Aren’t the fonts two part soldered?

Thanks for the dent info. I had not thought about making something to maneuver inside the font itself. I had my mind set on pulling instead of pushing. :)

I wish I knew what they use to "starch" the mantles to keep them stiff until they get burned. I can get larger mantles here where we live used in the fishing boat lamps that run on large tanks of Butane.
I will try creating a form to place over the mantle that can be heated from below. I will try a starch mixture from tapioca and see what happens. It has the same sheen when you drop a bit of it on a hot stove top.
I have read elsewhere that mantles that you can buy online from the Philippines are still doped with thorium providing that most sought after glow.
Thanks for the information, will let you know the results of my experimentation.

Can you recommend any of the currently available metal lamps? The aluminum camp lamp? I’ve heard some leak?

I don’t know about leak problems with any current lamp. Glass will never leak and you can how much fuel in it.
      Just don’t drop it.
      Cheers

Sorry phone call. What I was trying to say is you can use for tools to repair brass musical instruments. They are made to take out dents and smooth brass. If the dents are really bad you can warm up the brass as you remove the dents. Brass hardens as you work it so its important to anneal it. If you have a lot of damage you are trying to undo.

So sad everything being done is out of view. Either by hands or out of frame. Unfortunately wasted footage.

You seem to complain about my video quality a few times. I have 46 likes on this video then your comments.
You pay for what you get sometimes. You might want to search for other channels to get this type of content and let me know how many you find.
      Cheers

Yeah, you get out of it what you put into it. If you're going to go to the trouble of making a DIY video, why not put in the effort to make it worth the time to create it, or watch it? Some of us can decipher what you are doing but not showing, and mumbling but not saying. Many will not understand what you purported to demonstrate.
Oh! That's right. It's free! Sometimes, free costs more than it's worth. Sometimes free isn't worth the 5-1/2 minutes spent watching the relevant portion of the video.
You're right. There's not much else out there for content covering these questions. But you have 3000 views. Somebody is looking for these answers. There will be a steady trickle of people looking for these answers for years to come. You could tap into that viewership. Or you could be flippant and say, "You might want to search for other channels." But you don't need to, because we already know that. Your video makes that quite clear.
