I just hope I live long enough to enjoy the new building. I was born in 1980 so the Saddledome lifetime fits in within my lifetime somewhat Will be bittersweet to see it go. With currnt health outlooks I may live right up to around when the last Flames game gets played at the 'Dome (if I'm lucky). My daughter is a Young Canadian and does rehearsals at their facility just a couple blocks from where the new stadium is getting built. It's been incredible to see all the changes in this part of the city over the past 3 years. I used to park in 'Lot 14' a lot during those rehearsals (I always parked next to the gigantic tree in the middle of the lot now gone).
If the width of Stampede Trail in the documents is correct, the main concourse should be just under 3 car lanes wide. 3 car lanes is about 9.9 meters wide. In comparisons I've found it's similar in width to the north and east sides of the main concourse of Rogers Place (the narrower section).
Hey Ryan, in your inspection of those plans does it show where wheelchair seating is? At present, the saddledome WS is generally on the concourse level for sporting events, which is OK, but for concerts seating it is horrible😔. You're usually at the opposite end of the arena from the stage. I would be curious to know if they addressed that issue with better WS seating in perhaps the lower bowl?
Where did you get the design drawings? I work in design and would love to have a look at the detailed design drawings you show in your video. All I can find on the event center website is renderings.
The only details that would be nice to hear is that they’ve scraped the hideous design and decided to make another Saddledome except bigger and better.
The other issue the Dome faced was it was designed for the front row seats to be retractable for Olympic ice surface which eliminated usable space. EDIT: Solar paneling... there is a waste of money purely for virtue signaling.
@@ExoTheDrakoXIII It's completely a waste of money. The only place solar panels are even remotely affective (even that is debatable) is in hot sunny climates, not in the upper temperate zone with its snowfall. Especially when the heavy use of the building is during those winter months. As I said, purely a virtue signaling move.

Literally all they had to do was make another Saddledome, except have it be 2-3,000 seats bigger, and brand new state of the art features. That’s literally all they had to do. Instead, they chose to waste over a billion dollars on a modern art catastrophe that gives the Big Blue Ring and the Standing Scrapyard Chunks a run for their money. Disgusting. 🤢

@@patrickcarleton1073 head up, keep fighting and hope and pray that you get to be there at the opening 🤞💕🙏
Great video Ryan!
I look forward to seeing a few games at the new barn. :) Thanks for the update Pike.
Awesome breakdown Ryan. Appreciate you doing this for us.
Hi Ryan, My season tickets were $19 and right on the visiting team corner glass back in 81. Beer will be that price imo :) in 2027.
This is excellent, man. Thanks for doing this! 👍👊🔥
you are the 🐐 Piker
Excellent job Ryan! Scotia Place definitely looks so amazing and can’t wait until it opens.
It definitely looks like shit 💩
Thanks for the pike 💣!
Very nice breakdown. Thank you. However, I refuse to acknowledge 12th Ave SE as anything but Jarome Iginla Ave SE.

Looks like it's on the concourse level at the top of the lower bowl.

Awesome show Ryan! Finally, nice to hear some details on the event center. Thank you for all of our Flames info. 👍

Looking forward to seeing the final product. Thank you, Pike!
You have terrible taste
It looks like a big Costco
Not even. Costcos have a better design than Scrotum Palace. What a huge waste of hundreds of millions of dollars.
I guess with the new community rink, that means the Flames will no longer practice at WinSport every now and then eh?
Show the diagrams more and highlight what you are talking about.

Any word on the capacity? Please don’t tell me they are making it smaller in a city that has doubled in size since the dome was constructed!
Good lord
Not only does it look like CRAP, but it is SMALLER than the Saddledome.

Smaller capacity though they still wouldn't sell it out with their average crowds.
@@JesusFriedChrist It could have been worse, it could have been like the original concept art looked.
Scrotum Palace looks like crap 💩
You must be a Coiler fan.
