This song was the last number of the final medley on the last record made by the late and most definitely great Reginald Dixon, Blackpool's most famous organist.

I can’t believe how many thumbs down joe got for this lovely little song, to some it’s very meaningful to those who relate it to someone they have lost . This generation of talented musicians are dying out and the generation of today don’t get it unless there’s some kind of electronic beat box or sample machine which is sad. A credit to joe brown for an amazing true Britain performance.

He is one of the nicest people I've ever met. I was working at the Tramshed Theatre in Woolwich, when I was the theatre photographer and general dogsbody. I had the honour of walking onto the stage to inform him that he was now a grandad and his daughter had just given birth to a beautiful baby daughter.

Joe is a wonderful musician and a real showman. I have grown up with his music (and others) from the 50s and 60s and in my opinion, they don't do it like that any more, mores the pity. Sing on for many more years Joe your kind will not be seen again. Johnny Kidd, Freddie, and the Dreamers, Gery Marsden, and the rest of the British invasion stay with me from my childhood, never beaten or replaced.

Oh, what a lovely song written and performed in 1924!!!. I remember that in my youth during the 50's you sometimes heard it playing on the radio, but after the start of the 60's I never heard it again. There must be zillion covers of this song, but when I heard Joe Brown playing this at the Concert for George I was all goosebumps.

Met Joe and Sam during a BBC outside broadcast at Bluebell Railway, I said "Hello Joe" he said "How are you mate doing ...well?" then a quick chat, Then Sam came up and said "Is he bothering you", "shall I take him home"....
Humour and talent all wrapped up in a great family man.

It must have been in the late 1950s. Me and a couple of mates were walking along the sewer bank (very large pipes covered over with turf) one morning and this lad came along with some greyhounds. Never spoke, just nodded and I thought, "What a great haircut". Some years late I saw Joe onstage and it was the same bloke same haircut. Wish I'd said hello and we might have had a few words. My loss.

This is a great performance Joe!! We have met a few times as I have worked at the Bristol Hippodrome since 1984 as Maintenance manager. Pump boys and dinets was a great show at the Hippodrome and I brought my Mother back to meet you and have her program signed. It's always great to have you at the Hippodrome.
    Best wishes,
    Dave.
