This is my favourite version of this song ever, and these Toronto bootlegs are some of my absolute favourite Keith recordings ever. He really has a special talent doing this old country stuff.
How friggin awesome he is waiting for the Canadian drug sqaud trying to get him for commercial drug traffickers mandatory 15 -25 he is not a fucking dealer and Mick playing shanigans with trudeo Margret , Pierre said get out of my life don't take my wife go
These songs he recorded in Toronto break my heart. Knowing what he was facing--25 years in prison, separation from his wife & kids, loss of freedom, loss of music, loss of his band (there's no Stones without Keith), makes all these songs so much more poignant. And they are poignant enough to make me weep already. I hope they play this at my funeral.
Must have scared the crap out of him facing prison time for peddling heroin in Toronto. The recordings he made when everyone else took off to New York are raw, beautiful, and telling. That gruff exterior belies a very sensitive soul.
Keith never needed to peddle heroin in Toronto. Hell could you imagine Keith wanting to sell heroin at the corner of Bloor and Young asking in his gravely voice, " Hey man, want some smack? I need the money." the only reason he was charged with possession of trafficking was because of the amount they found and it was for both himself and Anita who were both addicts. Keith was no criminal but he was a heroin addict

Wow! What a song....it's bringing tears to my eyes because of the emotion in Keith's voice. Never heard this one before and I thank-you for sharing it!

This song pretty much speaks for itself. The subject matter is very emotional so just about whomever sings it, that`s worth their salt, nails it. Jerry Garcia, Graham Parsons, Merl Haggard, or Kieth. All very good at what they do and all nailed it.
Apparently there are people who don't know enough about Keith Richards or the song that they think Gram Parsons have something to do with this song this song is a song written by Merle Haggard that after he got out of prison it was I believe it may have been his first number one song but anyway it's a Merle Haggard song
