Bednarek is a solid 400m runner, Lyles is not. Kenny used to primarily want to be a 400m champion. I wish he would train it more to run relays because he could triple in a Diamond League on a good day.
@@panashenhavira he hit it later but its still a lower top end speed than others, she data shows that. Lyles, thompson, simbine, huges, seville, kerley all have hit higher top speeds
@@ffvgaming3735 I never said he has high top speed. I just said he hit it later 💀 and if he improves it and tries to bring it down to 60-65meters, it may affect his performance in the 200. Unless he is similar to Usain Bolt whose combination of genetics and coaching allowed him to somehow bridge that gap in terms of a balance. Focusing more on the 100 and the starts did affect his strength, but because of his speed, it made it look like he wasn't affected. So I do think if Tebogo were to run 9.75, he would need to make sure he's running 9.75 while his 300m is still going down to 30.5. But come to think of it, it's a gamble but maybe he could be the first sprinter to improve his top speed significantly and keep his strength constant
I have been saying this since he needs a coach who can take him through the 100m phases to win it. The current coach is doing a good job on the 200m and 400m but the 100m i am not impressed
Agreed, I hope he seriously considers the 200/400m double. Not since Michael Johnson have we seen that kinda of strength. I also would love to see Benjamin do the 400m.... as well as Sydney. All 3 of those athletes are out of this world talented. Cheers...👍👍
You're the first person to correctly pronounce his name... Yep, his splits were absolute batsh!t crazy. His qualifying round 400m, after the 200m, that was bananas. He managed to peak at the perfect time. Some big medals for his country and for Africa, he showed up. I will also say... Letsile is natural. He doesn't do steroids. He's probably the least muscular sprinter compared to the men in the finals he faces. He is strong and in great shape, but muscle wise he looks more like a 400m guy, but more normal. Because his mama dies in Dec and because he was running for Africa and his country, I also think his motivation was next level. I don't know that without all those ingredients that he wins the 200m. I really felt like Bednarek would win and is quicker but a Tebogo in the Olympics is different. As far as his country's 400m leg in the final, it shows he can run sub 44 comfortably, eventually maybe sub 43. He could triple in Diamond League, straight up. When has that happened?
1:37 You're wrong on this one. Wayde Van Niekerk doubled in the 200 and 400m and medalled in both. Silver in the 200 and Gold in the 400m. He doesn't get enough respect for that. lashawn merritt also attempted the double.
Similar splits to Norman from few years ago same as Fred kurley, Wayne Van Niekurk. Those 4 guys are sub 44 sub 20 sub 10. I’m pretty sure there’s no one else who’s in this club just those 4 guys
Bro he runs SUB 43 if he’s fresh. And he had to go around the outside of Benjamin, yet he still ran that fast. I truly think he can, with training, break the legendary 400m world record. He could probably get close to the 200 wr as well! Most talented athlete since Usain about, change my mind (Bolt never ran sub 45 400m - I know Tebogo hasn’t either but I can guarantee he will).
@@crabb9966 Yeah, Tebogo has run sub 45 whereas Bolt never did. Tebogo would have to break at least one of either the 200 and 400 world records to be considered the greatest all around sprinter ever. Because Bolt’s 100 and 200 world records were/are so good. Tebogo is a MACHINE though.

All he is missing is top speed, once he has that its over from 100m-400m
He had the highest top speed in the 100m
@@phetogokgathi4217 that was incorrect, he had the 4th/5th highest
He does have top speed. he just hits it later than anyone else. If he attempts to rectify this it could hinder his performance in the 200.
