My closest and best friend just died last week of a massive heart attack. Sadly, in his mind, he thought he was all good both physically and spiritually. Tragically, in his blinded and misguided arrogance, he would often mock God and Christians. I have been wondering since he died if he, by chance, was able to repent in his last breath. But then the Holy Spirit remind me of the story about the thief on the cross. I can only take that as a hopeful sign of comfort that he did repent before he died. It would be so awesome to see him again in Heaven. My heart is broken into a thousand pieces, but I know that this too shall pass.😢Cry😭💔😭💔🙏🏾

Just lost a cousin today, only 54, very suddenly; he was hospitalized on Wednesday or Thursday last week and departed Sunday afternoon. I last spoke with him a month ago and asked if he had been reading his Bible. He said no. I urged him to do so. I prayed for him periodically. Fasted the moment I learned he was in ICU. Both parents were Christians but he appeared to have become apathetic. Suffered mental illness (which I believe is demonic influence) since childhood. I draw some comfort in knowing he wasn't fornicating, he wasn't living a sexually immoral lifestyle nor was he particularly covetous or envious. I know he had been saved at one time. Still...This message brings me some comfort. I will place my hope in Jesus and God the Father trusting they will do right.
If some you love has died God's Word tells you EXACTLY what happens when you die. As for tormenting a person God wouldn't ever do that (James 1:13) because He doesn't do that when we are alive.
I live in very Catholic Louisiana. Most have intermarried with Catholics, the gospel is weak and nobody confronts the gospel of works and faith in infant baptism and the Catholic Church. Very hard to go to funerals. No fruit but went Easter and Christmas and that’s it.
@@emesass5959 A couple of good churches but small. For the majority, churches here do not teach that Catholicism is a false religion of works righteousness. Pastors don't talk about it so therefore, many in the pews have no idea that Catholicism is not a Christian religion.
The problem with Christians and people of different beliefs is they think what they believe is the absolute truth, and tend to be exclusive about it. Christianity, like any other religion, is a framework of beliefs upon which people have faith. You are correct in that you cannot determine the reality of a person’s soul in relation to whatever they believe. I trust in the natural order of things, and death is simply a part of the natural order. It is cozy to believe in an afterlife and a heaven, which is something I think most people want to have faith in, but of course we can’t know for sure what happens after death. It is a human quality to fear death and need to believe and or have faith in something bigger or beyond the scope of what is knowable, and there is nothing wrong with that. So when a person dies, even if it is our own child, as mine did, it is a difficult thing for anyone of any belief and faith to accept and reconcile. It just is what it is, and everyone grieves in their own way, no matter what they believe. All who experience this type of loss will be tested, even the “faithful” as they say. Just as you can’t determine the state of a person’s soul, you also can’t judge another person’s faith, because it is subjective and personal. You can’t judge a person’s level of repentance for the same reason. There is no cozy bedtime story in the bible that can make me feel any better about my loss, it is simply learning to live without that person. I do appreciate your offering a way of finding peace, as well as your perspectives, insights, and assistance to those of us who are grieving, I wholeheartedly do. Thank-you!
"Shall not the judge of all the earth do what is just?" Yeah, so He's gonna throw people into eternal conscious torment for a finite amount of crimes. Nope, that is the opposite of just. Sorry. Not saying that sin doesn't deserve punishment, it absolutely does. But we would never consider infinite punishment on finite creatures for finite crimes as a just punishment.
I used to be agnostic only 6 months ago but I now have found god and jesus christ and know how real heaven and hell are. All you have to do is look at how actively satan is bombarding us all from all angles to see how obvious divinity and the grace of the father, the son, and the holy spirit all are.
What can you say to someone who had a strongly atheist friend who cared about you more than anyone else, but suffered from sever depression for many years and ultimately killed them self? From these beliefs doesn't that mean that if nothing else they ended their life with at least one unforgiven sin and in a bad state of mind? What can be said then..
Hi! I lost my sister to suicide last month, she was a professing unbeliever or agnostic so I think we're in similar places... it brings me peace to know that the Lord could've done a saving work in her heart in her last moments and she could have repented. If God predestined her to salvation then I know that even thought suicide is a sin, Christ atoned for all the sins she could ever commit on the cross. Then she would stand before God as all believers would> as holy and blameless because the blood of Christ has cleansed us from sin! "As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault." -Colossians 1:22. I would say the same about your friend! Are you a believer yourself? If so, I want you to find comfort in this...even though the pain is horrible and this whole situation is confusing, trust that the Lord is GOOD. We can find rest in who He is, He is sovereign over everything and we know that He can do no wrong. HE is abundant in mercy, love and grace! My prayers are with you
@@aliveinchrist3714 So... You believe that God intervened and gave her one last chance right at the end...? Which you think she took so repenting whole under duress is okay? Great. I'm off to smoke, drink fornicate and generally be a bad egg... safe inthe knowledge that I will get to repent in my last moment... Thanks for clearing that up
@@randombobsmith8925 Ummmm I don't think you understand sir.... the Bible makes it clear that true repentance comes from a changed & new heart. Who changes the heart first that then enables us to TRULY repent of sin ? GOD (Ezekiel 36:26) Romans 3 says that naturally, all of us are depraved sinners who do not seek after God...He does the change of heart first, only He can give us hearts that desire Him. Anyone can "repent" in the sense of asking for forgiveness for the sake of going to Heaven, but only the Lord knows the heart. He knows if it is genuine and if it is the result of a changed heart that longs to follow & please Him. I was speaking in the sense of God doing a saving work in their hearts moments before their death...if they had dead unbelieving hearts, I hope they died with changed, new hearts that desire to please Him & dwell with Him forever. True Repentance
@@aliveinchrist3714 Honestly you are an embarrassment the 21st century... Its another evidence free cop out by the believer. You do not know if this person's sister repented? Or if she meant it in the final moments - moments of utter terror.... so essentially under duress, this making it anything other than a 'true' repentence. Or are you too afraid to say the alternative - that she will suffer the pains of hell for Al eternity - just because she didn't bow down and grovel to the narcissistic being who created mankind broken, yet demands praise from the very people broke... Don't quote a man made text... provide evidence of repentance providing any form of benefit in this, the world we live in and most probably is the only world your mind will ever exist in.
@@randombobsmith8925 Sir. Besides the fact that you are being rude to me, as well as being untruthful, because I am quoting SCRIPTURE. I am not “too afraid” to say that unbelievers will go to hell. That’s biblical. I said that I hoped that the Lord changed their heart& granted them repentance in their last moments. Which means it also may not have happened. When comforting someone who has lost a loved one who was not of the faith, the first thing to do is not point out that they may be in hell... biblically, we mourn with those who mourn. She asked what I would say. I said I hoped that they had really repented (which comes from God) which means I hoped it was a true, saving, repentance. Please do not come at me saying you cannot repent in your last moments...please provide scripture to back it up. God can save anyone. He alone does the saving. If anyone truly repents, that means it comes from a change of heart, which only God alone can do. I am not speaking of fake repentance out of duress, but true, life changing repentance. Also, please try to understand pointing out that someone may be in hell is not the first thing you should do when talking to someone who has lost a loved one. That is not biblical either. Mourn with those who mourn. Speak the truth in love. There is a time for both.
You think God will do right by your standards of right? God is right if He were to decide to let us all go to hell. Do you realize what you just said? You’re saying that if God shuts out someone we love out of heaven that He would be wrong for doing that? You need to study your Bible and read it again. Not one person is worthy of heaven. We are saved by Grace alone. If God were to give us what we all truly deserve we all would be heading to hell. Gods Grace is a gift of saving us from what we really deserve. Bible speaks of people in hell. So does that mean someone’s loved one wasn’t treated fairly by God if they’re in hell? I hope you don’t answer that with a yes. I just lost my mother and I believe that God hears my prayers for saving my family. I do have comfort in that. But I know God is and always has been righteous in all He does. Verse 18, "He has mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will He hardens." The argument comes, "Well it doesn't seem fair," and in verse 21 Paul says, "Hath not the potter power over the clay; of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor and another unto dishonor?" The potter can make a vessel any way he wants. He's the potter and the vessel is simply clay.
Hey man, I'd love to have a conversation with you. Jesus has a plan for your life, and wants to be able to call you His son, I love you and I'm here for you. I hope you are able to make the right decision
I enjoy a lot of The Gospel Coalition's content, but there's only so much gymnastics that one can do regarding Eternal Conscious Torment. At the end of the day, it's an abhorrent concept that could only be created by the devil.
Sure you can think he does right but in fact you really never know where souls go. Those who go to heaven are extremely lucky. Even really good innocent people get their souls put in the most horrible aweful unexsplainable places and get stuck. Even this woman she could even have her soul go somewhere aweful. Even if she gave herself to the lord. U never know.
Fundamental christianity causes so much pain in the belief that god burns even 1 person forever let alone billions of people. If your willing to be a free thinker and question everything you were taught to believe, then I recommend you watch Aaron Abke's series moving backwards here. th-cam.com/play/PLKVRMm6i0kggoIwctBh4qeRKVOnhK38uz.html
There is hope for ALL people (see below). But churches need to stop teaching grief classes. If they believe there is an eternal hell of suffering unless you believe or do certain things, there is no hope for someone who didn't. Period. 1 John 4:14 says “And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.” This verse gives us a title for Jesus and His mission: Savior of the world. Will He or won’t He fulfill His title and mission? How could you or I bet against Him succeeding? He is and will be the Savior of the world - everyone…all people…yes, really, all people. Now that’s good news…no, that’s great news! 😂
God can careless about your earthly religion 🤦 only people who care about your earthly religion is other religious beings. Religion dies when you die 🙄. Religion is man made God and satan can careless

And so i will forever be on gods bad side, im sure. Thats all i got.
Wow! I’m very sorry about the pain of losing your dad. Heaven and hell are hard concepts to understand especially on a public chat format. God loves you and I don’t know about your dad or his path, but I do know is that God loves you. Your path is before you and all we can do every day is walk by faith. The tough question for all of us is do we put our faith in ourselves - for me the answer is no I am sinful and make mistakes all the time. Therefore, I chose to trust in the God of creation, the God who sent his son Jesus Christ to die on my behalf. It is by grace that you and I are saved, that grace is Jesus Christ a sinless man who died on your behalf and mine. I’m sorry for your loss and I pray you will find healing in the loving embrace of The Savior Jesus Christ.
There is NO HELL. Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 assures us of that. A loving God would never torment people in a "Hell". I am sorry for your loss and am glad you don't accept that your dad is in "Hell". Instead he is asleep awaiting a resurrection on the earth (John 5:28, 29). You can read these verses in any Bible and the explanation will be the same. God knows you are suffering and He cares (Psalms 34:18) for you.
No they don't. Rev. 21:4 speaks of removing death, pain and outcries forever for mankind. Psalms 37:10, 11 speaks of the future for mankind living on the earth, amazing promise to look forward to.

Women that are Godly.. can help train us & share wisdom. Those that live for Him, by Him, & for Him first & foremost with all their heart, soul, minds & strength. ❤️🙏🏼
Remember God created that person and loves them more than you ever could and he doesn't give up on people and will do everything possible to reach them in ways we don't understand but he also respects our ultimate choices. Although I don't have the slightest clue as to what happens at the threshold of death I do know he is faultless in his mercy.
Tell them the truth so that others may fear
Amazing!!!
She nailed it!
Thank you for this.
John 14:27-peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
John 14:21-He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me, and he that loves me Shall be loved of my father, and I will love him and will manifest myself to him.
John 14:23-… if a man love me, he will keep my words, and my father will love him, and we will come unto him and make our abode with him.
John 14:18-I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
These are the words Of Jesus Christ, which I just read and have brought me and filled me with peace and stopped my tears. Jesus is alive and with us always. Be Comfoted
Jess is God's son. What is God's name? Surely if His son has a name our heavenly father does as well.
Mental illness is not demonic influence. It's just a product of our mortal human nature. Which isn't always good nature.
yeah that didnt make me feel better because what if what God right is punishing that person by sending them to hell?
God doesn’t send people to hell, your life determines your final destination. we must make the right steps.
Same thoughts. I'm also struggling with this.
Are you saying you don't see God's word being taught at Church?
@@emesass5959 A couple of good churches but small. For the majority, churches here do not teach that Catholicism is a false religion of works righteousness. Pastors don't talk about it so therefore, many in the pews have no idea that Catholicism is not a Christian religion.
Thank you !
Thank you 🕊
Please, do I need to pray for my catholics friends and family? Are they saved?
We should pray for others always but each person renders accountability to God, that you can't do for others.
Thank-you!
Thank you
"Shall not the judge of all the earth do what is just?" Yeah, so He's gonna throw people into eternal conscious torment for a finite amount of crimes. Nope, that is the opposite of just. Sorry. Not saying that sin doesn't deserve punishment, it absolutely does. But we would never consider infinite punishment on finite creatures for finite crimes as a just punishment.
My uncle passed away like 1 hour ago
Leonathe2nd, I’m sorry for your loss
Amen
I used to be agnostic only 6 months ago but I now have found god and jesus christ and know how real heaven and hell are. All you have to do is look at how actively satan is bombarding us all from all angles to see how obvious divinity and the grace of the father, the son, and the holy spirit all are.
Sorry.... That's just mumbo jumbo...
God* Jesus* Father* Christ* Holy Spirit* capitalize so we respect :)

So... You believe that God intervened and gave her one last chance right at the end...? Which you think she took
so repenting whole under duress is okay?
@@aliveinchrist3714
Honestly you are an embarrassment the 21st century...
He will do right if you have a relationship with him. If that person didn’t have a relationship. God I feel can’t get to you. The devil will get you
Help..
It's not a hard thing to do. Just offer condolences and don't treat the aggrieved as conversion targets.
My Dad - a non Christian - died 3 weeks ago. I have to believe he is with God.
Or you can believe what God's word says. Eccl. 9:5, 10 will tell you.

@@inaali8916 That is a lie from the devil.
I enjoy a lot of The Gospel Coalition's content, but there's only so much gymnastics that one can do regarding Eternal Conscious Torment. At the end of the day, it's an abhorrent concept that could only be created by the devil.
Fasle teacher
Sure you can think he does right but in fact you really never know where souls go. Those who go to heaven are extremely lucky. Even really good innocent people get their souls put in the most horrible aweful unexsplainable places and get stuck. Even this woman she could even have her soul go somewhere aweful. Even if she gave herself to the lord. U never know.
Actually you do know because God was clear about the condition of the dead (Ecclesiastes 9:5 & 10).
The dilemma of the insane Christian theology.
Fundamental christianity causes so much pain in the belief that god burns even 1 person forever let alone billions of people. If your willing to be a free thinker and question everything you were taught to believe, then I recommend you watch Aaron Abke's series moving backwards here.

Ive been in EXTREME torment since my dad died December 10, 2020 . My faith is shattered and my life hasnt and wont ever be like before. Also im sorry but , God is just. ..? I think not. Since December 10, i have issues wth this god thing. Im sorry but NO PERSON SHOULD BE SENT TO A SICKENING GUTWRENCHING place as hell. WHO DOES THAT? I DONT ACCEPT THIS. And so i will forever be on gods bad side, im sure. Thats all i got.
You still have an opportunity to save you and your children and many people on this earth. Trust in him
I agree with some of it
God knows you are suffering and He cares (Psalms 34:18) for you.
yeah, that's what I thought - everyone goes to heaven
No they don't. Rev. 21:4 speaks of removing death, pain and outcries forever for mankind. Psalms 37:10, 11 speaks of the future for mankind living on the earth, amazing promise to look forward to.
Thank you
