I have a theory that Captain Howard’s death is either going to be retconned that someone paid Armando (Mike’s son) to kill him due to his investigation into corruption within the Police Department. OR Mike and Marcus discover the video that was sent to them BEFORE the framing of his reputation is done (despite the trailer making it look like it happens after). The part about “someone had me killed” was him most likely assuming he would be killed for the investigation but Armando took him out before the villains of this film could. The only part I’m confused on is why the villains would wait this long to frame Captain Howard, especially when Marcus’ grandson is a couple years older now.

They Didn’t Wait, It’s All Part Of The Plan. Cases Usually Take Time, Especially “Corruption” Cases
