I love CLE! With the math, you really don’t need the teacher book except for easy grading in my opinion. I would say the teacher book is a must for the Language Arts in the early years. We do all of the board prep with a personal desk white board, the review questions, and all of the flash cards. It is so thorough! I highly recommend doing everything it asks you to do though. It can seem daunting at first, but it bears so much fruit! When we cut things out last year, my son started really struggling. He has been doing awesome this year as long as I’m sticking with the program as it is written.
We LOVE CLE math. I used it until HS with my older one and my younger is finishing his second year now. It is so solid. We do every part except the flashcards.
We used CLE 2 Math, LA and Reading. We also used Sonlight history and their literature when my daughter wanted to read more. The math flash cards helped my daughter memorize so many facts. I also used their K1 and K2. We are almost finished and I have already received grade 1 Learning to Read, Reading, LA and Math. My 4th graders are using their LA and Math.
Thank you so much for such a well laid out video! I have spent HOURS and HOURS watching so many curriculum review videos. Most of the time I see presenters giving nothing but Ted Talks about their curriculum of choice. You showed so much of each item AND made sure the viewer could see it (clearly!!) up close! Thank you for that!! Looking forward to seeing how your school year looks, as I am also considering CLE for my rising 2nd grader. Definitely giving you a follow 👏🏻
We used CLE grade 1 for Language Arts. We will use it next year for Grade 2. We are not using the Readers for grade 2, because my son may find them boring. I didn't even look at Sonlight's readers. Thanks for the idea.
That's a great combo of CLE math, CLE LA, and Sonlight readers. I'm considering doing the same for my 2nd grader next year (I would use the Bookshark option). What are you using for History and Science?

Thank you! I will definitely be using the LA teachers guide. I’m excited to get started with it.

We LOVE CLE Math and Language arts. Using grades 1&4 currently. Also the Learning to Read program!
Also, I do like the teacher guides because it does have the story problems and the listen and copy, at least for Grade 1
That’s good to know about grade 1!

Thank you for sharing 🙏
By the way, you look great for just giving birth ☺️❤️
Thank you ❤️
What was the determining factor to choose CLE LA over Sonlight LA?
