Omg?! I'd like to say: a HUGE thank you to everyone who watched, liked and/or commented on this video! 🥰💜 It really means a lot to me that you like this little animation 💜💜💜

I mean... he also saw a guy get eaten by a giant spider with the implications that it would have been him who was eaten if said guy didn't take his book away but still
The funny thing is that there is a children's book out there that has a plot slightly similar to the one in that episode. It's about a butterfly who comes to a spiders mansion for the night/dinner. The small similarity to that story freaked me out enough that magnus archives became real for a few minutes as a frantically looked up the book to make sure it wasn't the same.
I don't think it could have been anything but a silent film, Jon describes the book as having too much pages, and he doesn't remember turning them, so it almost looks like an animation, he also said the text has it's own pages with nothing except the text
About to send this to a friend from school who doesn't know anything about the magnus archives because we usually send each other really weird memes and crimeful videos. She's gonna love it
Ok I love the fact that we clearly can see the described difference between the pictures with the flowers, the vase, etc. I could even hear the text in John's voice. Unrelated question: why the heck am I suddenly in our local park? Pretty sure I started watching this video at home
UMMMM, in short, this is one of the best animations I've ever seen concerning The Magnus Archives, you get all my love and affection. The amount of serotonin I got from being genuinely uneasy for once was amazing!
This is SO cool. The music is really well done, and the framing of a silent movie is the perfect bridge between the book and a visual format. The style was great too!!!!!! 10000/10
It's the strangest thing. I was watching this on my phone, and when it was done, I was in front of an old wooden door, with my fist raised and ready to knock. Weird...
Holy mother of... My jaw physically dropped when the spider started moving. The animation is gorgeous, super expressive, super dread-inducing, and i was edging away from the screen for the end. Incredible.
@@rzindler right, I forgot that mother of spiders isn't actually a name it has. Thank you for the correction! Mommy is the Spider, she doesn't mother spiders.

Gonna try to be intelligent: The sound design was wonderful. I think the way you used moments of silence might have made the moments *with* sound even more impactful. Whatever you did when you were zooming in on the door at the end, it was just unusual enough of a sound to really put me on edge- and I've never been frightened listening to TMA before, not in a dread kind of way. Now that that's done with: OHHHH MY GOD. HOFOGOOH HGOOOOOH MY FUCKING GOS. IRREPARABBLY FUCKED MY NIGHT UP IN A GGOOD WAY HOLY SHIT HOLY. SHIT WOW
I’ve been incredibly hyperfocused on the Magnus archives lately and this is the single greatest piece of fanart I’ve ever seen for it!!!!!!! It’s so well done and it captures the atmosphere and imagery of the episode so well :D
I am watching this. At night. In the dark. By myself. I don’t like it here. It’s an AMAZING animation. But I am afraid. So join my in my terror. I am at 2:15. I’m very afraid. Will update. Update: I thought Mr. Spider was going to jump scare me. He did not. I am very thankful
ohh my god this is so good?? i really like this interpretation of mr. spider. very unsettling. once i reached the end i felt like i had some understanding of how jon must have felt at the time! music is also great, the fade to silence when it gets to the "mr. spider doesn't like it" parts are perfect!! (and had me bracing for a jumpscare even though i know what happens haha)
The amount of detail that went onto this is absolutely AMAZING I LOVE IT SO MUCH As another comment pointed out, the silent film format is perfect for this story and really captures the essence of the story! Another thing I adored was the way the strings on Mr. Spider became clearer as time passed GENIUS 💖🔥✨ I fell in love, one of my favorite TMA Animations BY FAR
This was an absolutely perfect video adaptation! Making is like a silent movie keeps it very “book-like” and the animation and sound are SUPER creepy. Terrifying in a good way, just like the original episode, I love it!
HEY I MEAN THIS IN THE BEST WAS POSSIBLE, THIS SUCKS BUT IN LIKE A GOOD WAY. LIKE IT MADE ME FEEL BAD AND UNSETTLED. Beautiful animation, delightfully horrifying, and I can definitely tell you either listened to the ep while making it or you had the transcript open because it’s pretty spot on. It’s great, thank you. Tell me why I knocked on my phone at the end.
Idk if these are the right words to say this, but you made a perfect conversion from a story in a book described via audio to a story told via video. It's just as unsettling without needing to explain what is actually happening. This is so cool!

Wow, this is one of my favorite sequences from the podcast, and it's great to see it stylishly animated like this. I love how you characterize the atmosphere and pacing through the style of an old silent film, and keeping the characters as outlined silhouettes is great in both capturing the simple children's book vibe and the underlying horror tone of the actual story. Brilliant work all around.
Man. This is always the episode I remember so vividly. Some have creeped me out and honestly, not even concerned with spiders. But this makes me not feel so good.

Interesting
I’m very entertained by the fact that the algorithm thinks this is kids content and has started trying to recommend me nursery rhyme videos
To be fair, Jon's grandmother also thought this was kid's content
That’s kinda creepy considering that means it could end up in a child’s recommendation who watches nursery rhymes
Is the algorithm ruled by an entity?
