    Lance is a great guy. He and Hitz on the Brass Junkies are fantastic. It is really nice to see this relationship between student and mentor.

    What a great surprise when I watched this. Lance gave me lessons when I was in high school and was my section leader in college marching band. Unexpected to see you two together in this video. Thanks for sharing.

    You've inspired me to continue getting better at the euphonium. Sometimes it's easy to give up but in order to succeed hard work is the key.

    It's awesome to see you with Lance, I know that he has inspired me a lot too. I met him about to years ago when he came to my school. He came in to our school after we won a band competition.

    In 1974, I was told "You want to major in what? Euphonium? No real musicians play Euphonium, that's just a fill-in horn in a band for the less talented player". You must choose Tuba or Trombone!
    How wrong were these closed minded "music snobs" who fled Philharmonic Orchestra was the only "real" music.
    I did not follow their lead and my grades suffered. I had to pursue the Art of the Euphonium on my own.
    I am so glad that you have found a great teacher, mentor, and Professional to train and challenge you. He will make you even better.

    after I get good enough at trombone I want to take up baritone and after baritone I want to take up euphonium (which will take a couple years and by then I'll probably have a better lung capacity to play euph)

    My Besson Sovereign, along with many other euphoniums, have a "bar" underneath the valve caps. What is this "bar's" proper name and what does it do?

    • @Matonizz
      @Matonizz  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I'm understanding correctly you are talking about Water Catcher and the main function of it is to catch water so it would not stain your clothes. I think that's what you're talking about? Am I correct?

    • @libertariancapitalist
      @libertariancapitalist 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is. Thank you. I've been wondering for a while about what it does and what it's called. Thank you so much and keep up the good work

    How hard is it to make a living with euphonium? I've always really wanted to make a living with mine but I have my doubts :/

    • @Matonizz
      @Matonizz  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is definitely not easy. You'll have to put more work than most people probably think and I'm not talking about practice work. There is so much more you have to be good at to make living out of playing. However, if you have enough determination to stick with it for long enough to make it come true, it is well worth it my friend!
