So hard to pick a favourite episode from this amazing series but this is definitely the one I was the most looking forward to seeing you react too. It's just on fire all the way through with the lines and the way Linda is walking then sits on the rubber ring is superb. I agree on Jez and Suze. Some episodes they are needed and play the part but there are episodes like this one they are not needed. Just off to laminate some photos so they're wipe clean :)

Tom acting hard really took the biscuit, he was the episode MVP for me! lol Great reaction as usual!
What 'meanness' to the cat? The cartwheels she does is clearly a Cuddley toy being spun around, DeMousses' machine gun death is entirely off screen so is inadmissible... I can only conclude you are referring to the 4 second shot of DeMousse with a light plastic Ketchup bottle tied to her collar which causes her pace to be fractionally slower than it would be without..... Correct me if I'm wrong of course. I🙂

The bit where Linda talks about Sound Of Music - I always thought the joke was that she was just being stupid by getting Julie Andrews confused with Petula Clark, and so she thought the nun sang "Downtown" instead of "My Favourite Things". But it turns out that Petula Clark actually did successfully play Maria in the stage musical for quite a few years in the 70s and 80s so it's actually kind of a weirdly specific deep cut?! GGG did that often, usually with fairly niche UK culture from the past to the then-present. I didn't understand most of them when I was a kid and I still pick up on more stuff with each re-watch 😀
Su Pollard who is mentioned appears in a later episode. Linda's look was inspired by the look Su Pollard took in her music video "we're starting together"

Season 3 when it aired on BBC1 from BBC2 was widely regarded as inferior because of the channel it switched to, because BBC1 is considered more a mainstream and respectable channel compared to its BBC2 counterpart. It comes across as a completely different show in series 3

This was just brilliant! When you said 'get your drink' you reminded me that I had put 3 bottles of lager in my freezer over an hour before, I nearly had lager ice lollies 😆 so I had a nice freezing cold lager while watching. So many good moments in this, I didn't really miss Jez and Sue either, they're mainly good for Tom and Linda to bounce off. Linda made me laugh so much when she couldn't walk and her hair was all sticking up - then she sat on that rubber ring 🤣 You made me laugh at the end too, comparing the prisoners running out of the room to gazelles being chased by a lion 🤣🤣 Linda definitely does stalk her prey lol. I'm absolutely loving watching these on a Saturday with you, I was worried it wouldn't be as good as I remembered it to be, but it is, I'm belly laughing every week. We love that you love our comedy shows, a lot of Americans don't get Brit humour. Have you seen the series Monkey Dust? It's the darkest, silliest, absolutely spot on depiction of modern Britain. It's as hilarious as it is sick! Especially the Paedofinder General, The First time cottagers, The Fran Chapple storyline, and the The NHS sketch will make you sick.
Just settling down to watch this now, with a beef and tomato Pot Noodle with added habanero sauce, and some Intense Arctic Iced Coffee to go along with it!
It’s great to watch it all again with you. I do remember there is an episode in this series set in a theatre which I thought was one of the weakest. Will be interesting if I still thinks it’s a poor one and if you do.
For me the weakest episode was the recent special on here which felt over the top, very mean spirited and didn't follow continuity. Otherwise I adore the series.

That episode is in series 3. There are a couple in that series I think the quality dips but especially that one is my least favourite.
