Good video Sir I'm Peter from downtown Hamilton myself at 24 Tisdale street south across from the no frills plaza and wondering if you have any info on my building
me and my cousins have this joke where downtown hamilton is like this ghetto soviet russia type of thing where we are like "in downtown hamilton instead of swings they use branches" or instead of cough syrup they used alchol LMAO
Depends on the neighbourhood, but rental costs have been climbing. Housing got really expensive in Toronto and now many people have moved down the road. Rental properties have been converted so that the owners can charge higher rents. I'm paying about $1200 for a one bedroom apartment downtown.
Im a Filipino who lives in downtown near Main and Ottawa Streets. Downtown HamOnt is gentrifying with mixed income areas. There are more expensive Victorian homes and estates at the foot of the Escarpment but the area around Barton west of Ottawa St is where most of the cities low income people are situated (though this area too is slowly gentrifying). You wont find another city with a character like Hamilton’s (except maybe downtown Toronto since Toronto became a city in 1834 and Hamilton 1846).
