Numerous Southern California tracks are in the desert and can be very dusty. Pretty much everyone wears goggles on windy days at desert tracks, because you can get blinded by dust clouds without them.
Great point! Goggles can serve many purposes so it is always interesting to hear the different reasons and scenarios where people choose to use them!
