Pretty cool they have an operating station there on set, instead of just some non-functional set pieces, and that they actually allow it to be used in the off-shooting time. Congrats on that achievement!

That is really cool. I really liked Last Man Standing. It was kind of like Home Improvement for a new decade, with daughters instead of sons.

Very Cool....Tim Allen used to park his boat right next to my Boat/Docks in Gibraltar, Michigan. At that time Tim kept his boat at my neighbor's house, which was Tim's Boat Broker. My neighbor, Ted, and his wife, Crewed Tim's boat for him. Yes....just like on the show Home Improvement, I have looked over the fence in my back yard, saw Tim Allen...and said "Howdy Neighbor"! Tim just Groaned. I went back inside my house. I haven't watched Last Man Standing yet...Maybe I'll catch it in reruns like I did Seinfeld. W8RFC

It is so cool that they not only built a legitimate amateur radio station, but also let guests come in and operate. I worked KA6LMS today around 13:05 Eastern Time. I was operating aboard the SS American Victory Museum Ship in Tampa, FL with the club's callsign, W4AVM. I made a QSO with KA6LMS on 20 meters.

Hi Josh, was nice to work you! Thank you for activating. With the noise levels the way they are around here. Digital mode was about the only way I would get a QSO with KA6LMS. Thank you for activating in FT-8 . Managed to get you on 40M very quickly after I threw my call sign into the fray. Thanks again enjoy your channel 73! KN4PPD

I am going to re-watch Last Man Standing now. I wish I was an Amateur Radio Operator prior to 2021 so I could have enjoyed the show as much as I do now! Side note, I grew up with Home Improvement, and frequently emit Tim Taylor noises. It's too bad you weren't able to secure that antenna, but still pretty cool you worked the LMS station!

RFI at a studio 😳 basically you need to get 7/8” hard line. With ferrite beads coating the outside of the line from the point of entry to studio roof all the way lined with beads to the back of the tuner. I doubt you could do voice with that noise floor. Very cool 😉

I have to be honest, after watching the entire last man standing series, i felt somewhat ripped off. Besides seeing the radio in the background in a few episodes, there is only 1 single episode in all 194 where it is actually used and/or even mentioned! After watching this video I made some false assumptions😂. But I still enjoyed the show and am glad you led me on to it😀

Im from the East Coast..... I would have taken my exam, but after finding out what had happened to a few people I know.
some acquaintances and a few friends of friends and how they got assaulted in their own homes, because ppl can just find your home address
online right from the FCC's website, I decided not to take any test. as I value my privacy and safety/security. (too many crazy people out there)
And I also decided not to pay $140 each year for a PO Box from parcel service just to keep a FCC license. it is not feasible to me. And in an emergency, by law I really dont need a license
so I opted out of continuing to get a official FCC license. sadly, I studied for it for 7 months straight and was considering passing all 3 levels..
but I moved on to new things, until FCC seriously deal with this privacy issue.

That episode was aired years ago and you said you was there a few days ago. Is there another episode coming up on LMS, is it a different show, or are you just a lucky winner of a contest that got to go?

you can save all your settings for the 7300 on a SD card. if you reset the transceiver or move to another 7300 you wont gave to go through and set it all up again. just pop it in and load it.

I'd like to have the opportunity to operate from there and I've inquired about it but, sadly, it appears you have to be a "celebrity" amateur radio operator so I apparently need to come up with my own You Tube amateur radio related You Tube channel. I just need to come up with something that hasn't already been done by several others.
