Three things have contributed to the decline in fishing at Mauch Chunck. 1. The lake is sitting in. I started fishing there in 2014 after I retired from the Army. The upper end, where the stumps are, was three feet deep in 2014, there were hundreds of fish up there. Now it is barely 12 inches. 2. The vegetation changed from grasses, which was great for the prey fish and the predators, has been replaced by Lilly pads, which doesn't attract and fish. 3. The county conservation center made it known they would like anglers to drop off caught fish, which they feed the the caged raptors. Many hundreds of fish are removed every winter. I rarely fish thete anymore. Years ago I'd catch 20 to 30 nice sized bass and huge pickerel in an evening after supper. Now, if I catch three or four, it is a good day.
Thanks for the video - I think you have the fish out of water too long - a quick picture would be fine

Silting in is a common problem at many lakes. It’s an expensive problem to fix.
