First half of the creation of mountains for the backdrop. Shaping and carving the mountains out of styrofoam. Tools from Hot Wire Foam Factory: hotwirefoamfactory.com
Super nice. I am trying to fond more space at home for my Village... But unless we all are going to sleep on the balcony, I really do not see any chance for making my village bigger. So, I am thinking which scenario to create this year. At least I make a different scenery......perhaps a christmas market as the central.point. hmmm
I know whereof you speak! One year I had to make a number of vignettes all over the house. Drove the hubby crazy. The next year he built me a display shelf, so it was all in one place. That's how I used to get what I wanted!! 😄
Certainly, that's what I used to begin with. The only advantage of specialty tools is less styrofoam floating around, less mess. In fact, exacto knife probably does a better job of carving than the carving tools in the long run. I use the wire brush even with the carving tools, the brush adds very nice texture.
I'm not an expert on model trains, but as far as I know the HO gauge is the preferred size on train dioramas. The train I use is not really considered a model train and it's not electric, it's battery powered. I believe the HO is the smallest size train that would work in a Christmas village. Anything larger would be out of scale, and would just look odd.
@@TheasChristmasVillages thank you for the information. I just started watching you. This is my first time trying the panoramic view for my village. You make it look easy lol.
Amazing tutorial, ♥️🇮🇪🇮🇪

@@TheasChristmasVillages I may try your trick this year! Nice 😁
I noticed you used the specialty tools for this one. If I don’t have access to those tools, can I just used exacto knife and wire brush?

What size train works best with the size of Lemax and Dickens?
