Kyle, this video hit home for me in such a real way. I've been there too-after spending two months on a road trip, capturing hundreds of hours of footage, my girlfriend and I had big plans for a channel that never materialised. It's humbling to acknowledge those moments where we didn’t follow through, but your words remind me of how crucial it is to keep moving forward. Your content is not only inspiring; it’s a powerful reminder that defining our own success is an ever-evolving journey. I’m on a similar mission and your work reinforces how important that pursuit is.
I’ve made this mistake over and over, Kyle. It was only once I started following a structured process for my videos that things started working. Now, I go through ideation, packaging, scripting and shotlist planning before I even grab my camera. It’s less inspiration-driven, but it’s definitely more effective. And that’s what I want most of all - to be effective.
Dude... I literally stumbled upon this video while going through roughly 800GB of old photos and photo projects no one has ever seen as I've deemed them "not good enough". And I've just smiled for hours with tears in my eyes while watching my nieces and nephews grow, and my small puppy turn into the old man he is today. But most importantly, not only did I see how much I've grown since as a photographer, but also, how many gorgeous photos I've deemed "failures" just because I've been too harsh for myself. Just because I've been in search of that "perfection" I might never achieve. No idea why you have only 4.6k followers but you just gained a new one. Thanks for these great videos!
agreed man! It’s about the process along the journey that all helps aid the final outcome. All the mishaps, failures, bad weather calls, they’re all a part of this journey. Sick vid man
Thanks for sharing! I feel this deeply. I see/feel my "failures" so clearly every time I try to edit a video I filmed...and even after pulling through and uploading that video, only a handful will see it anyway so why did I care so much or struggle that hard to put it together🤪Still struggling with it every day. I know I'm not good at storytelling but the only way to get better is to keep practicing it right 😅 Beautiful video!!
Just found your channel and I’m hooked at once, you will definitely be a huge inspiration for my newly started filmmaking journey! I definitely relate to what you talked about in this video🙌🏻
Sounds very familiar for me!! - Thanks for sharing your struggle! - We all struggle with these thoughts, that we're not good enough from time to time, procrastinating...! - Sometimes for hours, sometimes for years.....! - but as we walk forward, even a tiny step another dynamic comes to the process...! Your footage looks great!! - don't worry, be happy and keep going!!!
Hi Kyle…I’m 70 years old and just now retiring as a farm and ranch broker in Central Oregon. for the past 20 years I have shot my own still photos and video to feature the landholdings I sell. For my video workI started with a Nikon D90 then moved to Lumix cameras. When I needed aerial shots I had to hire a helicopter and have the owner take the door off. Expensive and, since there was no gimbal, the results were often terrible. After the helicopter came GoPro cameras. I would duct tape one on each knee of a young guy who would fly his power sail glider over the property. I needed to hand out sea sickness pills to each viewer. Anyway…I now use Lumix GH5 and a new G9II. M 4/3 works fine for me and I love the glass I have. I also use a DJI Mavic 2 Pro for my aerial work. As I retire I’ve wondered what to do with all this equipment. Watching your video was just the kind of motivation I needed. I hope to film the People Who Grow/Raise Our Food. This is a hard-working, hardy and amazing group of farmers and ranchers and they all have a story to tell. Thanks and I can’t wait to view more of your work. Jim
This is a beautiful compilation video of all you have learnt and kudos to posting it. But the audio track volume could have been a little subtle as I couldn't hear you comfortably while you were talking, especially after 3:00.
I love this man. And have struggled with the exact same challenges as you. I am a photographer and videographer and I have shared less than 1% of what I have created. This was just the spark I needed. Thank you! Zak P.S. Are you still in. NZ? I am a Kiwi living in Hamburg P.S.S. The footage and colour grading look SOOOOO good 👌
I loved how real and transparent this was! Thank you for sharing how pursuing your dreams really is, I hope you find the momentum and drive you need. From a stranger to the next, you CAN do it. 🫶🏾
“the honest beauty of life outside the highlight reel…”…. Damn bro. Keep going! It ends in success for you my friend.

This is so well done. A message that more creatives need to hear and understand. 💯
I'm here to watch your channel grow to match your talent. Inspired and subscribed :)
“Failure isn’t the opposite of success - it’s part of it…”. Wow
