Hubby and I got our nose on Creed Wind Flower (salesman gave us generous samples) & I was so underwhelmed. Like you said, it smells like so many other fragrances out there. In all honesty, it smells like a designer perfume with an expensive niche price tag.

I purchased a 7.5 Ml of Cavort from Maxaroma. I like it a lot but I need to catch it on sale. Really love the video. I’ve been wanting to try Bleu Turquoise for a long time your description intrigues me even more

Santal Noir- glad you were able to get your hands on a sample. This might be limited to just a specific region now🤷🏽♀️ but it’s a sexy beast for me. Don’t have to spray much at all. Wind Flowers- I agree with you, the scent is pleasant yet generic however the astronomical price tag that comes with it is asinine. Bleu Turquoise- I love the uniqueness of the slightly spiced salty vanilla🤗 it’s hard to come by now for whatever reason as well so I’m not sure if this is another one on the chopping block.

I really enjoyed this sample roundup! I like the four categories you used to evaluate them -- it is very useful for the viewer. FYI, I'm a fan of Ormonde Woman and think its a rare cozy winter scent that isn't a vanilla bomb.

Thanks for this! I was interested in Vanille de Tahiti, and it has been hyped a lot so I appreciate your honest review. But you haven't helped me get over my desire for Fire at Will, ha ha! I agree with VC&A- the longevity is a problem for me.
Honey... that Vanille de Tahiti hurt my little feelings. I almost purchased full price. We'll both be purchasing Fire at Will soon, huh? 🤭😂 Yeah that longevity issue on VC&A makes me sad. They are lovely scents.

Great list Veronica! I’ve flirted with buying Mystery Tobacco for a while. Pikovaya Dama has been on my to sample list for 2 years sigh…..I thought you had Cavort and or Secret Tryst. I love Cavort but I have met a few ladies that said absolutely not so…Bouquet Ideale will always be in my collection. She’s a forever love ❤

Loved hearing your thoughts on BDK Velvet Tonka. It’s gorgeous and wears especially well on clothing. I fortunately didn’t get a plasticy dry down. For me it was more tonka, marzipan, a bit woody (almond wood?). I’m still testing with my 8ml decant. I preferred it as a Spring/Early Summer fragrance. You’re right, it’s one you need more than a little sample vial. 🙂

Oooh, just got home after an intense weekend up in Phoenix going to concerts for my birthday. Faux Real and Wet Leg Thursday with my daughter, 21 Pilots with my eldest son on Friday, and The Flashback Party Jam with my hubby last night. That was NINE old school hip hop artists, including the Legendary Sugar Hill Gang. 💃So much fun, but I am absolutely dead, but I saw you posted and had to pop in!
Great reviews. Cavort sounds like Nomade by Chloe, but I'd have to sniff them together to find out. Mystery Tobacco sounds up my alley too. 🥰 Coccobello sounds incredible. I love creamy coconut scents. 😍 Over the Chocolate Shop would probably be a winner with my hubby. I'd probably mix it with the Velvet Tonka. Tonka just goes so well with Cocoa. 💖

Love this series but it definitely increases my wishlist! Therefore I’ve decided to return the favor …it’s only fair😂I’ve been itching to get my hands on Armani Bleu turquoise but it’s usually out of stock but did purchase the inspiration or dupe from Alexandria fragrance and I absolutely love it! You need to love salt; it’s not a gourmand by any stretch but evokes summer in the most amazing way. I think I have purchased ALMOST everything I’ve wanted from FDB-minut et demi, oud Bleu intense (most will say it leans masculine but I love it), oud jeune, santal complete, and oud orange--masterpieces--I’m thinking of Siberian Rose. I own BDK velvet tonka but I need to be in the mood for that one. May suggest crème de cuir….don’t be frightened of this leather, it is absolutely divine and smooth and nearly undetectable but gives the fragrance body. I’d say top 3 from this house. another enjoyable video of your test subjects. I must like unusual vanillas because I have Blue Turquoise and it is a refreshing yet warm vanilla scent that it great for Summer evenings. The Cyprus note along with the subtle incense notes in the opening may be challenging for some people but I like that it's different for a vanilla. I tested the Fire at Will and it really does project and last. The dry down is sweet and floral with that mimosa. It is on my wish list too. I think it's a better value than a lot of other niche houses. - Jenn
Hi there! I didn't get a lot of vanilla when I sampled Bleu Turquoise, but do plan to try it again. It had a lot of appeal and was quite interesting to me. I have Remember Me from Jovoy and look foreward to picking up Fire At Will soon. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 💖💖💖
@@VeronicaSays Yes, the dry down is a salty vanilla with a touch of that underlying DNA the fragrances in this series have.
I absolutely love Wind Flowers from Creed, but agree with you on the overprice point- I only bought as I managed to snatch it off someone who was reselling as didnt like the scent! So if you can get it for a much lower price its definitely worth it, it lasts ages Im talking 16h on skin and weeks on cloths and the mid and dry down are heavenly. 😊

It’s always good to hear your opinion on popular fragrances🤩😍👌. I sampled Eden Roc and loved it until it turned soapy on me, so it was a no for me😉😉. I absolutely love Bouquet Ideale and I got it for less than 50% when they were changing packaging😍😍. Also Bois Dore, got it at 30% off after sampling it😍😍. I absolutely love Cocobello, for me it’s a different take on coconut 😍😍. I really enjoy these videos from you as they make things quite interesting👌👌. Stay gorgeous🥰🥰.

Hola Vero thanks for the idea of keeping writing notes of your impressions because for sure when we deal with so many fragrances is hard to keep in mind particularities and I agree Creed and fragrance du Bois are extremely overpriced most of perfumes on this video I have not tried only the Xerjoff and Bois Dore I agree on is softeness but I love it

What sorcery did you use to get moderate performance from Gold Coast? That's one of my 3 full bottle of Bond, and the only one I regret because the performance is so weak. I love the scent, but I was wearing it this summer as an alternative to L'imperatrice (which everyone says is a weak performer) and even on paper L'imperatrice lasted longer.
Oh my! Sorry to hear that. I didn't do anything special for Gold Coast. It didn't last forever, but it did just fine for 4-6ish hours. In contract, L'Imperatrice disappeared on me quickly. 🤷♀️🥴😩

Hi Aziza! I don't think they are too similar not to own both. Main difference is that HSW has more floral touches whereas Fire At Will is mostly sweet sugary vanilla in comparison, but they both share an airy powdery thing.

I saw a dupes video of yours with Dua and Alexandria and the sister company. And I was wondering have you checked out Dossier? And there is one that is Oil Perfumery that also has a sister company called Oakcha. Have you tried those dupes out?
Hi Eunice. Yes, I have several fragrances from all three: Dossier, Oil Perfumery, and Oakcha. All are wonderful!
All the things you said about VCA Bois Doré are accurate. I love that particular almond tonka sweetness, especially with the woody teak. My spouse loves this fragrance on me as well.

Hi Veronica. I was in NYC one day last week and got myself to Bloomingdales to sniff around. I loved the Armani Blue Turquoise (in stock) as well as the Gardenia Antigua. Gris Dior is "full bottle worthy" for me when I can afford it; got way oversprayed by a salesman with Delina; and loved the Memo Paris Argentina. I also tried the new MFK, which I guess will be all over TH-cam soon enough (it's a Spring scent). Thanks for a fun video 🌷🌹🌺

@@VeronicaSays The Memo Argentina is very rosy, but smooth. It's fresh and beautiful, not vintagy (read Grandma). And it lasts forever!

Oddly enough I wore Bois D’ore to a function last night and it was a great hit. I’d never pay full price but a deep discount most definitely. I’m trying Eden Roc and it’s not doing it for me. But like you said sometimes these samples just aren’t enough to get the full experience. I need at least a 10 ml. Great reviews.

Good morning Veronica! I tried Dossier fragrances on your recommendation and I am super impressed. I ordered 6, dupes for Black Opium, Good Girl, Chanel No 5, By the Fireplace, Libré and Love, Don't Be Shy. They're all amazing dupes!! The only one I'm returning is the Chanel No 5 dupe but only because it's SO BEASTMODE that it gives me a headache. Also, it's a little too mature for me and my mom decided she doesn't like it anymore. She sported it in the 80's but her tastes have changed. 😚💜🤟🏻

Not sure if I like Vanille De Tahiti as well, it’s definitely that Jasmine that smells like stale breath, I can’t!!! Their jasmine is so heavy in that fragrance house. Creed is definitely not worth the retail price lol, I get so many compliments though lol. Definitely reminds me of a tamed Mademoiselle with peach. You really highlighted some great ones here! Either one will be wonderful. If the weather is colder, maybe use Richwood. If it's warmer, maybe use Pikovaya Dama.

I completely agree with you on Creed and Van Cleef and Arpels; I don't even bother sniffing their frags anymore.
Velvet Tonka is just too fleeting for me; the opening is everything but, it's just too weak. I gave it to my sister and she used a 1/3 of the bottle in a week, trying to keep the scent on her skin. I think you own CSP Eclats D'amandes and honestly they smell very similar and the latter lasts longer.

Bouquet Ideale is one of my signature scents. I absolutely love the tobacco, vanilla, spice thing that’s going on. I agree that it’s definitely not worth the full retail price, but if you can score a 100ml for less than $150, then it’s definitely worth it because of the smoothness and quality.

But i think it has hidden quality that will disclose itself after i leave the bottle in peace for a while! Vanille de Tahiti, P. Dama and Velvet Tonka are on my wishlist, too. I randomly got a sample of Coccobello 2 years and hated it! I was shocked because I love most coconut scents. Girl, it was a scrubber😄

I absolutely agree about Pikovaya Dama! On my list as well, even though absolutely not the type of perfumes I like (I love sweet, gourmand leaning). But Pikovaya Dama just does something to me that I cannot explain :)

The Bleu turquoise had me so intrigued and I was giddy to find a dupe from Dua! It’s beautiful! I couldn’t justify that price for the real one and it had to be a blind buy so definitely couldn’t do that but the dupe is lovely.

Veronica, could you possibly do a video on the best performing sweet fragrances from your collection? I love sweet, gourmand and cozy fragrances but it’s very difficult to find ones that have good projection a lasting power. Although, I realize everyone’s skin is different, I’d like to know your experience with them. For instance, I love the original Bonbon but it’s gone after 5 minutes. Same story with Black Opium, Pink Sugar and Love, Don’t Be Shy lasts a couple hours but that’s about it. If you’d be interested in making that sort of video I bet I’m not the only one who would LOVE to see it. Thanks and have a wonderful day! 😘

I love your honesty. And I agree with (most of) what you are saying. I keep trying Van Cleef … fragrances and just don’t get it. They smell so weak to me, compeltely unremarkable. Same goes for FdB, Ihaven’t smelled one yet that wowed me. And for the price? That’s a no for me.
Thank you, and that's been my experience too. I suppose some people prefer softer fragrances and I respect that. FdB, the prices are a turn off. I did enjoy Cavort, Santal Complet and Oud Jaune Intense, but at maybe half the price (preferably even less than that). Thanks for watching 💖

Cavort smells like Initio side effect! That’s what it reminds you of. I had them side by side and could barely tell the difference. I do love cavort just need a huge discount like you said .

For some reason the Wind Flower made me happy so I wanted it but resisted. At the end of the day I felt I could live without it.
It's definitely a pleasant and happy fragrance! I did like it. Just not for $400 plus. 🤷♀️
I was tempted to ask for VCA Bois Dore (probably misspelled) for Christmas but will pass after hearing it’s not that great. I picked up the Vanilla from them that everyone hyped up (found partial bottle) and it’s only ok and sooooo soft.
I've been underwhelmed by VC&A for the price point. Some swear by them though so I suggest sampling if possible. They are pretty scents, just not noteworthy (IMO).

I wanted to love Bleu Turquoise so much, but I think the Incense note ruined it for me. I think you nailed it with the "Sucrets" association, there was something def medicinal going on there.
Yeah, medicinal doesn't work for everyone. Not all people want to walk around smelling like Sucrets. 🥴😆
I do have full bottles of Pikovaya Dama(small bottle), Gold Coast, Madison Avenue, Wind Flowers, Cavort, Halley and Velvet Tonka…. I played with their testers for a while before I decided to get their full bottles…. I absolutely love them all except for Wind Flowers, I like but not love, but my coworkers love it on me. The only Creed fragrances I have are Love in White and Wind Flowers….they are too expensive in my opinion!

I love sampling fragrances though, so fun! I can’t find my notes on Bleu turquoise or Coccobello anywhere! I wanted to compare my first impressions with yours, I’ll have to retest those! But I do remember Bleu turquoise becoming very smoky or incensey on me deep into the dry down. I just got the discovery set from Commodity so I’m going to have fun testing those this week! 😊

The Commodity set I got is the “scent space edit”, which includes two perfumes from each scent space. I would’ve purchased the entire collection of 18, except it only came out on Sephora the week *after* I had already purchased this one 🤦🏻♀️😅 oh well! I think it will still give me a good idea of what they are all like. I tested Book and Paper today, they were both from the ‘personal’ scent space. Book has that dill pickle type of sandalwood and Paper smells like a mixture of JHAG Not a perfume and Glossier You. That’s my take on it anyways! 😁

I can see from the comments that we all agree on Creed... So far I've tried Spring Flower, Fleurs of Gardenia (I didn't like them) and Virgin Island Water, which I like but it's too "light" for me, the price is too high IMO. But I do love the bottles!💖

And if you don't mind higher prices and prefer original formulations, Simone Andreoli's Malibu Party In the Bay is an excellent and more enjoyable alternative to Virgin Island Water. 👍👍👍

Sucrets!!! I felt grown when I had sucrets. I loved the "fancy" tin and was always mad when it didn't taste like candy. Lol Your description of bleu turquoise does not fit that bottle. Sounds interesting though.
