If you're looking for a convenient way to get data on or off of an external 2.5" or 3.5" drive, the Thermaltake BlacX is fast and inexpensive! With USB 3.0 and support for UASP, it's hard to go wrong!
I have this hard drive docking station, and it is quite handy and reasonably quick.
I'm always like "If I just could pick something up" when i see all those hardware lying around. :D
So much character in Linus today!
Absolutely. It's also backwards compatible with USB 2.0. I don't know if he mentioned that or not.
this reminds me of the 90's
yeah looks alot older then 2012
Linus I am both shocked and surprised at your little joke at the end, you should be very proud as it made my day completely caught me off guard :D
Brilliant Ending!
Looks just like there old ones, I have one sitting on my floor. Great when you have a stack of OLD hard drives laying around and dont want to keep opening your PC to install them to check whats on em.
i dont think he is paid my each individual company. NCIX gives him the stuff to review, and he can walk through the warehouse in Vancouver and pick out things he wants to review, AND we can request stuff for him to review. That is why we get such honest review without any BS
They do you just have to download the the 3tb+ unlocker driver from there website. I have a z77 sabertooth board. I don't have a 3tb drive but the unlocker is avaliable for D/L off the driver website.
NICE LINUS! Cant wait till next vid like always!
wow...i think this is the first time I have ever herd/seen linus say he dont have some tech laying around...just wow.
Remember hard drives, always wear protection, never dock unprotected, you could pass DTD's (Digitally Transmited Diseases)
I meant the actual drive shown in the picture.
He’s good i wonder if he’ll become a big youtuber one day
Linus is my hero.
LoooooooooooooooL
Safe Data Practice!!
Great Advice Linus!!!!!!!!!!
Vantec docks are much cheaper, but this is nice for the SATA3.
Because when you use the product you put the rubber on the Hard Drive?
A better question is, if no hard drive comes with the BlacX, why is the BlacX shown with the Hard Drive?
That explains a lot
Review the Gigabyte G1 Sniper 3 please!!
You're welcome
"lets see if i can find a ssd" just randomly fishes a ssd from somewhere in his office
Are any hard drives actually sold with cutouts like that? If no, then why show them...?
Your hair grows so fast.
No, it was a 2.5" HDD
Hey Linus, When are you guys going to cover ASUS' new premium thunderbolt motherboard?
Damn thanks... It doesnt make sense that AMD would release the 7000 series with PCIE 3.0 without at least one board that supports it... Would have thought by now they would have released one. Do u have any idea if one is comming out soon or if i shud just buy a formula 5 now?

Nobody never changed the formal name of STD to STI.
STD refers mostly to the more common known ones. There are such things as STIs that aren't as severe (ie non-permanent).
Can't believe your getting in an argument over the 'political correct' nomenclature for STD or STI...
However you want to say it is fine.
The condom add at the end was a surprise.
thank you :)
what about 5.5" hard drives?
Really, you had to go there. The sad thing is somebody will say, I don't get it. Always remember, practice safe, "Hot Swapping!"
The rubber things are for protection. I thought you only used protection in Sex, but now they designed it for Hdd's and SSD's.
really? can we plug it into a laptop??? please help
no disk benchmark ?
No, AMD 900 chipset series (exp.990FX,990,970..) does not support PCIE3.0, so no 3.0 for AM3+. But you really don't need one! PCIE 2.0 is "fast" enough for today's graphics carts. Maybe something like gtx690 or amd7990* need more bandwidth, but if you want AM3+ socket you are not looking for 999.99 dollars graphic card, am I right?
NICE
They came with the product he unboxed.
you know linus has a good job when you are rocking socks
ya dude rubbers are a part of human safety whether they are in condom or in HDD enclosures.
linus updated his ears :))
So only SSD's and STD's?
i wanna go to the place, where the video was taken and just pic-up some stuff ^^
Had a external drive usb break on me will this work if I pull drive from the external and place on dock from Black x?
I didnt watch this video for the product.. I watched it cause of Linus :D
Ok. I have 2 6970's and want to buy a FX8150. I dont know anything about mobo's o do u think they can release a new chipset for 3.0 or should i waid until the next cpu release... I know u said 2.0 was fast enough buy i want a more futire proof system because i want to upgrade my 6970's to what ever the 8000 series will bring.
all motherboards support 3 and 4tb hard drives? i saw in the gigabyte website that in some motherboards from them is a feature called "3tb+ support". is that means that asus and msi doesn't?? thanks
i wish i could just grab a brand new SSD to test it out to another item as easy as you
got one more
Thats right use rubbers you can never have enough.
You don't say?...
Didnt linus have a haircut? his hairs back lol
well we use "rubbers" for everything else
best ending ever
Don't you get data corruption from premature "pulling out"? :)
Guys i need help. Can anyone tell me if there is a motherboard that spports AM3+ and PCIE 3.0 ??????????
its Black X
it's basically praw-cessor. That's how I say it anyway. Every now and then I'll say pro-cessor.
I do :)
Black X. The C, taking the place of the K, I'd imagine.
How else can you pronounce "processor"?
I lol'ed at the end.
"The other pins deeper inside there"
that office looks like my room....
i swear you had a 3.5 at the beginning of the video...
Linus is getting so funny lol
that's what she said :3
I would've thought they'd protect your PC from them.
Linus motto : Once you go ssd.you will never go back
if it is not on..... no safe data storage :P
all those damn parts just laying around....
Hey Suse!
Jesus!
If you're not American that's how you say processor.
i think it was the picture on the box, lol
use a rubber just to be safe =]
Covering everything from SSD to STD.
mmmm, i think i need one
I actually kind of like the way he says processors, though I wonder what a concessor would do... *ba dum, psh*
4:30 U mad Linus? XD
i wish i had an ssd lying around...
Prah Sess Er
Do Trojan brand hard drive condoms give your computer Trojan viruses???
lol at the end
Will the hard drive rubbers be covered under my insurance policy? Oh wait, Obama Care will take care of it...

Linus is a 3.5 inch Atheist!!!
Remember, Rubber before Rub her.
nope, 4th, not fast enough.
Real Linus fans watch this before 301 views

My comment has nothing to do with this video. :D
