Bad test, lots of turrets didnt get proper cooling, for example 1 scorch wih cryofluid does more damage than 2 scorch. Second, space usage wasnt unfair too. There was gaps in 2x2 turrets. Cyclone has 5 more tiles than a swarmer, also in a few tests other turrets helped cyclone. Swarmer beats cyclone in dps btw
Why did you use thorium on the spectre? Pyratite is the objectively better ammo. "Area damage" also applies to the target you're hitting, so 70 + 20 is better than 80.

"Best turret" depends on what we're considering, turrets like arc and lancer are powerful (in the early-game, anyway) and very easy to setup

I know it's been 1 year, but if the reigns were spawned closer to the turrets, the thorium cryo fuses would've probably won.
But, of course, cyclone is still better in terms of versatility.
