I like chains. The sound is chilly. I watched, thought an emergency tourniquet could be waxed dental floss on a carabeener- slip around. I get "mean Hollywood" thoughts, in practice. If one has to fight- it is not for fun. I just get thoughts, rustle them up- the mean stuff as a mental rough draft & try to think if I did hurt somebody, I hope it's mostly fixable. So I walk around in the daytime in better neighborhoods. I think you guys are very valuable, I hope your instructors feel blessed by your being a representing of a gift. Thank you. And "peace"!

Hi Master. This video is great, thank you. I have few practical questions and would greatly appreciate it, if you find few minutes to answer.
    1. Does the weight or calibre of chain really matter, i.e. will 15mm 200g chain be different in its effect versus 6mm 50g chain. What are ideal parameters of the chain and weights in your personal opinion? Do size and shape of the chain's links make any difference?
    2. I realise that the contact with the opponent's body must be done with the end weight alone for maximum effect. But what would happen if I miss, due to the movement of the opponent, and strike his arm with forward one third of the chain's length? The chain will wrap around his arm. Will the strike be efficient enough? Would this make it easy for the opponent to grab my chain and possibly yank it out of my hand?

When you swing a chain in any kind of arc it will wrap tightly around the target and hold for a second. If you yank on the chain during that moment its locked itself in place you can pull an opponent off balance and still retrieve the chain for another strike immediately. You can practice this timing on a tree branch. The chain won't want to loosen until the forward momentum from the original strike terminates with the weight wrapping around the target.

Hi, is there any difference between a Kusari-Fundo and a 9-section chain whip? Thanks a lot.

The kusari fundo is a Japanese weapon. The tactic of this weapon is to hit your enemy with the end (which has a heavy metal ball) or to disarm weapons. It can combined with other weapons (ex:kusarigama). The nine section whip is just like its name described. It's a Chinese weapon and it's attack is to whip the opponent.
