    I have a QUESTION, PLEASE...
Pretty great video with excellent narration & clear close visuals.... thanks so much! I have the same major question as someone had asked below, but it has not yet been answered... SHOULD THE SPRING LOOP STAY AT THE BOTTOM when the tension unit re-assembly is fully completed? I had been under the impression the spring loop would ultimately end up at the 9:00 position, but you have finished with it still at 6:00, so I was uncertain if there might be an additional step that may have been as yet unmentioned, or if the 6:00 position is indeed, the absolute final position. I would very much appreciate your re-confirmation of its final un-threaded starting position... thank you!
I inherited this same model Singer 403A machine from my brother-in-law's Mother, after his beloved Mama passed. My BIL kindly first had the machine serviced by "his sewing machine guy", before giving it to me. Unfortunately, "his guy" must not have finished servicing the machine by threading it up & running a sample, b/c the tension assembly has been reassembled incorrectly. I was a bit shocked by this, as it seems to me that running a sewing sample would be an absolute given as a final step for anyone who has experience doing this kind of work. Anyway, I was so grateful to find this video on TH-cam & would really appreciate getting confirmation regarding the final static spring position. Thanks again & God bless!😇

Thank you! To the right and to let out. The adjuster manual isn't every clear and confusing at times. Huge help. I was also screwing the set screw too tight.

Once you obtain a copy of the manual, that should help quite a bit in checking to see you have them set up properly. All sewing machines have their specific rules for setup.
