From a coffee lover, now a hobby of brewing a great cup of coffee. I'm documenting my coffee journey and I would like to share these with you.
It all started during the COVID-19 pandemic when most of us are all indoor, work from home, unable to visit our fave coffee shop often. So I decided to buy my first espresso machine, give it a try and share my experiences how's like to become a home barista. Then Home Barista Corner was borned.

I Just bought a Mara x 2 V2 ... proper enjoying it. I was confused with the settings at first as it has changed from V1 , the Steam and Brew modes are reversed from V1. one question do you get a wet puck ? i am getting a wet puck more than what i am used too? cheers
Yes got confused as well which one is the Brew Priority Mode so I contacted my supplier. They swap in version 2. Give the puck a few minutes to rest in portafilter and then dispose. You will get a dry puck then. Or for 18g beans, use the 18g basket. Same goes with single shot and 21g basket.
Thanks a lot for this answer, now I know why my v1 is reversed. I also now get wet pucks.
But what are the main differences between v1 and v2?
Also when having on steam mode it doesn’t sound as much as it is boiling the water at the group head when extracting water imo.
The pressure bar stays at 1 when steam mode. Shouldn’t it go to 1,5 as when having pulled a shot when in brew mode?

Question
Are the settings of steam and brew mode the same in version 1 and 2? Ive had mine now for over 2 years and am uncertain if I have v1 or not. What are the differences anyway?
Now when set on 0 on the right side it has a steady pressure of 1 bar (temperature set to 1).
When having it set on 1 the bar lowers to 0,5bar.
In version 2, I is the steam mode and O is the brew mode. In version 1, it's the opposite.
One Mode was killed and a New one added. If you want to Do milky Drinks then use "1"
