Nice. A notable thing you missed out on was b1. B1 was a mid which comboed into WGF on hit for a mid high, 39 damage launch (the WGF could be performed with a simple df2). B1 was also safe on block (it was -8 so only some characters could punish it on its own) and Devil Jin could optionally transition into CD for a whole slew of mixups on block. B1 WGF was uninterruptible on block for 10 frame jab characters and B1, WR3 was something you could do easily (UF3 gave you WR3) for very strong pressure if the opponent didn’t avoid the WR3. The WR3 also went over lows. And to top it all off, B1 had a lot of tracking to both sides so it could very easily tech roll catch into a powerful launch. It was pretty strong to say the least and it's the main thing 5.0 (and 5.1) DJ have over DR DJ.
I guess one downside DJ has which isn’t that is that his jab is 10 frames in a game where some characters have 8 frame jabs, which naturally limits his punish and pressure game compared to those 8 frame jab characters, especially if he is fighting an 8 frame jab character.
Interesting fact: Both Jin and DJ d+1 are CPU killer in TK4 (for Jin obviously) and TK5+TK5DR. For some reason, even for Ultra Hard CPU, they refused to block it 90% of the time and for DJ, it was an easy 80% combo because you can follow it up by flying laser since the CPU REFUSES TO TECH ROLL!!!
The CPU would nearly always crouch to try to block that move, as if it were a low. I suppose it was programmed to crouch block the d+1 input since it was a dick jab for the rest of the cast.
@@fustiancorduroy The funniest stuff was the CPU reaction to the meaty after getting knock down from it. Like Jin, it was a guaranteed scissor kick while for DJ, it was both flying laser and scissor kick.
Steve, Nina Bryan are fairly conclusively top 3. You have a bunch of characters would could go after them. Feng, Devil Jin, Ganryu and maybe characters like Heihachi and Law.
Pretty much all of them. Ironically, one of his best tools in this game didn't get mentioned in the video, but it's one of the things that didn't make it to DR, his b+1~CD

I see
Tk5 DJ was an actual playable full powered mini boss character
steve was way stronger
@@mwkan772 steve was the real secret boss of the game
"This low does more DMG then 2 bar enraged akuma D3 combo" 😂😂
xD
That was Tekken 5 not Tekken 7 they nerf the dmg in Tekken 7 🙄
My bad I see now the " Damage "
You know a character is really good when his only actual flaw is that he doesn't have a few moves that he possesses in later entries.

@@bigbangbot-SuperSqank Remind me, was his jab 8 frames in DR?
No. Mishimas always had 10 frame jabs in every game (even going back to Tekken 1).

Not just for Devil Jin. EWGF recovered faster before T6 for any character
d/f1, 2 was more consistent if you put f1+4 instead of just 1+4
I swear bound mechanic was in TKN 5 dr? I know it wasn’t in normal TKN5! HP is 145🤔 Its nice when u document older TKN games like this👍
B! didn't come around until 6
Tekken 6 was the first game with bound mechanic otherwise Lee could've ToD out of anything in the wall stages
@@ametozukumazu6073 sorry my bad I’m getting old! Turning 40 in a few weeks and have been playing TKN since the beginning of time 1994 30 years🤣🤣🤣
@@DigiCount sorry I thought it was TKN 5 dr not 6 but yeah I remember now TKN 6 also introduced the rage system!
The old 1+4,2 and d3+4 was cooler man dam
T5 DJ was just the coolest
No wonder he's locked behind an entire game mode
true
Dr. Bosconovitch T3.
@klockenberg2299 can you explain more please, really interested
@@lesage1803 pretty sure you unlock him from Tekken Force
Keep in mind they buffed this character in DR.
true lol
More damage than actual 10 hit combo
You forgot the most broken thing b1~df2 😅
sorry for that haha
Who are the top 5 most op chars in t5 steve is abviously top 1
But between the likes of Feng, DJ, Bryan, Nina i can't rank them
Pretty sure there was a thing called the White Trinity for T5 best chars - Steve, Bryan, Nina (lol)
Steve, Nina Bryan are fairly conclusively top 3. You have a bunch of characters would could go after them. Feng, Devil Jin, Ganryu and maybe characters like Heihachi and Law.
Meta was named S. N. B. F 1st letters of most dumb top tiers in 5
Nina is one of the hardest characters for me, I hate here. There is also Julia... And I don't talk about Jinpachi
Is DVJ still viable in Tekken 7?
Can the combos you do here transfer over to Dark Resurrection?
Pretty much all of them. Ironically, one of his best tools in this game didn't get mentioned in the video, but it's one of the things that didn't make it to DR, his b+1~CD
b1 into CD is still in DR. The difference however is that b1, WGF is guaranteed in T5 but it is not in DR.
0:31 how to do that much much time in play station 2??
Lmfao that low did 5 damage💀
lol
D1 would also guarantee CD3 (hold).
I see
Ill be stealing that one
Devil jin in tekken 5 was a problem
he was a problem in Tekken 5 DR
Which scam is uf4
