The Sargent was very polite for not totally condemning that hitch. Professionals are taught to never put a hitch on a cleat. If it’s needed, it will jam beyond your ability to undo it. He politely explained that a round turn is sufficiently secure. See “coastguard boating education”
This not the proper way to cleat a hitch. Not sure where you and a professional got your info., should be embarrassed. Watch videos of half and full hitch knots. Europe prefers full, US is a mix of both.
You all probably dont give a shit but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my login password. I would love any tips you can give me!
@Luca Felipe I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.

I will see u in next vid Byeeeeeeeeeeee! :D
i wish you could see the thumbs down on this video. absolute largest pile of trash ive ever seen. totally wrong! for anyone looking to tie a proper cleat hitch LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!!
Hahaa, you are right - there's room to "argue about the "proper" way" to tie a cleat hitch. While your method of tying to a cleat has worked for you over decades, that's not the way it's taught by marine instructors - Sgt. Dirth was pretty kind. Way too many fig-8s, only need one locking half-hitch - after a couple f-8s they don't add to hitch strength, they just form a cleat pyramid. Nice Flemish Flake demo. Some use a Chain-Sinnet for the excess bitter-ends.

Thanks buddy! I appreciate that!
Wait are you the guy from wiscsonsin four wheeler boating and all the other saftey courses?
You bet. We actually made those videos for the state in the times we're not working on this channel.
StoneAgeMan thank you that got me through boaters and four wheeler safety without dying of boredom and it was a nice break from the constant reading
Always did that and never knew what it was called.
Wow that is awesome

You turned the locking hitch towards the incoming line. Wrong. You turn away so it lays parallel too the previous horn turn.

A million knots for a million uses.👍
One of the worst I've seen yet. "If you want to look like you know what you're talking about---". What a quote to end the video. This totally wrong.
