    Hi all! Thank you for dropping by. Just a note, occasionally I refer to the 'Full Self Driving Capability' option as Autopilot. For clarification, Autopilot comes as standard on all Tesla cars, but the Full Self Driving Capability is a $10,100 option that gives you additional functionality over your Tesla. Enjoy the review! - Cameron

    Your final description of the TESLA Model 3 LR as being a "Game Changer" is right on the money. I have only done 800km in this car and those words reflect my thoughts exactly.
    Over the decades we've had Game Changers starting with the internet, then iPhone/smart phones, even stick vacuum cleaners! but this one is huge. Adrian, Perth.

    Did I miss it? The bit on handling? B4 I drive one I favour what I have - Porsche Macan Turbo petrol.Same price, rough road ride? handling? How long do I have to wait around to get it charged? If those things are fine, then I’m in. Cannot assess that until I drive it.

    • @ProductReviewCars
      @ProductReviewCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Macan Turbo will be more fun to drive overall. However, having experienced the Model 3, it’s low centre of gravity does well through corners as well as getting out of them. It’s going to have less steering feel, engagement and certainly weighs a lot more than the Macan. - Cameron

    • @boozaboi1
      @boozaboi1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on how you charge. Through a Tesla gen 2 supercharger, you can go from 20 to 80% charge in around 15 minutes. The Gen 3 hyperchargers rolling out will do it in 5. My car will get a reliable 380km, but up to 440 depending on conditions. Unless Im travelling long distances, Im charging when at work, when Im asleep or at a venue that has free charging.
      As for the driving experience in the handling dept, it will beat an M3 on a track, which is an acknowledged sweet handler (I know, I had one) but not due to any great handling balance or steering feel. (On the subject of the latter, it could do with some work) Rather it beats an M3 due to its sheer power and ability to power out of bends, with its very rapid ability to transfer drive torque as needed. Its seat, while very comfortable, lacks lateral support, and I feel like I sit on the seat rather than in it. Lowering the handling comparison a notch or two to the Macan (excellent though it is for an SUV) a Model 3 Performance would out handle it around a track (though with far less steering and seat of the pants communication) and of course smoke it in a straight line. Suspension comfort isnt too bad. Best way to see whether it suits is take one for a test drive. Theyll let you take it by yourself so you can really test it out). I made myself carsick when I took one for a test drive with its mental acceleration, and Ive owned some pretty good AMG and M Division cars in my time.

    • @ProductReviewCars
      @ProductReviewCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So true! I did a slight range test, and found it to be a lot similar to 400km than 625km. Still, it's a lot of range, but range calculations are a lot like estimated fuel economy, usually hard to get the same.

  • @QuitWithNick
    @QuitWithNick 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good review. But you left out something crucially important! INSURANCE! Haven’t seen a single review yet that’s mentioned it and is extremely important when considering it’s purchase, for me a deal breaker! Anywhere from $2,500 to a comical $9,000 a year, if you’re lucky enough to even find someone who’ll insure it at all! You can be forgiven for getting lost in the nuts n bolts of the car, but this is important ESPECIALLY if ‘reduced costs’ is one of the main reasons for buying this car. What you gain in fuel and servicing is GONE in this cost! There are VERY few specialist EV repairers around, parts are hard to get and take forever to arrive and the car may need to be toed a LONG way to a repairer for that reason: hence the exorbitant insurance. Sorry, deal breaker for me, Mercedes AMG it is for me.

      The reason this car is over $100K in Australia, is because Australians are STILL forced to pay the "luxury car tax" to the Government mafia. BTW, that "luxury car tax" was brought in to protect Australia's own car making industry, which does not exist anymore, in any way, so they are stealing money illegally and no one does, or says a thing. Who are the criminals today, we ask? Sad times!!

    That “vegan leather” inside the model 3 is made of petroleum products… known as plastic.
    Batteries? Made of many precious minerals mined by… petroleum powered vehicles as well.
    It should have an HUD display or at least a speedometer right in front of the driver imho.
    “Eyes off the road” is a safety issue, I’m surprised that Tesla didn’t engineer into their Model 3.
    I’m “in on buying one” providing Tesla stops including “fart jokes” and refines the car safer to drive.
    After driving one as a rental. The lack of a speedometer in front of the driver was ridiculous. Taking my eyes off the road to look at a “tablet display” to manage speed made my driving experience “not so great.”
    I like the Model 3. It was a nice experience for us to try it.
    But we aren’t buyers until this vehicle has what every Tesla BUT the model 3 has. A speedometer in front.
    Nice video work. You’re a young guy… you did a great job on this video. Keep up the good work.

      @@125sloth actually youre incorrect. Using the FG Falcon as a guide, it has 535 litres capacity. The Tesla Model 3 (a medium size class vehicle mind you) has a total of 542 litres when the boot, underfloor boot storage well and frunk are combined. As an owner of a Model 3, and frequent user of Falcons in my line of work before they were consigned to history, Im well familiar with the relative luggage carrying capacities of each. A better class size comparison to the Falcon would be the Tesla Model S also. It smacks the Ford with 894 litres capacity. As for rear seat passenger habitability, I have no idea what you base that on. it just cant be experience. The back seat of a Tesla Model 3 is a far better place to be in (and get out of) than a Falcon, particularly if youre a centre seating position passenger- no transmission tunnel. And lastly the Model 3 has a 5 star and WAAAAY better ANCAP safety rating in every scoring category than the last Falcon made, or Kia Cerato for that matter. In fact, Tesla's Model X and 3 came 2nd and 3rd respectively (behind the Mercedes CLA, which i used to own) in the cars with the best ANCAP safety scores.
