  • We are going back to the Indianapolis police impound lot looking for good deals on classic and sport cars. Will we snag a deal or is tax time money going to drive up the bids?
This is the joy ride auction site we will be bidding at. Check them out at

I rebuilt a car and in Ohio with a salvage title, you have to have it inspected when finished and you have to have receipts for all the parts. If used parts, I believe you need the vin of the car they came off of, or a receipt if from a business (like a salvage yard) I had to use all new parts as I couldn't find the used parts I needed. Then after the inspection you take the paperwork to title department and get a rebuilt title issued.

I bought a 1988 Ford van in 1990 with a salvage title. After fixing it I took it to the Highway Patrol here in Missouri and after an inspection I was given a good title labeled salvage so I could put it back on the road. I drove it for about 10 years before selling it.
In 2014 I bought a Georgetown Motorhome in Memphis at a auto salvage auction that was vandalized with a salvage title. A trip to the Highway Patrol for inspection and I was given a good title labeled salvage so it can be operated on the road. I also never had any problem getting insurance for salvage titled cars.
Not all Highway Patrol offices here in Missouri do auto inspections. Other states might be different.

Yes, you can title a salvage car. You have to get it repaired first, then take it to the highway patrol; Once they approve it as back to road ready condition , they’ll give you a title. Or at least that’s how it goes here in Ohio.

I have had a few salvage titled vehicles, you make repairs and have an inspection done to say it is road worthy and then go to the BMV with inspection and it becomes a rebuilt title. Salvage can not be registered and plated, until it is listed as a rebuilt title.

It's like Nike shoes. The per unit cost is around $5.00 including shipping. The average car owner keeps a vehicle less than 5 years. In that time, brakes may be changed twice if at all by most DIY consumers. I worked for them 5 years trust me, they make money and will continue to do so! A single share of AZ stock today is $ 2734.00. Wish I had bought some years ago. Enjoy the warranty, they are not hurting!

In Ohio you can get a title for a salvage titled vehicle but it will need state inspection because of it. It then gets retitled as rebuild title, if I remember correctly.

  • @boydminer
    @boydminer 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes, you can get a re-issued Title on a salvage title vehicle,at least in Utah, where I live. Once you repair the vehicle, if it passes a state vehicle safety inspection, the state will re-issue a salvage title registration, which makes it legal to drive on the road again. The problem is that the title will always show that the car had been totaled and issued a salvage title, which will reduce its resale value by about 50%. even after repairing it.
I have owned two salvage title vehicles.
One of them was my Grand Caravan, which was totaled in an accident.
The insurance company paid me $3800 for it, and I repaired it with used parts for about $800, I now drive it but only with liability insurance.

Testing is done every other year, if your vehicle is titled as a say 2002, you test on an even year, if it's a 2003 you test on an odd number year. They have a mirror mounted on a stick with wheels to roll under the car to look for a cat converter.

The 442 was a good but IMO. Probably worth more in parts than as a complete car. The 442 model was equipped with the 8.5" rear axle that was only used in them and the Buick Grand National. A common misconception is they were also used in the Monte Carlo SS models. They were all equipped the smaller 7.5" axles. Buckets, console, steering wheel, axle, gauges, rims, 200R4 trans. All pretty valuable parts

@43:20, Here in Commie California, U can get "restore" a title for a salvage title, but it will never return to a full legit title. So, these have a sub-market for all these, but there R consumers who buy this stuff, who realize that sometimes unfair things happen, which R fixable, but will never have the full clean title. Once met an Uber driver making good $$ off a PRIUS-V , the bigger one, so he got to claim larger ride-shares, becuz of the size and the car was only a few years old, but under-priced due to "salvage title".

Stolen will not be marked as abandoned.
They run the Vin numbers before they are marked for a 72 hour abandon impound. If they run the Vin number and it stolen, they are impounded immediately. Stolen vehicle you have a much higher chance of it still being a good vehicle. Abandoned means they left it somewhere and did not care to go back after it. Most likely because there is a problem with the car.

Any vehicle with the window down. I wouldn't even bother looking at. It's just going to collect dust inside. Smh They should all have their windows up.

That’s the reason I would buy one. A lot of people just buy cars if they’re nice and clean looking. They pass on vehicles that are dirty, I can come in and buy them cheaper. It’s been a little time cleaning them and flip for a big profit.
