    Mine just got here, I love it. I’m into the wpl/mn stuff and this is the best mn has had in a while. This is super fun right out of the box to trailing and easy upgrades. The tires are the best iteration mn has to date. I think they are softer than wpl’s latest too. Great truck.

      @@suvsteve I bought a second to trick out lol, I can’t wait until the royal blue pro version comes out. Have you seen it yet, I wonder if it’s just aesthetically different or if something makes it pro. The mn Mercedes thing, the 96 maybe, all the doors and back open. That looks cool too.

      So far it just looks like it comes with a roof rack and bull bars.
      But I do like the colour of it 😊
      I should of had 2 but one of the sellers is messing about and I don't think it's coming so will have to order another when I get paid I'm hopefully getting a refund through AliExpress.
      Ultimately I think I will have all 3 😊
      And I have seen the navy one on AliExpress but it says sold out so they should be.
      Being released soon 😉😁

    👋
    So this portals need some space inside the rims...and if you want to put more scale rims (let say 1.3") there will be no room inside new rims or they will be sticking out 🥲 (depends on rims dish)

    • @suvsteve
      @suvsteve  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I've already seen someone put the original 5mm hex MN axle's on one with some wpl V4 tyres and it definitely looks way more scale

  • @aces6262
    @aces6262 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Tires looks too big to be scale but WPL's V3/V4 tires should be able to make fix that, modulation seems similar to the MN82, all in all looks great. I look forward on how you would further customize it yourself!

    • @suvsteve
      @suvsteve  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah the 1.55s I fitted still looks a little large but much better fit than the stock but yeah possibly performs a little better than the 82 was less bouncy and it performed well on the trail 😊

    Actually, the model itself looks pretty cool, actually looks like a 1970's Range Rover, the additional wheels looked the part, the original ones were horrible, but all told, a pretty decent review, well done 👍

      @suvsteve  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah I think the navy blue will be the pro version.
      But I'm actually quite digging the baby blue 😊
      I might fill in the hole's on the roof and paint it white.
      Or just leave it as is but it definitely quickly grow on me when I got rid of those ridiculous wheels and it's a decent performer the trail video will be up tomorrow at 4.30pm 😁

    • @suvsteve
      @suvsteve  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely 1.55 still looks a little large but far more scale than the 1.9s ideally they want to be 1.2s with wpl V4 tyres but the you need to change the Axle's for them to work.

    Interesting vehicle, but does it actually crawl? Booting it and spinning up sand doesn't tell us much.

    • @suvsteve
      @suvsteve  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I will need to get it on some obstacles it crawl,s as well as the mn82 - 78 and 128 if you have any of those as a comparison.
      I'm still trying to find a filming location which is more technical or rocky but where I live in the UK is one of the flattest part's of the country.
      But yeah the stock tyres are actually quite soft and it has decent modulation with a decent amount of torque .
      None of these are ever going to be amazing rock crawler's but definitely capable trail trucks with some ability to crawl.
      Is there anything specific you would like to see it do bearing in mind I'm limited for crawling locations 😊

      @hairypaulmm7wab195 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@suvsteve A friend of mine has the MN82 which was not bad out the box, with a few relatively easy mods and adjustments it is pretty decent on rough trails and crawls quite well for a budget priced rig. I already have FTX outback 3 mini 1/24 scale rig that is a lot of fun with a few cheap/easy mods, trimmed 1.5 turns off rear springs, removed spare wheel from back door and added a little lead free solder to front bumper to shift COG forwards and get a bit more traction weight on front tyres. It now climbs most inclines up to almost 50 deg and handles more of the local trails and some sections of local pine forest rather well. Looking at the MN168 for next project. I am lucky to live in rural Ayrshire Scotland and have some quite gnarly areas for the crawlers, my main LCG comp crawler is based on modified 1/10 scale FTX Ravine that can climb slopes of nearly 75 deg as long as it can find a good line and get some grip. I like the look of the MN168 for a smaller decent looking scale rig that will be easier to carry in a backpack or on the bike than the Ravine based beastie. I hope You can find a good crawler spot and have a fun with the Range Rover. I think it might do well with right suspension mods and forward weight bias. I made a small crawler test course in the garden with gravel, rocks and scrap timber with one section twisting between planters and pots with gravel mounds between them, as long as I don't wreck the plants my wife doesn't mind -grin- Keep doing Your videos and have fun ! Cheers.

      That's a nice part of the world although I'm in East Anglia my nan was from air
      I think the 168 will be a good place to start as its not bad at all out of the box especially for the price point the MN99s version 2 could be worth a look to .
      I didn't similar with my ftx3 mini the 1.10 ftx outback 3 had some loose grubscrews and the esc and servo died before I ran the first battery through.
      But has been flawless since.
      I'm just discovering fms at the moment and I'm very impressed with what they are doing atm I've got there new scx24m range rover and it's awesome

    I can't understand the chinese rc car makers, they can't make a cheap rc car that can turn properly like a traxxas trx4 that has very big steering angle. All the known quality brands make trail rc trucks that can TURN PROPERLY, but the chinese guys they hold the stupid tradition to make rc cars that can't turn. Why ? How difficult is to design an rc trail truck to turn properly ? 45 degrees steering angle how difficult is to do that ? I like the appearance of this model but i will never buy it because turns like a 40 dollars rc car.

    • @suvsteve
      @suvsteve  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah it definitely seems to be an issue.
      However with this one just moving the steering linkage down a hole on the servo arm made a massive difference and the steering is now on point around 45° so thankfully a simple fix on this one 😊
