I heard this a few days ago on CBC Music, and couldn't believe I'd never heard of it or Korndorf before. The orchestration is breathtaking; I felt like I was immersed in a Terrence Malick film on the origins of the universe.
Korndorf was featured on CBC Music this afternoon. What a discovery! I'm sure this is just the beginning of a renaissance of interest in his amazing body of work.
hello, i'm curious of who else, supreme secret Russian composer works you discovered, absolute majesty ? In the first things from classical i liked was also the mystery of scriabin & tchaikovsky, but i'm still in a giant wondering wave of curiosity
Same here. Heard it the other day,and was blown away. So original and otherworldly.
There are various recordings of Korndorf's music - he is certainly worth listening to. One of the greatest Russian composers of recent times.

That's exactly where I heard it too, on "About Time with Tom Allen'. Remarkably powerful piece.
Beautiful, sounds like the mountains waking at dawn.
A man deeply in touch with nature and his soul.
Thank you for this.
