should be embracing those changes that players love - implement them and even better.
Completely rebalancing magic would be cool. Having magic be available in the Black Forest instead of the Mistlands would give it more time to shine and encourage players to try it more since it's way less crippling. Introduce new weapons and maybe shift existing weapons around. Dropping magic in the Mistlands feels so bad... it's so crippling starting a new playstyle in a high level zone.
They really really need to tweak the mage items in this game. The power of magic while being forced to use low armor and low health food just doesn't justify how squishy you are for the damage you deal...
I would've seen a lilttle endgame loop that takes a loooot of time to achieve, like loops to enchant weapons, or upgrading them, or crafting a legendary weapon that requires another 50 maybe even 100 hours to grind to get it.
