The math doesn't work for me, Isabel says she wanted to suprise Mike, but was arrested in 1995 november and Armando was born in 1996 march, then she must had been already 4 months pregnant - maybe her stomach didn't yet show, or maybe Armando was premature ... anyway Mike says he was born 8 months after her arrest, but I think he meant 8 months after they got involved and started to have unprotected sex, because otherwise it doesn't make sense ...

''Hasta el Fuego'' the phrase they used to say to each other istead ''Love you'' probably for that reason. Isabel wanted to run away with Mike the second she realised she was pregnant, but Mike misinterpreted it and thought she was trying to escape justice and arrested her.

No. It was an article about how he was a hero in their eyes - probably a propaganda, that is how Benito presented himself to local people or he was a nice guy to some extent or he was around those kids exactly because he himself couldn't have kids and missed the feeling of being around kids. Isabel married him in 1989 and Isabel's only child was born in 1996, no matter how I count it's 6 years childless marriage in the early 90's, and science says if a couple can't get pregnant in 1 year they have fertility issues. Isabel had a love affair with a potent man in Mike for a couple of months and boom, Armando exists. So, yeah, all evidence suggests Benito was indeed infertile.
