    It seems the nes squares have a somewhat different sound, a bit warmer/happier. Nice work!

    Seems cool this tracker, I only used deflemask so far. (But MarkTracker would be a cooler name)

      Héctor Schons Leandro Deflemask's layout and design are definitely more trivial in comparison to Famitracker/SN7Tracker. It's actually significantly easier to use. Would recommend, it's actually a pretty good beginner's tracker.

      Joblez I I use OpenMPT for anything serious, so maybe I'm tainted by complexity.

      Colton Turner It's not too bad of a shift between OpenMPT and 0cc Famitracker, I use both and it's pretty comfortable for the most part.

    WAIT, THE NOISE CHANNEL CAN BE USED FOR MELODY AND RYTHYM, AND NOT JUST AS A DRUM?!

    • @Whelkman
      @Whelkman 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Typically one uses either 3 squares or two squares plus noise, but there are tricks to cheese four channel audio.

    Does this tracker have support for chip registers to be shown, and YM2413 support?

    Hey VinylCheese, I hate to come bearing questions, but how do you stop the CH3/Noise conflicts in SnevenTracker, and what are some good visualization tools for chiptunes? All I know about is SidWiz/SidWiz2.

    • @SwissVinyl
      @SwissVinyl  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not knowledgeable on visualization, as I haven't really looked into that. What are you trying to do with the noise/ch3?

    • @TastySnax12
      @TastySnax12 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know if it's a bug or if happens in hardware, but when CH3 is playing a note, the noise note C-# will lower from a hat sound to a low rumble. Any suggestions?

    • @SwissVinyl
      @SwissVinyl  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, so if noise is set to C-#, it's in copy mode, which means it uses the pitch value from CH3. This is how I do the noise channel pulse bass. If you want C-# to play on its own, you have to stop any notes playing on CH3.

    • @TastySnax12
      @TastySnax12 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, that's pretty dumb. I wonder why all of the other noise pitches work ok?

    • @vuurniacsquarewave5091
      @vuurniacsquarewave5091 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 3 other pitches are "built into" the chip. The CH3 mode is the only way to get anything else out of it other than the 3 basic white noise and periodic noise sounds.

    Have you finished with the MSX style remake of Final Fantasy?

    • @SwissVinyl
      @SwissVinyl  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do apologize, I haven't worked on it at all, though I promise to now begin work on it again today, since I've put it off for so long.

  • @TastySnax12
    @TastySnax12 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Huh, never heard of SnevenTracker before. I've been using DephleMask for anything not NES.

    • @SwissVinyl
      @SwissVinyl  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's a relatively recent development, a modified version of FamiTracker to support the Master System's sound chip, if I remember correctly.

    • @TastySnax12
      @TastySnax12 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Nice, maybe they can do Game Boy or C64 in the future.

    • @SwissVinyl
      @SwissVinyl  8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I'd certainly like to see a more user-friendly C64 tracker.

      VinylCheese
      It's part of a larger plan to create a truly universal tracker using the FM interface, if HertzDevil's statements are any indication.

    • @TheBeeshSpweesh
      @TheBeeshSpweesh 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Deflemask supports the C64 sound chip. :)

    HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO MAKE IT SOUND LIKE THE NES VERSION!

  • @earthsteward70
    @earthsteward70 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is the same chip they used in TANDY-1000 computers, right?

    • @SwissVinyl
      @SwissVinyl  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure... I don't know too much about that computer.

    • @earthsteward70
      @earthsteward70 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      well it generates 3 square channels and one noise channel, one could reasonably compose the tandy chip as well as the SMS chip

    • @Whelkman
      @Whelkman 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The earliest Tandy models use the SN76496, same as Master System and Game Gear. Later models use a clone from National Cash Register.

    • @leoleonvids
      @leoleonvids 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Master System uses a SN76489, while the Tandy 1000 has a SN76496, which is basically the same thing with a lower frequency range.

    this sounds too sophisticate for master system :p

    • @ben_bun
      @ben_bun 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. This isn't made to emulate the system's sound capabilities.

    • @Nikku4211
      @Nikku4211 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It uses the stereo commands, which is something Master System can't do, but Game Gear can.
      Everything else though, nah.
