No worries on my end for passing on the blade spine jimping, I appreciate you wanting to try that on your own knife first. That Rosie XL is awesome! These days I like a heavier knife as well, my brain tells me it’s worth more if it’s heavier which isn’t always true, but it’s how I feel lol. 🤘🏻

I love the idea of the double detent mod. My Medford Fighter Flipper has a lackluster opening feel for sure. From both the flipper and fuller. Although I do really like the knife. If you decide you want to get rid of the Rosie at any point, let me know!

That dirty finish look is neat but I don’t know if it’d be my thing. I might be constantly trying to wipe my blade off, lol. It will always amaze me when a knife works perfectly with multiple deployment options, specially when those different options tend to favor different detent strengths. Flippers generally tend to favor a heavier detent due to how you’re able to leverage the force to open it while a reverse flick tends towards a slightly lighter detent because of how your fingers are applying all the leverage. A lot of it is really based on how the deployment methods are laid out; the design is important! I love my Roosevelt but haven’t had the opportunity to try the XL yet. I’ll get one eventually, just have to be patient and persistent. As far as weight, I’ve got a really good belt so it’s not a huge concern for me. Paul is ahead of me with experimenting with the Stainless blackeners and just gave me a recipe to try. The XL really made me question why I liked it so much Still kinda has my head spinning 😵💫. I had the regular size Rosie and loved it but I ended up trading it for an FSD. I'm glad I made the trade but I do miss the Rosie. Such a good knife. Anyway great video 👍🔥🔥🔥🤘

@ It feels weird to have a knife that size but be so thin and lightweight. Add on that I had the silver surfer (shiny/fancy) and it wasn’t a fit. The regular size doesn’t feel right in my hands either and I don’t have SatuPaws 😂💪
A couple ounces doesn't make a difference to me, I like larger knives, so I'm comfortable carrying my ad10 and 4max scout regularly. Love that Rosie XL, sweet.

Hi Dave, I have a slim midi with a horrible detent. I bought it a few months ago and I won't carry it as I don't think it's safe. The blade opens basically on its own weight. I know its not a bruiser but if you would like to look at it let me know. I'd rather send it to you than back to Medford. I wonder if a double detent would work on it?? As far as the price goes I know he’s making money and more power to him. Then there’s always the debate of how muck should he make? Beats me. I think your right if it was Chinese would we even look at it. I wouldn’t but I think that’s a double edge sword people are on both sides. I know a lot are getting burned out because people have found a way to make money off pushing the overseas stuff and it’s starting to be a bit much when everything is a commercial

The Rosie xl is the same thickness as the original which is weird. The thinness suits the smaller version but it seems too flat for the xl.
