Love this! My first treasury was Batman's Strangest Cases. How I convinced my mom to spend two--two!--dollars on this big 'scary' book of Bats I'll never know! There are some deliciously Gothic stories reprinted in that one, as you know. But thanks Ma 😀
Yes they were a lot of money back then! You could get 4 or 5 regular comics for a buck in those days. And the thing is, shops and stores didn't know how to store them either. At my local convenience store where I bought my comics, they just stuffed and jammed them in the same spinner rack as the rest of the comics. Which means that high grade copies of those tabloids are very rare. Also, if you ever manage to collect enough to fill a small box of them, I've heard that the boxes made for collectors of old Life and Saturday Evening Post magazines will fit the tall tabloid comics.
Their easiy some of the prettiest of the era, sometimes art just looks more detailed when blown out. Didn't know clear boards existed period! Thanks for sharing Silver :) Wishing you and your family a safe and cheerful Holidays! 🎄🕎 🔴🟢⚫ (Best I can do for Kwanzaa)
