Other responders have given you the technical term "vibrato" something uses masterfully, but there are so many more techniques going on with her voice that you need to be a trained voice teacher to begin to identify them all. A few of them, "vocal fry", the little crackles at the beginning and ends of words, "melismas", back-phrasing, swoops, diphthongs, she studied voice but learned most of the techniques by ear from exposure as a young toddler. Behind it all is a supreme self-confidence and purity of intention despite her outwardly shy appearance. She has the ability to sooth and hypnotize you with her voice. We are blessed to witness a once in a lifetime talent.

It was never authorized for release, but if it had been released and promoted it would have easily made Top 10. Totally agree - I’m still holding out for you is one of her best. The whole video aesthetic is stunning too. Apparently the lyrics at the end are about suicide and when her mum realised, she didn’t want her singing it again. Baby Fuzz didn’t want to change the lyrics so... the song got pulled. Pity because that song + Angelina is an absolute hit. You should definitely react to it.

Angelina is not performing as much as she is playing. Most children spend their play time doing anything but singing. No one can deny Angelina is a music prodigy but the only one who specializes in vocals. She uses her natural talent and plays with it to improve. Angelina is always smiling as any child is when they are playing. We are truly blessed to be alive at the same time as Angelina Jordan.

I'm still smiling. I actually laughed out loud when you fell back in the chair bc I knew it was coming! This performance is unbelievable and most people don't realize when I tell them until they see it. I'm sure she arranged the song with the style and tempo as she has always done since Norway's Got Talent (NGT) at 8 yo when she instructed the trumpet player how and when she wanted him to come in for her final NGT performance. It's on video! The band always follows her lead not the other way around. The final performance on NGT was "Summertime" which you probably recognize and it's the Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Armstrong version. It would be a good next reaction or maybe all 4 performances,(which took place over several weeks/months) in a single video of 10 min 31 seconds. She starts off with Gloomy Sunday at 7 yo, which went viral worldwide. By the time she did the one you just watched she was already a veteran of the stage singing to large crowds worldwide from age 8 after winning NGT. Anyway, count me in for the journey. Yes - all the performances from NGT are fantastic and worth to be reacted to... but I think it's better to react to each separated, because in the mix with all in one video is too much cut out :'-(... And also watch out which version you take: E.G. from "I'm a fool to want you" which AJ sings a capella there is a shorter version because there are 54 seconds cut out. And these 54 seconds are so good - even with speaking in - but the good thing of this version is, that you can't hear that there is something missing: AJ hit exactly the notes even after nearly a minute... That at the age of 10 only, on stage, so small and young and positioned right between an excellent band and the audience, she is able to calmly face the song and pour such vocal and emotional power into it, is absolutely incredible. Her particular depth of voice, the wonderful use of vibrato and the ending of her interpretation are exceptional, for intuition and execution. By the time she did the one you just watched she was already a veteran of the stage singing to large crowds worldwide from age 8 after winning NGT. Anyway, count me in for the journey. Yes - all the performances from NGT are fantastic and worth to be reacted to... but I think it's better to react to each separated, because in the mix with all in one video is too much cut out :'-(... And also watch out which version you take: E.G. from "I'm a fool to want you" which AJ sings a capella there is a shorter version because there are 54 seconds cut out. And these 54 seconds are so good - even with speaking in - but the good thing of this version is, that you can't hear that there is something missing: AJ hit exactly the notes even after nearly a minute... That at the age of 10 only, on stage, so small and young and positioned right between an excellent band and the audience, she is able to calmly face the song and pour such vocal and emotional power into it, is absolutely incredible. Her particular depth of voice, the wonderful use of vibrato and the ending of her interpretation are exceptional, for intuition and execution. She is absolutely unique 😁❤️
It does not seem, for the ease with which she turns any song into extraordinary interpretations, but beyond her talent there is a great and continuous work behind, eespecially for this song you can find several recordings of her rehearsals of her as she decided how she had to interpret it.
